Visited my sister in December, I was able to gain a good insight to her progress and enjoy the day with her. The staff are always so attentive and helpful and the manager Fiona always very hands on and available to speak with us if we have any concerns. My sister tells me she is happy at Rookhurst,
and glad she moved there from her previous place of residence.i would review Rookhurst as an excellent care home.

Rookhurst have always been great over the years, and more recently have proved to be very good with managing challenging medical issues, and always ensure the services and activities go a long way to ensuring continual improvements. Communication is excellent and visiting is made very comfortable by
way of having plenty of space in a clean and tidy environment, also helped by the other residents being calm, kind, courteous and helpful.

I am so very grateful to Chelmsford Care centre for the care of my husband Andrew .
He was a difficult resident when he arrived but was treated with care , and compassion.
Myself and the family cannot thank you all enough. A helpful and friendly reception and administrative team.
Hands on involvement

As for his one to one carers I was overwhelmed by their patience, ,kindness and attention they gave him .
In the early hrs of the morning when he died I felt supported and comforted .

The manager is exceptional, very caring and knowledgeable.
We as a family have been involved with the home before my mum and I can't recommend them higher.
Dad is settling in well and they have

I am very happy with the care my grandmother receives at your facility. She is well looked after and happy.
The home has many activities in place to keep her occupied.
I was most impressed when I received a call back from a member of your staff when I tried to call to speak to her. I understand how
busy you all are and the phone went to answer phone but was so surprised and happy to get a call back from one of your team which meant I could then speak to my grandmother.
When I've visited all the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and I trust my grandmother in their care.

We are so grateful to Chelmsford Care Centre for the exceptional care they have given my mother-in-law. From the moment she arrived the difference from her previous home has been night and day. The staff are attentive, kind and professional, they treat her with dignity and respect, make time to chat
with both her and our family, and show nothing but kindness and compassion.

Their communication has been outstanding, they keep us informed at every point and are on top of all the administration, which has given us enormous peace of mind while we navigate this difficult time with her rapidly progressing dementia. Her care is thorough and personalised, she is supported with all her needs, the food is tasteful, and the team provide activities to keep residents active and engaged. Everyone, from the carers to the activities team (and right down to the admin), has been brilliant. We truly can't fault anything about them and feel confident and reassured knowing she's so well looked after.

Reply from Zoe Walker, Deputy Manager at Chelmsford Care CentreThank you so much for your heartfelt review. It truly means the world to our entire team. We're delighted to hear that your mother-in-law has settled in well and that you've noticed such a positive difference since her arrival.
Our staff work hard to provide compassionate, person-centred care, and it's wonderful to know that their kindness, communication and professionalism have made you and your family feel supported during such a challenging time. We understand how difficult it can be to navigate a loved one's dementia journey, and we're grateful that you feel reassured and confident in the care she receives.
Your kind words about our carers, activities team and admin staff will be shared with them all - they will be so encouraged to hear this. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. It's an honour to look after your mother-in-law, and we remain committed to ensuring she continues to feel safe, supported and valued every day.

Regular updates of any changes in care plan.
Names of staff involved in relatives care being provided.
Having consistent standards of communication with resident , staff and family and care, including
Person - centred approach.
Proactive for improving comfort and quality of life rather than reactive, taking into account residents physical, mental , emotional and cultural needs, interests and preferences.
Encouraging good health choices with diet and enabling eating.
Having skills to manage residents changing moods , behaviour and mental health.
Reply from Heidi Seldon, Manager at Philia Lodge Rest HomeThank you for your feedback. Since the Registered Manager returned in May 2025, staff turnover has reduced, and we now have a stable, experienced team, which was commended in our CQC inspection on 16 July 2025. Parking is available at the rear of the home, though spaces depend on visitor numbers. Street parking is limited to 30 minutes, and we cannot provide visitor permits; however, staff permits are being arranged to free more spaces for visitors.
We value family involvement, but your relative has full mental capacity and has chosen not to share certain personal information. Under the Mental Capacity Act, we must respect their wishes and confidentiality. We continue to encourage them to involve you where they feel comfortable. We remain committed to consistent, person-centred care and ongoing improvements in communication and wellbeing support.

My mum is currently a resident at the Star Nursing Home (Jan 2026). Since her arrival there in August 2023 the staff at the home have always gone above and beyond in their care for our mum. We regularly visit often unannounced and both my brother and I have always experienced the residents being treated
with care compassion and respect despite the very difficult and challenging job. I would echo others comments that despite the look of the building from the outside the actual environment inside is always clean and well looked after and the home always seems to be run in a professional way. We have appreciated all the staff members there who seem to go above and beyond - often offering visitors refreshments and making us feel comfortable also. Mum always looks and smells clean and we are contacted in case they notice she has any marks or bruises on her to advise and talk about any possible further medical action needed. In short - it is a fantastic home with dedicated caring staff

The team at Lanrick House have been welcoming, supportive and reassuring from our first visit to when my dad and stepmum moved in, and since. They have a double room with a sitting area, and we have been encouraged to decorate the room and furnish it with their own items if we wish. That makes it feel
more personal and like home, which is different to our experience with a previous care home. It's a great relief to know that they are together without having to be responsible for each other's care, and I feel confident that they are happy, safe and well cared for.

I cannot fault the care and attention that is afforded my father by Chelmsford Care Centre.
The nurses are always approachable and willing to discuss any feedback on fathers progress and advice on how best to manage his condition. The HCA's are always on hand to help and treat dad with respect and
dignity.
Activities are well coordinated without any forced nature to them.
The facility is alway clean and well maintained.service staff are always available if required
From day one the reception staff have made us feel very welcome, and everyone meets me with a welcome and a smile.
The management team have been a real asset in the transition of my father from hospital discharge and have been key in helping my siblings and I understand the pathway my father is currently on. They are always approachable and have helped a great deal, particularly being available to advise and give invaluable support for us and dad after my mothers passing.
I would highly recommend Chelmsford Care Centre

and we have to move her soft toys every time she uses the bed, but no space for shelves.

We had a very bad experience in Mum's last home. As soon as we walked into Chelmsford Care Centre we knew that was the right home for her. The rooms are comfortable and walking around the home it had everything mum needed. Mum really liked it as well when we showed her. Staff are lovely. The only thing
I would add would be the gardens. It is all grass - needs trees and flower beds for mum.
Reply from Zoe Walker, Deputy Manager at Chelmsford Care CentreThank you so much for sharing your experience. We're delighted to hear that Chelmsford Care Centre felt like the right home for your mum and that she felt comfortable and happy when visiting. It's wonderful to know that our team and facilities met your expectations and helped create a positive environment for her. We really appreciate your feedback about the gardens. Creating a more vibrant outdoor space with trees and flower beds is a great suggestion, and we'll certainly take this into consideration as we continue to improve our home.
Thank you again for your kind words and for trusting us with your mum's care.

My mother-in-law recently moved to this care home after her previous home was no longer able to cater for her advanced dementia, and the level of care she has received here so far has exceeded our expectations. From the management team to the carers, everyone has been incredibly kind, supportive, and
understanding throughout her transition.
The staff have shown exceptional skill in dementia care - treating her with patience, dignity, and genuine compassion. They are they are taking the time to learn her needs and preferences, which is helping her settle in much more quickly than we anticipated. Their calm, reassuring approach has made a noticeable difference to her comfort and well-being, even in just the first couple of days.
The home itself is warm, clean, and thoughtfully designed for residents Communication with the family has been excellent, giving us confidence and peace of mind as she adjusts to her new environment.
