It was a very hard decision as a family to place my grandfather into a care home, my grandfather is very well taken care off, he has put on weight, he is smiling, well groomed and has made friends, the care team are so caring and compassionate nothing is too much trouble, the manager listens and was aware how nervous we were as a family with the process, we are completely reassured and want to thank everybody for being amazing. I can visit my grandfather and leave the home knowing he is very well taken care of as a family this means the world.

Whetstone Grange has been exceptional for my gran. From the very beginning, the staff made her feel at home, and she settled in far quicker than we ever expected. The carers are genuinely kind, attentive, and respectful - nothing ever feels like too much trouble. The home itself is always spotless, the food is great (my gran always mentions whenever I visit her), and there are plenty of activities to keep residents engaged and happy. The communication with our family has been brilliant too - we're always kept in the loop and made to feel welcome when we visit. I honestly couldn't ask for more. It's a huge relief knowing she's somewhere safe, comfortable, and cared for by people who really do go above and beyond. Highly recommend.

Whetstone Grange truly is an exceptional care home, filled with compassion and warmth. The care staff are wonderful - kind, attentive, and always ready with a smile. It's such a comfort knowing my aunt is so well looked after in a place that feels more like a home than a facility.

Since the new owners took over - and especially since the new manager came in - the home has had a complete makeover. It's been transformed! The new garden is absolutely lovely and such a peaceful space for residents and visitors alike. The Garden Party was well worth it with all the smiles! The whole place feels fresh, modern, and full of life.

The atmosphere is always welcoming, and the activities are fantastic - they really go the extra mile to keep residents engaged and happy. Every visit is a pleasure, and I always leave feeling reassured and grateful. I can't recommend Whetstone Grange highly enough.

The room my mother has is nice and warm . We have put up personal effects, to make it feel homely, Family photos, Paintings, artificial flowers.
It did take a while for My mother to settle in, but the staff were all very friendly, and helpful and now my Mother is happy and content to live there, the staff are more like friends than carers. Also there are lots of daily activities, and she joins in with them all. This has helped her make new friends with other residents.
Lots of improvements have been made to furnishings, and lighting, painting and decorating.

My mother is very impressed with the laundry service, often getting any laundry returned the same day.

I moved my father from another care home to Whetstone Grange last November, as he had been very unhappy. From the moment he arrived, the team at Whetstone were wonderful - kind, caring, professional, patient and understanding. They treated dad (and everyone I saw) like family - encouraging him to socialise, making sure he was content and happy when in his (very pleasant) room, which he loved, especially the view he was fortunate enough to have. The home is clean, fresh, light and inviting, good food and has improved no end since being under new management. I can wholeheartedly recommend Whetstone Grange.

Overall Experience
My mother had been In Whetstone Grange from December 2016 until February 2022. In the beginning, she was very unsettled, as expected.
Since 2016 we have seen many changes in this care home, which has improved greatly. It was revamped, new secure windows, new furniture and redecorated.
My mother’s acceptance of being in care did settle, to believing she was staying in a hotel, on holidays or just enjoying herself. She would join in with the singing and dancing regularly, go off to talk with other residents and made some new friends. This was a home from home, which is why it was chosen in the first place.
Whetstone Grange definitely improved each time I visited, however, the garden area never looked anything other than an uninviting backyard. Many times I mentioned this, so maybe that too will be revamped this year.

I never had to give notice I was coming. Always made welcome by the staff by name. The care given to my mother by all staff and the local authorities was second to none. Thanks.

I feel that this home looks after my mother-in-law's needs but it could do with some money spending on it eg new blinds and curtains downstairs as, during the hot weather, the heat was too much. Fans mounted on the wall would help and the flooring upstairs is very marked and stained. Also, daily activities to keep residents occupied instead of being left to sit around all day. The only issue I have regarding care is residents can be left for quite a while when asking to use the toilet (depending on carers). On the whole, most staff are welcoming and friendly.

My mum went into Whetstone Grange after leaving another care home where she was very poorly. The staff at Whetstone Grange have been amazing as my mum is now walking after four months as no one got her out of bed before, my mum also due to being very poorly and lost 6 stone but Whetstone Grange has now made her become a healthy weight. The staff have a very challenging job but always keep smiling.
