My wife's stay was just over a week, but even so, the kindness and care shown could not be faulted. Even as visitors, we were treated so sympathetically to the extent that our final vigil refreshments were provided. Regarding the option, the facilities, activities, and value for money did not apply.
However, it was obvious from the notice boards that facilities and activities were well catered for.
Reply from Adam Toomer-Smith, Care Home Manager at Woodgreen Nursing HomeThank you very much for your kind and thoughtful comments regarding your wife's stay with us.

Although her time at Woodgreen Nursing Home was relatively short, we are truly pleased to hear that both you and your wife felt supported, cared for, and treated with kindness throughout such an emotional and difficult period. Providing compassionate care and ensuring families feel welcomed and supported is extremely important to us, particularly during end-of-life care and final visits with loved ones.

Your comments regarding the refreshments provided during your final vigil are especially appreciated, and we are glad that our team could offer some comfort at that time.

We also appreciate your acknowledgment of the facilities and activities available within the home. Our staff work very hard to create a warm, engaging, and supportive environment for all residents and their families.

Thank you once again for taking the time to share your experience and for your generous feedback.

My dad moved to Woodgreen after family care at home. Dads was looked after in his last 5 days by exceptional staff who went over and above their duties to ensure he, and his family were cared for and supported. Nothing was too much trouble.
Kindness and professionalism was appreciated during his stay
and when he died.
Reply from Adam Toomer-Smith, Care Home Manager at Woodgreen Nursing HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. We are truly sorry for your loss.

It means a great deal to us that you felt your dad was cared for with kindness, dignity and professionalism during his final days. Supporting both our residents and their families at such an important and emotional time is something we take great pride in, and your feedback reassures us that our team provided the level of care and compassion we always strive for.

I will ensure your comments are shared with the staff involved, as I know they will be deeply touched to know the difference they made.

Where do I begin
My mum has been a resident of this care home for 11 years this year
She has vascular dementia
The care my mum receives is the best and today cements my feelings.
Mum has always received the best care here and today I was again blown away
I get a call from the assistant manager
to say the night staff found a bruise on mums finger and didnt know where she had got it from .
They then say they are doing a safe guarding report as they are very transparent about any issues and they dont know how mum bruised her finger
She was checked by the night nurse and then the day nurse to ensure she wasn't in any pain
Also put on the weekly Doctors list to be checked
This is just proof of how much the home care about their residents
I have never worried about mums care as it's the best and this just clarifies it again
Honestly if you have to make a terrible decision to put your parents in s home you certainly cannot go wrong with this care home .
Thank you to all the staff .
Reply from Adam Toomer-Smith, Care Home Manager at Princess Lodge Nursing HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share this. Your words genuinely mean a great deal to us.
To have cared for your mum for 11 years is a privilege we never take for granted. Supporting someone living with vascular dementia requires consistency, vigilance and compassion, and we are proud to have been alongside her - and you - throughout that journey.
We believe that good care is not just about responding to significant events, but about noticing the smallest changes and acting on them. The fact that the night team identified the bruise, escalated it immediately, involved the nurses, and initiated safeguarding procedures reflects exactly the culture we strive to maintain: transparency, accountability and proactive clinical oversight. Even when the cause is unknown, our responsibility is to investigate, document and ensure your mum's safety and comfort at every stage.
I am particularly pleased that you felt informed and reassured by the communication from the Assistant Manager.

Princess Lodge have been caring for my Mom for almost three years, in which time she has received excellent care. The staff treat the residents like family and go above and beyond to make them feel at home. Since December, my Dad has become a resident thanks to the staff helping to facilitate a transfer
from a different care home. He has been made to feel welcome and safe. We chose this home because of the positive experience we previously received with my Mom.

The home was well run by Luanne and always clean and tidy thanks to a great domestic team. Food standards were very good and generally the care provided was also very good. The outstanding feature by far was the activities provided by Beata who was exceptionally hard working organising birthdays and
events throughout the year. She went above and beyond not only raising money to support the residents but making their time at Princess Lodge truly enjoyable. I am grateful for her outstanding work ethic and dedication.
Reply from Adam Toomer-Smith, Care Home Manager at Princess Lodge Nursing HomeThank you, A, for sharing such warm and detailed feedback. We are delighted to hear your positive reflections on the management, cleanliness, food standards, and care provided. Your kind words about Beatas dedication and creativity mean a great deal; her commitment to meaningful activities and resident enjoyment is something we are truly proud of. We will ensure your appreciation is passed on to her and the wider team. Thank you once again for taking the time to recognise their hard work and for your support of Princess Lodge.

