The Chestnuts is a residential care home situated on London Road in Coalville.

The Chestnuts is a residential care home with 14 single bedrooms, specialising in supporting adults with learning disabilities, including individuals who may display behaviours that challenge.

The focus is on delivering person-centred care while promoting independence, dignity and meaningful daily living.

Inside, the home offers two spacious and comfortable lounge areas, along with a communal dining room that encourages social interaction and routine. A large domestic-style kitchen provides opportunities for residents to safely maintain and develop their independence with the support of staff.

The home became part of the Oak Tree Care Group in 2009 and has since continued to provide a supportive and structured environment for those in its care.

To the rear of the home is a spacious, landscaped garden with a slabbed finish, featuring a decked seating area with garden furniture and a raised flower bed — creating a pleasant and accessible outdoor space for relaxation and activities.

Mu uncle has been cared for exceptionally well. All his needs have been met and more some.

The Chestnuts has a homely and welcoming atmosphere. The manager and staff are caring, well-trained and helpful when we visit.
Our brother is always well looked after, clean and as comfortable as possible.
We are kept informed of his well-being and any problems and needs. We can phone anytime for
an update on how he is, which is measuring for all of us. We have full confidence in everyone at The Chestnuts.

Very happy with the care being given to my son. Good communications and friendly staff.
Management is excellent and always have time for a chat and to explain things. A great help during the whole moving in period.

My brother has been at Chestnuts for over 2 years. We have met different managers. The manager that is there at present is doing a brilliant job. The home is run so much better. Residents seem calmer, the staff are polite and friendly and helpful.


We are really happy for our brother to bet there,

he is really happy and settled so we have peace of mind where he is.

I visited my friend and was made very welcome by the staff and other residents. The home appeared very friendly and clean. My friend is on respite at the home and can't wait to have another visit. Activities are very good.

Lisa Borley

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2017

Hi, I’m Lisa and I have been the Home Manager at The Chestnuts since June 2021. I have over 25 years’ experience in the care sector, supporting people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and nursing requirements across a variety of settings.


I began my career in care in 2006 as a Care Assistant and worked my way through a number of roles, becoming a Registered Manager in 2009. Much of my earlier career was spent within the elderly care sector, managing both residential and nursing homes, where I developed a strong foundation in delivering high-quality care.


I joined The Chestnuts in 2017 as Deputy Manager and was later promoted to Home Manager in 2021. Since joining, I have developed a real passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities and enhancing the lives of the people who live here.


I am committed to ensuring our residents are supported to develop independence, build confidence and enjoy fulfilling daily lives through meaningful activities and community engagement. I am equally passionate about supporting the team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.


I am proud to lead a dedicated team that shares the same commitment to creating a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for everyone who lives at The Chestnuts.
