Dewar Close is situated on the outskirts of Rugby, in the small village of Bilton. Dewar Close benefits from being close to a range of local facilities, including shops, a post office, chemist, fish and chip shop, florist and bus route.

Offering long-term care and respite care for older people, Dewar Close is comprised of three households, each boasting a living area with a lounge, dining area and kitchenette, where people can live independently with help on hand when they need it.

The open living area is a central hub for each household where people can get together and socialise with other residents, family and friends. The large, secure gardens have seating areas, planted spaces and raised beds where their residents and staff can grow fruit and vegetables.

The team at the home work hard to offer residents an engaging lifestyle. As well as regular activities and trips out in the local community, there is also a beauty salon where residents can have a little TLC.

Dewar Close have worked wonders for Dad. He was really struggling before he arrived this summer but because of the tailored care and attention from staff he soon felt safe and cared for, he started eating and drinking properly again, watching TV and laughing. It was a wonderful transformation and meant
the world to us as a family. Staff are not only very caring with regard to residents but are very welcoming to us and we feel very much at home visiting, and any queries we have had by phone or email are always replied to fully and very promptly. Excellent.

Mum settled very well as the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Her care needs are met, and she is receptive to the care given. The care and office staff are professional and caring. They are always happy to make any tweaks to Mum's care plan as new things arise.

This is a very caring environment where staff think about the needs of residents and adapt to individuals. Mum has dementia with a decline in ability to communicate but the staff never give up on interacting with her.

My aunt has been a resident for over five years now and has received excellent care throughout this time. The staff are very caring and helpful. They take the time to sit and chat to my aunt which is something that she enjoys very much.
There is always a good choice of well prepared food on offer and
my aunt not only enjoys the meals but thrives on them. When she moved in she was very weak but the fact that she has now been there for such a long time is testament to the quality of the care provided.

The visitor coordinator is extremely helpful and always willing to help. The bungalow is a great facility which has allowed me to continue regular contact with my dad, especially during the very cold and wet months.
As things are opening up we're hoping to have more outside visits.
One aspect which
has been hard is when my dad has had to quarantine following a hospital visit. This is extremely isolating being confined to his room with little interaction. This has affected my dad's mental health.

The staff at Dewar Close have helped us through one of the most difficult and upsetting periods in our life as a family. My dad was taken in as a new resident during the pandemic. The staff have been so caring and thoughtful. I know my dad would rather be living in his own home, but I also know that
as far as his dementia allows, he enjoys this new phase at Dewar Close. I don't know what we would have done without Dewar and its amazing team.

My sister has been resident at Dewar Close for 10 months and we have never been inside the home because of the pandemic. We have always been able to visit by booking visiting appointments; visits took place initially in the garden, then outside the conservatory with the resident inside the patio doors;
more recently a visiting pod has been available.
The visiting system has been superbly overseen. We have not assessed many aspects because we have no knowledge of them, not having been inside the home, nor met with many staff.

His is quite difficult to complete due to Covid restrictions making visiting inside the home impossible, however when we do visit in the safe area, we have found it to be clean and bright. Really unable to comment on food and drink for the above reason, those boxes not ticked are also for the same reason.
I will be happy to give my views in a more detailed review once normal visiting is allowed.

My relative has been warmly welcomed into the home and supported compassionately by the staff during the Covid-19 pandemic. The senior managers have supported me to care for her remotely and responded promptly and positively to my requests for medical and other interventions. Her carers have made an
effort to get to know her and to enjoy her company. Her room and the shared rooms are light and bright, clean and well-tended. The restricted visiting arrangements have been implemented with flexibility and tenderness by the visit coordinator. It is a great benefit to be able to read online the daily care records for my relative and staff are willing to respond to queries I have arising from those records.

My mum was being moved for the fourth time in two years and I was not happy about it. Dewar Close is a lovely home with receptive, kind and efficient staff.

Everyone is very kind and helpful to my husband who is in a wheelchair permanently. He gets on well with the staff.
We had one problem when his wheelchair had not been cleaned at night. This was sorted very quickly and the manageress sent me a letter apologising for this, which I was very touched by

The home and staff are excellent. Staff are very understanding and caring, nothing is too much trouble. They go above and beyond to help.
