The Star Nursing and Residential Home

When I've visited all the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and I trust my grandmother in their care.

Everyone at the care home is kind and considerate and patient. They are incredibly caring and always welcoming and considerate whenever I visit. My mother has been at The Star in Peterborough for nearly 2 years and she is very happy. Everyone working at the home smiles and appears cheerful. The food is high quality. The special days they put on throughout the year are great fun for staff, residents and visitors. I feel it is a happy and safe place.

My mum is currently a resident at the Star Nursing Home (Jan 2026). Since her arrival there in August 2023 the staff at the home have always gone above and beyond in their care for our mum. We regularly visit often unannounced and both my brother and I have always experienced the residents being treated with care compassion and respect despite the very difficult and challenging job. I would echo others comments that despite the look of the building from the outside the actual environment inside is always clean and well looked after and the home always seems to be run in a professional way. We have appreciated all the staff members there who seem to go above and beyond - often offering visitors refreshments and making us feel comfortable also. Mum always looks and smells clean and we are contacted in case they notice she has any marks or bruises on her to advise and talk about any possible further medical action needed. In short - it is a fantastic home with dedicated caring staff

Our mum has recently passed away, and the end of life care provided by the management and staff at The Star was fantastic. During Mum's short stay there, she was treated with love, respect and dignity and very well cared for by every member of staff. They also made sure we were always informed of any changes to Mum's care and nothing was too much trouble. Every member of The Star are a credit to the care home industry, they are very hard working but always find the time for a smile, chat and a welcoming cup of tea.

Staff all pleasant. Happy to help in all ways, very demanding job. One I couldn't do. Well done everyone, always smiling.

Mum arrived at the beginning of January 25. Very apprehensive about coming into a care home, but not even 24 hours later, mam was raving about the staff. Very friendly, professional and caring. I have the same sentiments. Always open and honest. Will help in whichever way is needed. The Star is a lovely home.

My mum arrived here after having a fall and sustained brain injury, she had already spent some time in rehabilitation and needed extra care and help to regain her health and strength. I was a little dubious of The Star as the location and building from the outside is not the prettiest! However, we were absolutely blown away by the amazing care from the staff who were able to help mum regain the skills to enable her to move on to living in extra care accommodation and living independently back with her husband. Thank you for all the help and support - I would absolutely recommend you for anybody looking for a caring and nurturing environment for their loved ones. Incredible team.

The care and support is excellent. Plenty of activities, lots of updates, and very accommodating with visits! The staff have been amazing, not only for my grandfather as a resident, but also for the rest of the family!

My aunt was in the nursing home after a hospital stay for a bad fall, fractured hip, pelvic. The staff were so lovely here, they go above and beyond their duties, caring for residents and their families, always a happy place to go into. Always lots to do if residents wanted to join in. The nurses were very good, always keeping us informed as to what was happening, always clean. Unfortunately, our aunt was too ill to enjoy the things on offer in the community room, always well looked after in her room though.

Excellent care, passionate staff looking after everyone's needs. Highly recommend for the care they give.

Bit uncertain about the place at first but after five visits I found the place relaxed and the staff most helpful. The rooms look tidy, clean and good. I bring my neighbour here regularly to see her husband as she can't drive.

My cousin entered The Star Nursing and Residential Home about a year ago when he needed nursing care. As I live some considerable distance away, I was unable to visit him as much as I would have liked and he had no other relatives or friends to visit him. I was, therefore, very grateful that the staff took the time to get to know him and keep him company. He was always treated with dignity and respect and I was kept informed of his condition on a regular basis. My sincere thanks to all those who cared for him.

The nursing staff and receptionist and care manager, are a lovely team. Caring and compassionate. My dad is very happy at the star nursing home. I know my dad is safe and protected, and very happy to have lots of company. I would highly recommend the star nursing home. With warmest regards.
