Longmoor Lodge Care Home is a purpose-built care home that is ideal for residential and dementia care, allowing residents to pursue a satisfying and independent lifestyle while having access to talented professionals.

Carers offer residents and their families the support they need during what many find some of the most trying times of their lives. Families are truly grateful for the personal support they receive, when faced with one of life's very difficult decisions and the team pride themselves on continuing that support to residents and their families from the moment they contact the home throughout the whole of their stay and beyond.

The approach to care is simple - look after the person and not the ailment/condition alone - Carers want to get to know their residents and their families, thus enabling them to look after the whole person and not just to concentrate on the task in hand. Staff get to know their clients, who they are, who they were and how they have come to be at the home. Carers get to know their families too and like to understand the dynamics within the family setting and how best they can support these as they build a relationship of trust. They understand that choosing a care home is not just about excellent amenities, but about a true and real understanding of relationships being nurtured, trust being built and a life being lived. Professionals believe in true, real and honest care and keep this at the heart of their approach.

The home welcomes long stay residents but also those wanting a shorter stay, perhaps for rehabilitation or convalescence or to build confidence after a fall. Has also offered respite care and support to those suffering from nervous conditions following a break in at their home.

Hill Care have are well respected in the North of England for a homely range of care accommodations that incorporate the latest sector technology and recognised good practice.

My dad has been a resident at Longmoor Lodge Care Home for over 2 years. We are very happy with the service he has. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. The manager is very friendly and approachable. Longmoor feels like home to me and my family which is a good vibe for my dad. I feel that when I
walk away and go home I know my dad is very well looked after.

My father has been living at Longmoor Lodge for the past few years. He is well cared for and his daily care needs are well met. He is not a "joiner" and prefers to be left alone to read and watch TV. He finds the staff very friendly and polite and some of the staff take an interest in his life and achievements
and will have a chat with him which he enjoys. The manager has been very helpful in keeping my dad in touch with his family who live in another country and she is always on hand to answer my emails and queries.

My dad has been going to Longmoor Lodge for 2 and a half years for respite and now has been a permanent resident for 5 months. As most people who go into a residential home want to go home as they are away from their home and family. My dad said if he can't be at home there is nowhere else he would
rather be. The food is lovely and freshly made, the place is clean and lovely decorated and the staff, well what can I say, they are amazing! So caring and friendly and that's not only to my dad but to us all as a family. We take our dog and all the residents and staff love her!
This was a very hard decision for my mum and the rest of the family but we are very happy that he is being well cared for and safe.

All the staff are amazing. The home could do with being decorated with some bright colour and the bedrooms need some care as they are a bit dull. When the lady who does the entertainment is in she is brilliant but when she is off they don't do anything other than sit around going to sleep. I think something
needs to happen when she is off.

Thank you for taking the time to review Longmoor Lodge. I will ensure that your positive comments are fed back to the staff team in the home, who I would agree are amazing. Thank you for the feedback on the decoration and activity. I am pleased to inform you that our maintenance team are starting a program of redecoration and I hope you will soon notice and be pleased with the improvements. In regard to activity, you may have noticed that we have now set up an activity area in the home with resources that can be easily accessed at all times. We are also allocating a carer daily to be responsible for activity both to support the activity coordinator when she is in the home and to promote activity when she is not.

I found the staff extremely caring and supportive. My mother often complimented various members of staff for their help and kindness.
Whilst some of the facilities required updating or replacing e.g. washbasin taps and carpets, the facilities provided were more than adequate.
The care given to my
mum by both the day and night staff during her final days was faultless.
The overall care provided to my mum was very good.

Mum entered Longmoor Lodge feeling angry and abandoned. The dedicated staff loved her, fed her, they spoke in a very gentle way and encouraged conversation and making new memories. Longmoor Lodge became her "happy place" and gave her back the big family she once had. Thank you to the manager and your
wonderful staff, you gave her dignity, and self-worth and made every day worth living for. Thank you for the warm and friendly interaction with the family and the big hugs when the tears flowed. We are truly grateful.

My mother went into Longmoor Lodge Care Home in December 2019 after a short stay in hospital. From the onset, she was made to feel welcome, just like one big family. Apart from Covid, we have been able to visit at any time with no appointment needed. All staff have the caring ability that is needed
in this profession, not just to residents but their families. My mother was prone to falls and had Covid twice, I was informed at all times of any medical care needed. Unfortunately, after another short stay in hospital, she went back to the Lodge for palliative care. The staff were exceptionally caring to her and myself and I was welcome to stay as long and as often as I needed to. All the care she received was documented and available for me to read. I can not praise this care home high enough. They are always pleasant and attentive to all residents and try to make them feel relaxed and settled.

My father was referred to Longmoor Lodge Care Home in an assessment bed after being discharged from Hospital. He spent nearly 10 weeks at Longmoor Lodge and the staff welcomed him from day one.
Every member of staff went out of their way to look after him during his stay and to keep me informed and
welcome me on my frequent visits.
He had his 100th Birthday during his stay and the staff made that a very special day for him with an afternoon tea for all residents, a lovely birthday cake, banners and presents from the Lodge and residents. This was especially touching, as he hadn't been a resident for long at that point.
We were very satisfied with the level of care Dad received. Thank you.

My mother became a resident at Longmoor Lodge in January 2022 following a short spell in hospital and has settled in and become quite content there after some initial doubt. The staff have all been very supportive and a great comfort to me and my mum after what has been a very unsettling time. I was
especially pleased at how quickly they all came to know Mum and also me every time I called or visited. It was really nice to always get to speak to someone when necessary and also that they knew how Mum was without having to go and consult with someone else. The staff are always very caring and attentive to Mum and this gives us great peace of mind knowing Mum is being cared for.

The most amazing place... I can sleep at night knowing my dad is safe and cared for. He isn't just a number... A bloke in room whatever. He's a person to the staff... A person who is loved and deeply cared for. Its his extended family. The staff work so hard but they never fail to drop in and talk to
him... Anticipate his needs... Go the extra mile to accommodate him. Its our second home and we are truly grateful for the care he receives as well as the care and support we receive too. Its a lovely cheerful place... I'm very happy.

Not only did they look after mom in her last few weeks retaining her dignity, but they also looked after me and my sister too. The staff really care about the residents and that made a huge difference to us knowing she was being cared for when we were not there. They all work so hard every shift.

Very pleased with how the resident I was visiting was feeling and what was said regarding care and making the resident feel comfortable and doesn't want to be anywhere else! The family feel relieved to know this, as have concerns of resident coping on their own ability, and are overall really pleased
with the care bring received and a weight off their shoulders.

My mother has spent a short time in Longmoor Lodge whilst her bathroom was converted to a wet room/walk-in shower. She had never been in a care home before so she was very nervous. She is 91 years of age with early memory loss and doubly incontinent. She uses a zimmer frame to get around. The staff
were very friendly and made her feel welcome, trying to make her integrate with some of the other residents, of which she did. She had a lovely bedroom with ensuite toilet/basin. The rooms, dining/lounge leisure room and bedrooms were clean and little odours throughout. A good home.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.181)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.181) out of 10 for Longmoor Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.511 for Longmoor Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (54 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 92 Ratings = 4.511
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.67 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Longmoor Lodge Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 46 registered maximum number of service users is 9.2. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.2 = 0.87
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
