My wife has been a resident of Portland House for almost two years and throughout the whole of this time the home has provided a most excellent and caring service. I, or a member of my family, visit almost every day, and we are all reassured by the high quality of management and of social and medical
care. On entering the premises, you are greeted with smiles and the warmth generated by the staff. This feels exceptional. It is a pleasure and totally reassuring to know that my wife is so well cared for by such a professional, efficient and caring team.

My father has been going to Holmfield for a few months now. It gives us both a break from each other as I care for him 24/7. He thoroughly enjoys his time at Holmfield. He plays games, sings a long to music on music days, and he's just won a fabulous home baked cake in the Pink cancer raffle. The staff
and manager are always smiling and cheerful which sets the atmosphere. I'm so pleased we found this respite home, and I'd like to thank all the staff and Freia, the manager, for everything you do for all of the residents.
Reply from Alexandra Cooke, Customer Engagement at Holmfield Day CentreThank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely and heartfelt review - it truly made our day here! We're absolutely delighted to hear that your father enjoys his time with us and that the activities are bringing him joy. It's wonderful to know the centre is giving you both some valuable breathing space while he's in a happy, welcoming environment. The team will be thrilled to read your kind words - they work so hard to keep everyone smiling, and feedback like yours means the world to them. We feel very lucky to have your dad as part of our Holmfield family and to be able to support you both. Please pass on our love to him, and thank you again for trusting us with his care. My mum came into Enderby Grange in September 2025. It was a hard decision to make, but Mum has settled really well and is obviously well cared for. She is getting a lot more interaction than when she was at home, and she is safe. All of the staff are lovely and its obvious that Mum likes them.
Reply from Alexandra Cooke, Customer Engagement at Enderby GrangeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review - we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
We know how difficult the decision to move a loved one into care can be, so it means a great deal to hear that your mum has settled in so well at Enderby Grange since September. It's wonderful to know she's enjoying more interaction, feels safe, and has built such positive relationships with the team - they absolutely adore her too! Everyone here is committed to making Enderby Grange feel like home, and feedback like yours lets us know we're getting it right for your mum and for you. We're very grateful to have her as part of our little family and to be able to support you both during this transition.

My mum has been at Parkhouse Grange for almost 2 years and overall I have been very satisfied with the care provided. I would say that 99.9% of staff are very caring, hardworking people. There are times however when there appears to be no carers present in the lounge areas. I don't think this is because
they are taking regular breaks, but may be due to not enough staff being on duty. I do appreciate that they are in constant demand and carry out very challenging roles. I hope the staff are valued for their commitment and hard work which is evident.

George Hythe House Residential Care Home

Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
As the grandson of a resident, I can confidently say that this care home has been a blessing for our entire family. From the moment my grandfather moved in, we were welcomed with warmth, understanding, and genuine compassion. The staff treat him not just as a resident, but as a person-with dignity,
patience, and kindness.
He often tells us how much he enjoys the meals, the activities, and especially the company. It's a huge comfort knowing he's safe, well cared for, and in an environment that truly feels like home. Whenever we visit, we see how happy and relaxed he is, and that peace of mind is priceless.
Thank you to everyone at George Hythe house for giving our family the gift of knowing our loved one is in such capable and caring hands. You've made a difficult transition so much easier, and we're incredibly grateful.

The home were very helpful when my brother and I came to look around separately. We felt the home had a warm and friendly atmosphere - when Mum moved in, we experienced this. We, and Mum, were always offered drinks when we visited Mum. Mum interacted well with the staff, who were very attentive and
caring. The room she had was lovely, and she ate well whilst she was there. Communication was good with the home, and they were very respectful and understanding near the end of Mum's life.
