My mum has been at West View since August and has settled in really well. The home manager and the whole team are warm, friendly and compassionate. They treat the residents like members of the family and provide a safe and comfortable environment. The friendly welcome is also extended to the resident's
family which makes visiting a pleasure.

The staff are excellent and the building is well-maintained. The home has been redecorated and they provide a good service, the staff are very friendly and helpful and they treat the residents in a dignified way. Although the building is well-maintained. Unfortunately, it was not purpose-built for a
care home.

Our dear friend has been a resident of West View Care Home for many years now. We are very happy with the care that she receives and has always met all of her health care needs, be it holistically, physically or mentally. The home has faced many hurdles over recent years with challenging times but always
kept the residents well being at the forefront of all care provided. Our friend's care needs are regularly assessed and needs are always met on an individual basis. Her room is always clean and clutter-free with regular updates and modernisation. I can not thank the team enough for all the hard work, love care and dedication they provide to my friend and all of the other residents.

From the first time meeting the management and staff, I knew Mum was in the best place. My mum beams when the staff interact with her; they treat her with love and respect. They communicate well with me by phone and in person. Even when Mum was near the end of life, she was so well looked after; it
was like we were with her all the time. Lovely staff and excellent management. We are so glad Mum was able to stay here!

What an amazing experience at this difficult time when you have to decide what is best for your loved one. Although surroundings are the first impressions, meeting the team and the love and care that oozes from them outshines anything. We had peace of mind after visiting Mum when we left here at West
View Residential Care Home. We would certainly recommend, and we are sure Mum would of if capable.

My 93-year-old mum has been in West View Residential since 5th August 2021. She suffers from dementia. When she first arrived after being in hospital and then being discharged to a not-so-nice home that after a month I soon whisked her away from, as you can imagine she was quite confused, scared and
very out of sorts. With the love and devoted care of all the staff at West View, she has come on leaps and bounds. The staff are truly amazing. They give their residents so much love, it makes them feel safe and cared about. I visit 2-3 times a week. Each time I arrive she still knows it’s me and every time I leave I go without worrying about leaving her in such good care. I would highly recommend West View to anyone thinking of placing a loved one into residential care.

My nana went to West View in an emergency and West View was very helpful with the process ensuring this was a smooth move and ensuring Nana was as comfortable as possible. Nana has done nothing but praise everyone at West View and express how happy she is there. Everyone is very caring and attentive
to my nana's needs, I would not want her anywhere else.

Found everyone here very attentive, friendly and caring. They were extremely nice to him throughout our visits, and they have gone out of their way to assist him and facilitate his intake of food by offering a variety of food choice - often going out of their way to get anything he wants! Fabulous.
They all go the extra mile.

My friend has vascular dementia and needs protecting as she is very frail and vulnerable. I feel the home provides a place of safety. She is warm and well kept. She can be demanding but the carers are very kind and understanding.
I have peace of mind that she is in a good home with plenty going on

I extremely enjoyed visiting my grandma at West View, all at West View were so welcoming and I couldn't have asked for a more homely atmosphere. My grandma was telling me all about the fun activities she had been involved with over the weekend. The carers are so caring and they really do show it. I
know my grandma is well looked after and I always look forward to travelling and seeing everyone at West View.

Dad was moved to West View after first home closed. The staff immediately (and continue to do so) make Dad happy, healthy and well looked after in a safe and loving environment. Communication with me has been excellent. Dad has a small number of visitors (vicar, friends and family) and they say exactly
the same. When I visit I am always included in meetings with the doctor and carers. It may not look the Ritz but the care and other important things are excellent.

My sister needed care after a nasty fall and was then not able to look after herself.
West View has proved to be a lifeline for us.
She has settled in and we are amazed how content and happy she is.
This is due to the caring attitude of the staff and management team.
We can go and visit any time
of day without making an appointment.
And at all times she is clean, happy and contented.
The home is always busy, does all sorts of activities and I would like to say a big thank you.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.651)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.651) out of 10 for West View Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for West View Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (24 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.651 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for West View Residential Care Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 19 registered maximum number of service users is 3.8. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 3.8 = 0.526
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
