They arranged for a singer to come in and it was lovely to see our mom come alive with the music ,everyone made a fuss of her.
The staff here are wonderful we can't praise them enough ,our mom is well looked after and sometimes she can be very difficult as she has Dementia but the girls do a wonderful job ,i can honestly say they should get paid double for all their hard work .
Well done your a wonderful team and we thankyou you all from the bottom of our hearts
My nan has stayed here for respite. I highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for respite or permanent care. Everyone from the manager to the maintenance man are very welcoming, caring and very helpful.
Nethermoor really does have a homely feel. The building is old, probably listed, and so the facilities aren't very modern, but the staff do their best to brighten the place up with decorations for every season.
Before she arrived, Mum was in a newly built care home for respite care; it was huge, and she was like a fish out of water. When she moved to Nethermoor, all the staff were so friendly and caring. They understood she needed to be involved and made sure she had plenty to keep her occupied. After 18 months, Mum is part of the furniture. She has friends, and all the care staff know her by name. There are regular activities, crafts, games and live entertainment. There's also a lovely summer fete for staff, residents and everyone's families.
The garden is amazing, but sadly, most residents can't make use of it due to access issues. Some sort of path or patio would be fabulous. Trips out are very rare.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your review. We're delighted to hear that Nethermoor House feels like home for your mum and that she has settled in so well. Your kind words about our staff and community events mean a great deal to us, and we're very grateful for your feedback. We...
The care given to our dad was outstanding throughout his time at Nethermoor House. Every single member of staff treated him with kindness, respect and humility. They got to know him so well and he was well looked after and enjoyed the activities that were organised. We received regular updates about health and the monthly newsletters were appreciated. He was very happy there and that meant the world to us. We couldn't recommend this care home enough.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We are truly grateful for your lovely words and for taking the time to share your experience. We're also pleased that the updates and newsletters were helpful. Thank you again for your recommendation - it really does mean the world to us.
In the three years my brother has been in the home I have never had cause for any complaint. I think the staff do a really good job in very difficult circumstances. I have always seen residents treated with kindness. My brother can be cantankerous as I'm sure many elderly people there can be but he has had very few grumbles. My family are grateful for the care that he is given.
Thank you so very much for sharing this heartfelt review. Your brother is a pleasure to care for and we're deeply grateful for your trust, we're grateful to be part of his journey.
Mom has been living here for nearly 2 years. She settled in quite quickly and tells anyone who asks that they look after her well, and that the food is very good. Mom has dementia, so her remarks cannot always be relied upon for accuracy, but she is doing better than I expected when she first moved in, and far better that she was when she lived alone.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. It truly means a lot to us to hear that your mom feels cared for and comfortable here, we're grateful to be part of her journey.
It's a shame trips out are no longer offered either with a charge or from funding raised at events.
The car park and driveway could do with repairing.
The cheerful atmosphere seems to be very low at the minute
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're really pleased to hear that your mum is happy - that's the most important thing to us. We appreciate your honest feedback about trips, facilities, and the overall atmosphere. Your suggestions help us understand where improvements can be made,...
All of the staff and management I have encountered are welcoming and happy to discuss any queries I might have.
The freshly prepared nutritious food offered by the kitchen staff is impressive. When I am visiting on a Sunday the smell of the lovely roast dinner makes me want to move in!
Mum loves being a resident here (on a good day of course). Let us hope that she has many many more days of being looked after by such a group of caring people. Thank you all.
My mother-in-law has been here for 4 years now. The new manager has changed a lot in the home and is so easy to talk to. My mother-in-law is happy and well looked after. Nurses are friendly and caring. Two nurses in particular are extremely dedicated. The staff member in the office is helpful and the office and helps with anything you need answering. The cheese and wine evening was very enjoyable and the manager had a list of things being done in the home for residents. The cheese and wine evening brought relatives together after covid and residents back together. Residents enjoyed it holding their glasses up and saying cheers. So many new nurses, all very good and caring. Just the right amount of residents so get more one-to-one from staff. Lovely home. Thanks to the manager office staff and everyone for looking after her.
Nethermoor House have looked after my Mum now for 2 years. I have the utmost respect for all that work there, they are all very caring people who understand each and every residents particular necessities. The home work very closely with Family members and include them as much as possible so the residents know that input from family members count. I don't have a bad word for anything where Nethermoor House is concerned, I would highly recommend this home to anyone.
In these challenging times over the last 10 months, they have been second to none with the running of the home and keeping COVID at bay. Even when it did happen they were professional throughout.
The home is clean, the residents well looked after and the relatives are informed and asked about and included in anything that is relevant.
I would not hesitate, and in fact, have on a couple of occasions, recommended the home to possible future residents.
My mother has been a resident at Nethermoor House care home for 5 years and is now in her vintage years (92 years old). The staff, in particular with these trying times, do their utmost to ensure the safety and well being of the residents. My mom often tells me she is happy there. I was particularly impressed by how swiftly the home initiated lockdown to help keep Covid at bay, l feel anywhere else and my mom might not be so lucky. The home itself is in beautiful countryside surroundings and residents are able to enjoy being outside weather permitting.
