The care given at Parkhouse Grange is excellent. I cannot fault it. However, the condition of the rooms and furnishings leaves a lot to be desired.

Very happy with the care my mum receives, couldn't wish for anything better

My mum has been a resident for almost 3 years and I visit regularly. The staff are always polite and friendly. The residents appear to be well cared for, well fed & their laundry is done daily. The home is kept exceptionally clean and staff work hard - I hope these are appreciated. There are a variety of activities should residents wish to participate. Overall I am very satisfied with the care given to my mum, and thank everyone for their contribution.
We are delighted to hear that you have been so pleased with the care your mum has received over the past three years. It is wonderful to know that you consistently find our team to be polite, friendly, and...
My father was very anxious about going in for respite, due to it being his first time. We visited the home, were shown around by patient and friendly staff who spoke to my father and asked him if he had any questions, putting him at ease. He went in for respite for 3 weeks. He had a very positive experience telling his family how friendly the staff were and how helpful. He said the room was nice with a view of the garden. He also complimented the food. His stay was better than expected.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your father's respite stay at Parkhouse Grange. We understand that coming into care for the first time can feel overwhelming, so we are delighted to hear that our team helped put your father at ease from the very beginning during your visit...
I have lost a little confidence recently in the ability of some of the staff members at the care home . My mum has recently suffered from dehydration after getting a blood test that was requested by a doctor . If it wasn't for that blood test we would not have known this . My mum had the blood test because she lost 4:5 kilograms over a short space of time . The results showed high sodium levels indicating dehydration . I know my mum has difficulty swallowing due to her condition but I do not feel that staff spend enough time with her to make sure she has enough fluids. During the weekends there are no managers physically based in the home although you can contact them . There are some lovely staff at the home that work hard but there is a lack at the weekends ( or seems to be .) most of the time someone answers the phone but not always . Mum has started to put weight on thankfully . But still suffers pain when she pees into her pad .
Overall a good all round experience for my wife, probably been the best one she has stayed in in recent years. She was well looked after and enjoyed her stay. Many thanks to all the management and staff.
Thank you so much for an amazing review. We appreciate the kind words you have to say about how well your wife is looked after at Parkhouse Grange. Your comments will be passed onto the wider team. Thank you once again!
Both my parents moved in at the end of March. Mum has dementia and dad has lots of health issues, the last lot of health issues led to 24 hour care. I chose Park House Grange based on the friendliness of staff and their outward care projection. So far the care for both parents has been excellent. Dad's health has improved- mainly from a change in diet (as discussed with the GP) and the care from the staff. All of the staff and management are great, friendly and professional plus they keep you posted on a GP referrals and any issues.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and for placing your trust in Parkhouse Grange for both your parents' care. We're delighted to hear that your dad's health has improved and that both your mum and dad are receiving the support they need. It means a great deal to us that you've recognised...
Finding Parkhouse Grange Carehome has been such a relief for our family. It is exceptionally clean, the staff are amazing and they have supported Mum (and Dad, who visits every day) with kindness and understanding. I would reccomend it to anyone.

The first thing you notice when you walk in is the friendly staff and the cleanliness.
We were always greeted with a smiley face and a warm hello. Our relative was always happy and very well cared for, with activities, help with feeding, various parties etc.
Management were always available for a chat if we ever needed to talk to them, both very knowledgeable and supportive.
Thank you to all the staff at Parkhouse for your neverending care.

My husband came from another local care home where it was terrible, l found Parkhouse Grange in search of moving him which was July 2023. My husband did not walk or feed himself and after a short while with Parkhouse, the dedicated staff encouraged him, he can now stand and walk with the frame and feed himself.
Thank you so much for your kind words about Parkhouse Grange. It's incredibly rewarding to hear how the dedication of our team has made such a difference in your husband's quality of life. Helping him regain independence with walking and self-feeding is exactly what we aim for, and it's wonderful...
My review is consistent, no matter when we visit, one to three visits a week. The first things that greet you when you walk through the door are friendly staff and cleanliness. You can see that the residents are clean and well cared for. The food is prepared to a good standard, the building is maintained and the grounds are kept to a decent standard. Our main comments are that our mother/mother-in-law is happy and safe. It is a relief to us just knowing this!
Thank you for sharing your consistent experience with us. It's wonderful to know that you're greeted by friendly staff and a welcoming, clean environment each time you visit. We're dedicated to maintaining high standards of care, from cleanliness and quality meals to the comfort and safety of our...
Very polite staff, always helpful and caring towards the residents, I couldn't ask for a more perfect home for my dad, they help him with a lot and it's an easily accessible home, if you need to speak to any of the staff members about something they are always on hand to help.
Thank you for such a kind review. We're delighted to know that our team has been there for your father with the care and support he deserves. It's great to hear that you find the home accessible and that our staff are always available to assist. Your words mean a lot to us, and we're honoured to be a part of your dad's life. Thank you for your trust!
From the moment he came to Parkhouse Grange during the Covid lockdown, which meant handing him over at the door with his bags of clothes, he was treated with such kindness and care. He settled in so well and never once asked if he could go home. I cannot fault the care he received over nearly three years until his death in July this year. My family and I will always be grateful to the wonderful staff who were so supportive right up to the end.
Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt review. It means so much to us to know that your loved one felt at ease and was cared for with kindness from the very start. Supporting families during those challenging times has always been a priority, and we're honoured to have been part of his life for...
My Mother-in-law appears comfortable and relaxed when I visit her. She is at her most animated when there is music playing, which also engages the majority of residents. The activities and entertainment provide a different focus and my Mother-in-law has especially enjoyed the yoga and exercise sessions and the visiting singer. It is also nice to see activities are relevant and up to date. Overall the staff are kind, patient, and caring under what are often challenging circumstances.
for over a year. The staff are friendly, patient, and kind, helping Mum when she requires assistance and ensuring her needs are met. During her stay, Mum has had a fall requiring emergency medical assistance, which was dealt with efficiently and appropriately. The paramedics commenting that the correct procedure had been followed, which they found was not the case in all care homes. This provides reassurance that Mum is well looked after and cared for with dignity.
I have always found on my visits the staff to be helpful and efficient. The rooms are kept clean and tidy and the food and drinks served while I was present, seemed very good.
It was hard during the first Covid-19 lockdown not being able to see my wife but this was in the best interests of the residents and staff. Thankfully the vaccinations have helped to keep Covid at bay but there is no relaxation of the diligence of the care staff.
I have no hesitation in recommending Parkhouse Grange when choosing a home for your loved ones.
My Mum has been a resident for several years now, I wouldn't dream of her being anywhere else and couldn't recommend the home highly enough to be looking for somewhere to care for their or a loved one's needs. Despite my Mum's deteriorating condition, she has always had her needs taken care of in a loving, caring environment.
