There is so much happening for the residents to join in and enjoy.
Mom also gets taken to a local coffee morning and she's loving meeting new people.
The staff at the Willows are all incredible they have made Mom and us her family so welcom and included.
The level of care is excellent.

Thank you for everything you do for Mom.

Thank you for the care that you provide for my dad who found it difficult to settle initially. However the team at Princess Lodge have worked hard to establish a good relationship with a man who is not easy to please. They have gone the extra mile to make him feel welcome & settled and have been very accommodating with his dietary requests.

There is always a warm welcome from friendly staff and the home is spotlessly clean & very well maintained, I would highly recommend.

From day one of admission I cannot fault the welcome given. All the help and support given in the early weeks of my brother stay has been truly appreciated. A lot of patience has been needed to a stubborn resident. The staff have had my brothers welfare forefront has he is at risk of falls. Safety measures were immediately put into place. Been a couple of hiccups due to my brothers stubbornness but these have been dealt with. Lovely spacious room. Even the chef is trying to accommodate his palette.

Thank you to all staff

Review of Netherwood Residential Care Home from N M (Husband of Resident) published on 22 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
On the basis of your reviews I opted for Netherwood, initially for respite and then long term dementia care.I in conjunction with wider family decided to withdraw Margaret from Netherwood due to the fact there was some concern whether or not I could continue driving post ophthalmic review and secondly we felt there management issues concerning dementia cases.
Family concerned, were initially impressed by facilities and the attention our case was given by Tracey, however we were uneasy with weekend cover and with what appeared to be segregation of those with dementia from the alert, frail category. There appeared to be segregated dining arrangements and access to the four star lounge area particularly noticeable on weekends.

Another issue was the business practice of forfeiting one months fees in lieu of a months notice ,regardless of circumstances. Although condition was set out in the contract, during times of stress and or emergencies one is not able to take in everything.

My dad is in one of your homes, it's the Princess Lodge in Tipton. My concern is that when things get hot, there isn't any air con, and the staff struggle to cope with the conditions, and I've heard that some of the nurses leave, because they find it hard to keep up with the workload.

Mom has been a resident at The Willows since August 24. She is very happy there, particularly enjoying the regular trips out to the local shops and cafe's and enjoying other events that the staff organise on a frequent basis. The food is of really good quality and Mom is always well fed. The staff are very friendly and sociable as well as professionally delivering on all required care needs.

Reply from Kerry Rotherham-bone, Manager at The Willows

My Mum has been in the Willows since August 2025. This was a huge decision for us to make as she was previously in an independent living facility until the time came when she required further support and care. Mum took the move quite hard as she was in hospital prior to going to the Willows.

I have found the Willows to be an amazing place, a home of warmth and comfort with an incredibly friendly ethos. The staff are awesome in every way possible. They make it their mission to make sure every person there is happy and comfortable. They're communicating all the time with everyone and it feels like home. Every whim is catered for and everyone is made to feel worthwhile and valued. Visitors are welcomed and the conversation flows easily between all staff, residents and friends. Staff are knowledgeable, respectful and supportive. The home itself is very clean and smells good. The activity co-ordinators are excellent, always something to do to keep the mind active and somewhere to go.

Do not put your family members here unless they don't need a lot of care. My mom was here for nearly 3 years and from my visits, she had no drinks available, when i asked they always made an excuse. Her room was always stocked with incontinence pads of which several packets would be open and over the floor. Personal items were damaged & clothes went missing. Staff were forever in the restaurant together chatting / on phones. She had numerous falls causing bruising and hospital visits. The last fall which caused bruising all down 1 side of face & neck and hospital in November 2025 was when the home refused to have her back and didn't even get the offer of their sister home which was supposed to be more focused for dementia clients. When I collected my moms belongings, there was no help off anyone and on a return visit the manager never even looked or spoke to me. There was only 1 person who worked there who said that they had failed my mom in their care.

My wife's stay was just over a week, but even so, the kindness and care shown could not be faulted. Even as visitors, we were treated so sympathetically to the extent that our final vigil refreshments were provided. Regarding the option, the facilities, activities, and value for money did not apply. However, it was obvious from the notice boards that facilities and activities were well catered for.

Where do I begin
My mum has been a resident of this care home for 11 years this year
She has vascular dementia
The care my mum receives is the best and today cements my feelings.
Mum has always received the best care here and today I was again blown away
I get a call from the assistant manager to say the night staff found a bruise on mums finger and didnt know where she had got it from .
They then say they are doing a safe guarding report as they are very transparent about any issues and they dont know how mum bruised her finger
She was checked by the night nurse and then the day nurse to ensure she wasn't in any pain
Also put on the weekly Doctors list to be checked
This is just proof of how much the home care about their residents
I have never worried about mums care as it's the best and this just clarifies it again
Honestly if you have to make a terrible decision to put your parents in s home you certainly cannot go wrong with this care home .

Thank you to all the staff .

Mum has only been at Netherwood for a week. In that week the whole team have been brilliant! From nurse visits to eye tests, they have given her a full MOT whilst showing her gentle kindness and care that she needs.
As a daughter, you worry constantly, but I've had daily calls with updates from members of the care team - they are all upbeat and compassionate..
the place itself is positive and vibrant, every member of staff regardless of their role is friendly and approachable.
It's only been a week, but Netherwood has already exceeded any expectations.

This care home is exceptional. After looking at many care homes in Shropshire this one stood out for us. Exceptionally clean with beautiful gardens which residents use in the warm weather. The staff are very friendly, approachable and empathetic. My mother is extremely happy here, always laughing and having a smile on her face when we visit. There are lots of daily activities that keep the residents happy which my mother really enjoys. There is a cinema and a hairdressing room which are excellent. The food is amazing and the kitchen staff and chef always cater for her needs. Highly recommended.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Netherwood for just over 6 months. During that time, we have come to know a lot of the staff and without exception they are all friendly and approachable and a definite positive is that there does not appear to be a significant turnover in staff.
All the staff know the residents as individuals and treat them accordingly with dignity and respect. The rooms and shared areas are clean and well maintained. We have not actually sampled the food, but the menus appear varied and drink and snacks are provided on a regular basis throughout the day.
Any issues are listened to and dealt with by the appropriate member of staff albeit care staff or management/admin. Any delays are usually outside their control eg waiting for appointments with the appropriate NHS professional.

We now feel we are able to go away for a few days safe in the knowledge that my MIL is safe and well cared for.