My parents have both been residents at Wood Green Nursing home. My mom's been living in there for just over three years and my dad had a short stay a few months ago due to being on end of life. I can't fault the amazing care they provide not only to my parents but all residents. All staff are so compassionate,
caring and supportive. They have a good knowledge of my mom's dementia and understand her individual needs. While my dad was on end of life the care was second to none. Constantly checking in on him to ensuring all his needs were met and supporting me through this difficult time. I would not have got through this difficult time without the support from the amazing staff. I will never be able to thank them enough. Wood Green Nursing home is not just a care home it's a real home to all the residents and their families. Thank you so much for everything you do.

more relaxed and comfortable and her medication is taken care of so I feel safe knowing she is been taken care of and her needs are being taken care of she is very much aware of her surroundings

This is a beautiful home. It's clean, welcoming and a lovely environment. Mom gets wonderful care, all of her needs are met and she is encouraged to take part in the wealth of activities on offer. The home works closely with social workers and third parties involved in mom's care which makes life easier.
The
home also meets the needs of my family. There are no restrictions to visiting (apart from being sensible) which means I can always visit when it suits me. This is something I really appreciate. The space and environment is calm, I love the pub! My son who has autism wants to visit where he has found this difficult previously. He is able to engage with mom and they enjoy spending time with each other. The manager and his team are approachable and make you feel that you are the only one that matters. I have peace of mind and love that when I come, all I have to do is spend quality time with mom. Fabulous!

It has taken me a while to write this review because words seem quite small in comparison to the fantastic care, compassion, love and friendship that is given in this wonderful home by the Woodgreen Team. I say team because they are, every staff member goes the extra mile. They know what is needed
and it's done before you realise it. Mum made Woodgreen her home in 2018 when dementia took hold and she was no longer safe in her own home, until she passed away in January. The wonderful team became her extended family full of care, compassion, understanding and love. When mum became confined to bed she was never left out, if she couldn't get to the activity, it came to her. I don't live locally and the trust I had in the Manager and his team was endless. When mum's time came to say goodbye the same care, compassion and love was shown to us. I can say hand on heart and from experience that if you choose Woodgreen as a home for your loved one or friend you really can't go wrong.
Reply from Adam Toomer-Smith, Care Home Manager at Woodgreen Nursing HomeThank you so much for sharing your heartfelt review. Your words truly capture the dedication and compassion of the staff here at Woodgreen Nursing Home, and it's wonderful to hear how you considered us as an extended family for both you and your mum. The personalised attention and understanding shown, especially during such challenging times, speak volumes about our commitment to residents and their families. Your trust in us is a testament to the quality of care we provide. Thank you for recommending Woodgreen so highly; your experience will surely help others in making an important decision for their loved ones.

My stepmom was only a resident for 2 weeks before she passed away on 16/4/25. I so wish she could have been in this lovely care home for much longer or could have agreed to go in there earlier to enjoy her final years. I cannot fault anything; every member of staff went above and beyond. Everything
I asked for was given without delay. My stepmom was very well cared for with respect and dignity before and after she passed. It's so nice to see that this home has everything.

Woodgreen Nursing Home has been excellent in every way for our mom's care. The management has gone above and beyond to make our mom's passing, peaceful and comfortable. The nurses and carers are 'the best' they have loved and cared for our mom as we would. Mom was always clean, fed, washed, showered
and more. Mom was always being entertained and sat in front of the TV, and the windows as we asked. I cannot express how grateful we are for all their help and support during Mom's passing.

My mom has been at Woodgreen for 6 years with dementia. The care at Woodgreen Nursing Home is excellent from management, carers, nurses, kitchen staff and domestic, they have respected my mom throughout these 6 years especially these last two weeks, as a big family there was no problem of us staying
there with our mom made us feel so comfortable, fed us which was fantastic. Again, would like to say a big thank you to the manager and his team for everything.

We couldn't be more pleased with the care that Dad receives. All the staff are friendly, approachable, helpful and professional. Dad is treated with respect, and dignity and as he has a good sense of fun, this is taken into consideration, and he the carers are wonderful with him, making him laugh and
smile again.
When we last visited, Dad told me that he never thought he could be happier anywhere but home, but he is happy at Princess Lodge, and he speaks highly of all the staff there.
Everywhere is clean, and well-maintained, with memorabilia, photos of events etc in the corridors. Dad's room is lovely, and family have been allowed to put up photos, an electronic photo frame etc, to make it homely for him. He also has a tv. The meals smell and look delicious. Dad is also asked what he would like to eat, and is kept topped up with hot and cold drinks. Mum is also made very welcome, at any time of the day.
It gives us peace of mind, to know how well Dad is cared for every day.
