The home is so welcoming to friends and family visiting the residents and there is always something going on where both residents and families can get involved adding a real community feel to the home. I would recommend Portland house wholeheartedly.
Thank you so much for such kinds words. We loved having your father with us. Your words mean so much to us! You are more than welcome to visit whenever you like - we love having you around. Thanks once again!
My wife has been a resident of Portland House for almost two years and throughout the whole of this time the home has provided a most excellent and caring service. I, or a member of my family, visit almost every day, and we are all reassured by the high quality of management and of social and medical care. On entering the premises, you are greeted with smiles and the warmth generated by the staff. This feels exceptional. It is a pleasure and totally reassuring to know that my wife is so well cared for by such a professional, efficient and caring team.
Thank you so much for such an amazing review. We love having your wife stay with us, and we always value your time whenever you come to Portland House. The team will be extremely happy to hear about your lovely comments, thanks so much for taking the time to appreciate the efforts that they display. We appreciate it a lot!
My father moved to Portland House 3 months ago when he required additional support and care. I have found that Portland House has a calm, relaxed and homely atmosphere. The manager and staff have been very welcoming to my father, myself, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. My father since moving into Portland House has very much enjoyed participating in the organised activities, which has included celebrations of key events such as Easter, with the most recent being V.E. Day, where he had the opportunity to share his memories of the World War II with staff and fellow residents. He has also enjoyed singing hymns and songs when the local Church and entertainers visit. The manager and staff are all very approachable, and are all good communicators sharing information and updates about my father. My thanks to all the staff who care for my father.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. We're delighted to hear that your father has settled in well at Portland House and is enjoying the activities and community spirit. It's our pleasure to support him and your family, and we truly appreciate your kind words about our team.
It's my daughter who lives at Portland House. I bless the day she moved there with early oncet dementia as her needs have been met all the time even though there needs have changed drastically as her health has deteriorated. Family and friends have always been made welcome when they visit and the young children have enjoyed visiting their grandma, my daughter, and had lots of attention from residents and staff. Portland House has been a lovely place for my daughter to spend her days.
Thank you so much for such a lovely review! Having your daughter with us at Portland House has been great for us as well as her. Thank you for visiting us and saying great things about us. It is great to see the positive impact that the team has on her.

Have high praise for the care he has received.

They do lots of activities in which the residents can engage, as well as trips out when possible.
The staff are all committed to giving great care and very much focus on individual person's needs and abilities.
My friend has been in the home for around 18 months now and I know isn't the easiest of persons to deal with sometimes, but the staff are great with her and try and find ways to engage her in activities, or leave her alone when she chooses not to engage - as we all want to be left alone sometimes!!
Most folks would choose not to be in a care home, but if the need arose for one of my friend's family to have to go into a home, I would definitely recommend the manager and the team.
Thank you for everything you all do.
What a lovely and detailed review of Portland House! It's clear that the manager and staff have made a tremendous positive impact on both the residents and their families. The home is very clean and welcoming. Staff are hardworking, happy and welcoming! They make you feel like part of the family. Residents are well looked after and the food is always amazing! My dad has been a resident at this home for over five years. We chose it as it's a lovely home where he is not 'just a number'. We noticed some deterioration at the home following COVID, however since new management, I have noticed an improvement in services, recruitment of staff and meals. I would be happy to recommend this home to others looking for their loved ones.

Nana passed away recently and we were happy that Portland were able to care for her without the stresses of her having to be admitted to hospital. She went very peacefully and had enjoyed a very long, healthy life (95 years old).
Thank you everyone - and as Nana would say - Night Night, Duckie.
We are truly sorry to hear about the passing of your...
Our queen had the best care from such wonderful caring people. She loved all of the staff as if they were family. Special thanks from all of us to the team, she thought the world of you all.

Mum isn’t aware of very much but always seems settled and comfortable.
We are so glad you have been so happy with the care your mother received and that you have such lovely feedback for the staff. Your kind words mean a lot to everyone and we wish you and your mother all the best.

Very happy with the care home, but unfortunately, it couldn't meet my mum's needs. The rooms are OK but some with no windows and could do with updating the decor. The staff are nice and really helpful. Overall a lovely place, but not enough mental stimulation for my mum.
Dear P M, thank you for taking the time to submit a review for us. We really appreciate the positive feedback you've made about our staff being kind and helpful. It is unfortunate that we were unable to meet your mum's needs however we are pleased you were happy with our care home overall.
My father is settled and happy, he likes the staff and he enjoys having conversations with them. For me, it is peace of mind knowing he is looked after and safe. I appreciate the staff keeping me informed, especially letting me know of any problems with his health.

I know my mom is well cared for. The staff are caring and support me as well as my mom and the home has a nice atmosphere. The staff do everything to make my mom's meals more appealing for her and respect her wishes.

Portland house is a godsend! It was pointed out to me that on the 26th of June 2022 my dad will have been a resident for 12 months. During this time the care my dad has received has been first class! The staff are very friendly and the communication has been brilliant! I would highly recommend to anybody that finds themselves in the unfortunate position of putting a loved one in to care.

We are glad to hear that you are extremely happy with the care your dad is receiving at Portland House. Thank you again for taking the time to write us your review. Your kind words will be shared with Rachel and the team.
I have been very satisfied with the level of care and attention to needs - particularly during the pandemic. We have been kept up to date with constantly changing policies but have still been welcome visitors. My dad has been very well and stable and Covid- free, which I am very grateful for. I look forward to normal service being resumed as soon as is safe.
All staff I have come into contact with, either by phone or in person, are always polite and friendly and go out of their way to help you. The Manager and staff are understanding, have empathy and will keep you informed regarding your loved ones.
