From day one of admission I cannot fault the welcome given. All the help and support given in the early weeks of my brother stay has been truly appreciated. A lot of patience has been needed to a stubborn resident. The staff have had my brothers welfare forefront has he is at risk of falls. Safety measures were immediately put into place. Been a couple of hiccups due to my brothers stubbornness but these have been dealt with. Lovely spacious room. Even the chef is trying to accommodate his palette.

Thank you to all staff

My dad is in one of your homes, it's the Princess Lodge in Tipton. My concern is that when things get hot, there isn't any air con, and the staff struggle to cope with the conditions, and I've heard that some of the nurses leave, because they find it hard to keep up with the workload.

Do not put your family members here unless they don't need a lot of care. My mom was here for nearly 3 years and from my visits, she had no drinks available, when i asked they always made an excuse. Her room was always stocked with incontinence pads of which several packets would be open and over the floor. Personal items were damaged & clothes went missing. Staff were forever in the restaurant together chatting / on phones. She had numerous falls causing bruising and hospital visits. The last fall which caused bruising all down 1 side of face & neck and hospital in November 2025 was when the home refused to have her back and didn't even get the offer of their sister home which was supposed to be more focused for dementia clients. When I collected my moms belongings, there was no help off anyone and on a return visit the manager never even looked or spoke to me. There was only 1 person who worked there who said that they had failed my mom in their care.

Where do I begin
My mum has been a resident of this care home for 11 years this year
She has vascular dementia
The care my mum receives is the best and today cements my feelings.
Mum has always received the best care here and today I was again blown away
I get a call from the assistant manager to say the night staff found a bruise on mums finger and didnt know where she had got it from .
They then say they are doing a safe guarding report as they are very transparent about any issues and they dont know how mum bruised her finger
She was checked by the night nurse and then the day nurse to ensure she wasn't in any pain
Also put on the weekly Doctors list to be checked
This is just proof of how much the home care about their residents
I have never worried about mums care as it's the best and this just clarifies it again
Honestly if you have to make a terrible decision to put your parents in s home you certainly cannot go wrong with this care home .

Thank you to all the staff .

Princess Lodge have been caring for my Mom for almost three years, in which time she has received excellent care. The staff treat the residents like family and go above and beyond to make them feel at home. Since December, my Dad has become a resident thanks to the staff helping to facilitate a transfer from a different care home. He has been made to feel welcome and safe. We chose this home because of the positive experience we previously received with my Mom.

The home was well run by Luanne and always clean and tidy thanks to a great domestic team. Food standards were very good and generally the care provided was also very good. The outstanding feature by far was the activities provided by Beata who was exceptionally hard working organising birthdays and events throughout the year. She went above and beyond not only raising money to support the residents but making their time at Princess Lodge truly enjoyable. I am grateful for her outstanding work ethic and dedication.

We couldn't be more pleased with the care that Dad receives. All the staff are friendly, approachable, helpful and professional. Dad is treated with respect, and dignity and as he has a good sense of fun, this is taken into consideration, and he the carers are wonderful with him, making him laugh and smile again.
When we last visited, Dad told me that he never thought he could be happier anywhere but home, but he is happy at Princess Lodge, and he speaks highly of all the staff there.
Everywhere is clean, and well-maintained, with memorabilia, photos of events etc in the corridors. Dad's room is lovely, and family have been allowed to put up photos, an electronic photo frame etc, to make it homely for him. He also has a tv. The meals smell and look delicious. Dad is also asked what he would like to eat, and is kept topped up with hot and cold drinks. Mum is also made very welcome, at any time of the day.

It gives us peace of mind, to know how well Dad is cared for every day.

My dad loves it here and has been made to feel like part of their family. Everyone has been so kind and friendly, as a family we couldn’t have got him in anywhere nicer. It’s great we can take our dogs in to visit as well. Spotlessly clean and the food looks amazing. Great activities as well to keep them occupied. Would recommend it.

Princess Lodge is an outstanding nursing home and the team of staff there are amazing. It is clear to see that they truly care about the residents, through the level of attention to detail, the kindness and sensitivity shown, and professionalism. The environment itself is pleasant and visits are enjoyable, as it is clear everything is by design and with the residents in mind. Always a warm welcome, communication is outstanding.

My stepdad has been here for a few years now and he loves it there we, as a family, don't have to worry about him anymore as he was living on his own before moving here. The staff from all departments are fantastic, they go above and beyond and keep me updated with everything regarding his care. It's a brilliant little home, it feels like one big family and that's how it should be. Well done Princess Lodge, keep up the good work.

My auntie organised, with the care home, an 80th party for my nan. It was amazing, the staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Every time we visit we never have anything bad to say and the care from the staff is amazing! (Coming from an ex-carer!) 10/10 from me! My auntie couldn't of picked a better care home!

Review from John M (Son of Resident) published on 17 January 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mother has been a resident at Princess Lodge for just over two years. The level of care and compassion for their residents has been exceptional from day one. Whether it be from the owners, managers, nurses, activity coordinator, carers, cleaners, cooks or the handyman the professionalism and genuine care shines through. The varied range of activities providing daily stimulation for residents deserves a special mention, as does all the managers and staff. Special efforts every time a resident has a birthday. The home is very well run reflected in a recent CQC good rating and the major strength that raises it to a standard over and above the norm is the attitude and genuine empathy of all the staff. I can highly recommend Princess Lodge based on my observations and experience over the last two years they have cared for my mum!
