I cannot fault the care and attention that is afforded my father by Chelmsford Care Centre.
The nurses are always approachable and willing to discuss any feedback on fathers progress and advice on how best to manage his condition. The HCA's are always on hand to help and treat dad with respect and
dignity.
Activities are well coordinated without any forced nature to them.
The facility is alway clean and well maintained.service staff are always available if required
From day one the reception staff have made us feel very welcome, and everyone meets me with a welcome and a smile.
The management team have been a real asset in the transition of my father from hospital discharge and have been key in helping my siblings and I understand the pathway my father is currently on. They are always approachable and have helped a great deal, particularly being available to advise and give invaluable support for us and dad after my mothers passing.
I would highly recommend Chelmsford Care Centre

My sisters needs are met, and if I have any questions staff are always available to answer and discuss matters. Some things need to be repaired but in general things are kept in good condition. Food menu could be more varied, but I suppose on pureed diet it is not easy. My sister's room is quite small
and we have to move her soft toys every time she uses the bed, but no space for shelves.

We had a very bad experience in Mum's last home. As soon as we walked into Chelmsford Care Centre we knew that was the right home for her. The rooms are comfortable and walking around the home it had everything mum needed. Mum really liked it as well when we showed her. Staff are lovely. The only thing
I would add would be the gardens. It is all grass - needs trees and flower beds for mum.
Reply from Zoe Walker, Deputy Manager at Chelmsford Care CentreThank you so much for sharing your experience. We're delighted to hear that Chelmsford Care Centre felt like the right home for your mum and that she felt comfortable and happy when visiting. It's wonderful to know that our team and facilities met your expectations and helped create a positive environment for her. We really appreciate your feedback about the gardens. Creating a more vibrant outdoor space with trees and flower beds is a great suggestion, and we'll certainly take this into consideration as we continue to improve our home.
Thank you again for your kind words and for trusting us with your mum's care.

My mother-in-law recently moved to this care home after her previous home was no longer able to cater for her advanced dementia, and the level of care she has received here so far has exceeded our expectations. From the management team to the carers, everyone has been incredibly kind, supportive, and
understanding throughout her transition.
The staff have shown exceptional skill in dementia care - treating her with patience, dignity, and genuine compassion. They are they are taking the time to learn her needs and preferences, which is helping her settle in much more quickly than we anticipated. Their calm, reassuring approach has made a noticeable difference to her comfort and well-being, even in just the first couple of days.
The home itself is warm, clean, and thoughtfully designed for residents Communication with the family has been excellent, giving us confidence and peace of mind as she adjusts to her new environment.

I have been closely involved with Cambuslodge for 15 years, visiting my brother regularly.
I regard my brother's admission to Cambuslodge as a near miracle in terms of the degree of happiness that he has experienced as a resident and the comfort that it has given his family knowing that he is exceptionally
well cared for in every way.
The staff are friendly, caring and very competent.
The organisation of daily activities and outings provides the residents with highly meaningful and involved lives.
I simply wish that there were more facilities like this one so that more people might benefit from the same standard of care and attention.

My mother has been in the care home since last February. I am very pleased with the care she receives, I know that she is comfortable, content and very well looked after. The carers and other staff are all very good, they are very attentive to her every need and the wellbeing of all the residents can
be seen to be the priority of all the staff.
They organise quite a lot of activities in the home, in which all residents are encouraged to partake in, but it is never an issue if they don't want to. The nursing staff in the home are always available should I have any concerns or questions regarding her health or wellbeing. The food is very good and my mother eats well and enjoys it.
There is a real sense of community in the home.

My father is currently receiving long term care. When I compare Chelmsford Care Centre with his previous care facility the standard of care he receives is far more suited to his needs. He is made to feel like a member of a community and not an individual. The staff are fantastic and deal with him in
a professional and caring way. He is occupied every day with the activities that are run by the staff and I know it can be difficult for him to be involved sometimes but the staff persevere and make sure he is engaged as much as possible. I Highly recommend this care centre as it is a very welcoming place where the individuals needs are constantly met. Thanks

My brother has lived at Cambuslodge for around 30 years. He is very happy there. The staff are fantastic. The Manager has been there many years and I can't praise her enough. She is an outstanding Manager who cares deeply about all the residents. The whole staff team are very dedicated and supportive

Excellent care home with excellent staff. There have been notable improvements since taking residency here. There was a reluctance to move from the previous provider but this was due to a general fear of change. In hindsight it would have been better to move here sooner. We are very pleased with the
care provided and the approach taken by all the staff.

First impressions: my mum has been in a different home for the past 5/6 months, where she never settled.
On my entrance I spoke to the female receptionist (sorry I didn't get her name) they knew exactly who mum is and took me through to her.
When I visited her today, she was happy relaxed and definitely
more settled than I have seen her since her dementia took hold of her. She was passing time by chatting to other residents. She flatly refused to communicate with anyone in her old home.
Whilst I was there she was given a nice cup of tea and offered some fresh biscuits. A carer came across and gave her daily medication and stood there whilst mum swallowed the tablets. This was done with care and it was explained that it was her medication not just 'chucked' at her.
Loads of staff were around at all times which is comforting for me as I physically saw that she's being looked after.
Only 4 stars as its early days.
So far so good
Reply from Zoe Walker, Deputy Manager at Chelmsford Care CentreThank you so much for sharing your experience it truly means a lot. We're so pleased to hear that your mum is feeling more settled and relaxed. It's wonderful that she's engaging with other residents and enjoying simple comforts like tea and biscuits. The team will be glad to know their care and attention are making a difference, especially with how her medication was handled and the visible staff presence.
We understand it's still early days, and we appreciate your honest feedback. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything more we can do to support your mum or help her continue to feel at home.

My brother continues to enjoy his life living in Rookhurst. This has been the case for a number of years so in reality it has become the norm. I am unable to suggest any possible improvements that would better my brother's life in all respects. My family and I continue to be delighted and grateful to
all members of Rookhurst team and family led by an inspirational manager.
