I'm so pleased we chose Alston House care home for my mum, there is a sense of family togetherness, a genuine care from the management and all the staff towards all the residents. My mum appears to enjoy all the very good activities and Alston House looks after my mum's dietary needs very well. I can't
speak highly enough of this care home.

Everything seems a lot better here from the limited time I've spent visiting here, unlike the home he was in that put him in hospital so all is good so far.

I cannot fault the care my Mum receives. She is always supported with respect, compassion, and dignity. The surroundings are clean, the food excellent and my mum's needs are very well supported. Her room is always clean and fresh.

Very pleased with my wife's treatment since she came into the care home. Now she does not sleep all day, shes more alert, eats her meals now, and has more conscious talking. The family is very happy with her treatment.

I am 51 and stayed for a few months to regain the use of my leg after having half my foot removed 6 months in hospital. I came in by wheelchair and ambulance I left walking. The staff are amazing great people amazing friendly and respect each and everyone it is really like a large family and it works
so very well. The residents love them all I was happy to go home to my family. But so sad to leave this one. Crafts lady absolute star. She's so good a little councillor as well always spare time to chat one to one. But so was all the staff. Housekeeper did his shift then will always come and chat to the people who are a little shy and don't mix too much lovely guy. Chef will cook whatever you ask care staff nothing too much. Four members of staff in particular, one with her baby bump. Lots of members of staff. Amazing and of course the manager and another member of staff in particular, I thank you all.

You lost a very good chef and once again the staff have to help with meals. Your staff at Alston House pull together and work well as a team. Mum says she is looked after well, to me means a lot. Mum is happy, I'm happy. On the days when a particular member of staff is not there, there seems to be no
entertainment only the TV. Talking to the residents even about olden times and what they remember. I have read some like to be hand-held, I say hello to all and hold hands. I know all in the lounge by name and talk to all.

Alston House Residential Care Home continues to impress me and my family with the phenomenal support and attention they give my aunty. The staff are so loving and conscientious to the residents. It's a pleasure to see my aunty actually enjoy her time at Alston home. Her health seems to have improved
and she's infinitely better off here than at home on her own. The social side and activities organised by the staff keep her engaged and entertained, which really makes all the difference to my aunty's well-being and happiness. A big thank you to all the staff. Setting the standards for all other homes to aim for.

Since coming into the home, my aunt is getting the care she needs to feel safe and have a quality of life that had escaped her. Old age is a journey followed best with care around and this is now the case. Gained weight and feeling safe. A good level of care.

We are in England for a month to visit Mum. We have been pleasantly surprised as to how well she has adapted to life At Alston House. Whenever we have called we have witnessed the care workers interacting with residents with care and genuine desire for their well-being. The management has been efficient
and accommodating. The best endorsement has come from our Mum when asked about how she would mark Alston House out of 10. She said '9 and a half because you always have to leave a little room for improvement'. You can't say fairer than that.

The staff do the very best that they can. Over the pandemic period, they continued to work in a safe way in regard to visitation rights. The last two years have been very tough on care staff, this is not forgotten by me. The staff at Alston House are a credit to their profession.

Since my brother's health deteriorated (covid and pneumonia) he has been confined to his bed. The care he has received has been second to none. The staff have shown compassion and a caring attitude at all times. Due to his inactivity over a long period of time, remarkably there are no signs of pressure
sores. All staff need to be recognised for all their hard work and dedication.
