I would like to thank all the staff at this nursing home, for looking after my dad, for the care and attention he received in his final weeks in the home, he was happy there, the home was very clean and welcoming and the staff were helpful and caring. I'll give this home a 5 star rating.

This is a beautiful home. It's clean, welcoming and a lovely environment. Mom gets wonderful care, all of her needs are met and she is encouraged to take part in the wealth of activities on offer. The home works closely with social workers and third parties involved in mom's care which makes life easier.
The
home also meets the needs of my family. There are no restrictions to visiting (apart from being sensible) which means I can always visit when it suits me. This is something I really appreciate. The space and environment is calm, I love the pub! My son who has autism wants to visit where he has found this difficult previously. He is able to engage with mom and they enjoy spending time with each other. The manager and his team are approachable and make you feel that you are the only one that matters. I have peace of mind and love that when I come, all I have to do is spend quality time with mom. Fabulous!

It has taken me a while to write this review because words seem quite small in comparison to the fantastic care, compassion, love and friendship that is given in this wonderful home by the Woodgreen Team. I say team because they are, every staff member goes the extra mile. They know what is needed
and it's done before you realise it. Mum made Woodgreen her home in 2018 when dementia took hold and she was no longer safe in her own home, until she passed away in January. The wonderful team became her extended family full of care, compassion, understanding and love. When mum became confined to bed she was never left out, if she couldn't get to the activity, it came to her. I don't live locally and the trust I had in the Manager and his team was endless. When mum's time came to say goodbye the same care, compassion and love was shown to us. I can say hand on heart and from experience that if you choose Woodgreen as a home for your loved one or friend you really can't go wrong.

Thank you so much for sharing your heartfelt review. Your words truly capture the dedication and compassion of the staff here at Woodgreen Nursing Home, and it's wonderful to hear how you considered us as an extended family for both you and your mum. The personalised attention and understanding shown, especially during such challenging times, speak volumes about our commitment to residents and their families. Your trust in us is a testament to the quality of care we provide. Thank you for recommending Woodgreen so highly; your experience will surely help others in making an important decision for their loved ones.

My stepmom was only a resident for 2 weeks before she passed away on 16/4/25. I so wish she could have been in this lovely care home for much longer or could have agreed to go in there earlier to enjoy her final years. I cannot fault anything; every member of staff went above and beyond. Everything
I asked for was given without delay. My stepmom was very well cared for with respect and dignity before and after she passed. It's so nice to see that this home has everything.

My mother has been a resident at this home for over 12 months she is very settled and well taken care of.
The staff are very attentive and friendly, has I've been in health care myself I have seen how well run the home is.
Would recommend this home if you have a loved one that needs full time care.

Woodgreen Nursing Home has been excellent in every way for our mom's care. The management has gone above and beyond to make our mom's passing, peaceful and comfortable. The nurses and carers are 'the best' they have loved and cared for our mom as we would. Mom was always clean, fed, washed, showered
and more. Mom was always being entertained and sat in front of the TV, and the windows as we asked. I cannot express how grateful we are for all their help and support during Mom's passing.

My mom has been at Woodgreen for 6 years with dementia. The care at Woodgreen Nursing Home is excellent from management, carers, nurses, kitchen staff and domestic, they have respected my mom throughout these 6 years especially these last two weeks, as a big family there was no problem of us staying
there with our mom made us feel so comfortable, fed us which was fantastic. Again, would like to say a big thank you to the manager and his team for everything.

We couldn't be more pleased with the care that Dad receives. All the staff are friendly, approachable, helpful and professional. Dad is treated with respect, and dignity and as he has a good sense of fun, this is taken into consideration, and he the carers are wonderful with him, making him laugh and
smile again.
When we last visited, Dad told me that he never thought he could be happier anywhere but home, but he is happy at Princess Lodge, and he speaks highly of all the staff there.
Everywhere is clean, and well-maintained, with memorabilia, photos of events etc in the corridors. Dad's room is lovely, and family have been allowed to put up photos, an electronic photo frame etc, to make it homely for him. He also has a tv. The meals smell and look delicious. Dad is also asked what he would like to eat, and is kept topped up with hot and cold drinks. Mum is also made very welcome, at any time of the day.
It gives us peace of mind, to know how well Dad is cared for every day.

My father was made welcome from the beginning. Overall he has enjoyed his two week respite. He made good the opportunity to talk with staff, carers, chefs, cleaners and laundry. He enjoyed the animal man, the food, the garden is amazing, he loved the outdoors. The upstairs room on occasion was hot on
the good weather days. His bed was changed at request to a normal devan. He slept better. He said he felt a little too lost at times, not sure what he should be doing.

Woodgreen Nursing is a super top home It is extremely clean, the staff are excellent kitchen staff cleaners H.C.A staff and nursing staff, especially the manager who was fully part of the team when it came to hands-on. Another couple of staff members were marvellous too, nothing in this home was too
much, they were polite, courteous and maintained privacy and dignity at all times. They were very quick to answer call bells and were proactive. If I could reward a home for how they made my sister feel and us as a family during our traumatic time it would be this place. I watched them attend to our family member with great care and respect. Kitchen staff could not do enough to make us welcome and cared for, excellent. I cannot praise them all enough but outstanding care respect and dignity. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

The staff are always friendly and helpful and will help my brother whenever possible, even to the extent of fetching a curry for him. He seems to get on well with all of them. It would be helpful if some of them had training to understand Parkinsons Disease which he has, apparently, they have never
had a Parkinsons resident before and he gets frustrated when they don't understand him because he gets freezing sessions where his brain won't work properly.

My best friend of over 50 years has been a resident for the last couple of years. The care home is a fantastic place. They do so much for the residents, taking them out to visit places such as museums and providing a lot of good quality entertainment. They also involve the residents in a lot of activities
such as craft work relevant to the time of year such as Halloween and Easter.

My mother had been caring alone for my father, for many years, without outside help as he would not let any other carers attend to him the result of this, just as covid started, when they were both in hospital - he following a fall and she for complete collapse followed by a Dementia diagnosis. Neither
could return to their home and both were admitted by Solihull Council to The Friendly Inn Care Home.

With all the stress lifted, my mother has thrived here, she is back to health and back to a healthy weight, she tells me every time I see her how lovely everyone is and that she is spoilt having everything done for her now. Staff really do seem to care for her with regular hugs and chats.

A knitting group (her favourite pastime) has recently been set up and in the summer there is the garden (her other love). Thankfully, now Covid is no longer the issue it was, trips out have started up again and she loves those.

Could not recommend them more highly.

Reply from Jordan Roberts, Home Manager at The Friendly Inn
