I cannot fault anything about tynefield court my mum has settled in very well and is very well looked after she asks for a cup of tea and she has it within minutes. There are always plenty of carers about to look after the residents. The carers all know their jobs and what they are doing. It is very
clean and tidy mums room is spotless. The manager and her team are on top of everything and certainly know what they are doing. Mum has 3 meals a day and the food is excellent all done fresh on site. I would highly recomend Tynefield to anyone who is looking for a care home for their loved ones.Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart for everything you do for my mum.

The Valleys always go above and beyond to ensure that the residents are well cared for. The food is excellent. My nana is a vegetarian, however they always make sure she gets a varied menu. Even the chef has been up to see her to discuss new ideas for her. The staff are very friendly and are always
happy to help and give amazing care. Finally the activities are great too with live music happiny regurly.

My 89 year old Mum has dementia and she has just been there 12 months. She had spent the best part of 16 weeks prior to moving there in hospital. She was ill in many ways and very unhappy.
One year on she is thriving. She is happy, in great health, and benefitting from a year of the best care I could
hope for.
The professionalism and work from the staff has made her life enjoyable again. This has enabled me to re engage my relationship with as her son and not as her carer.
Most recently as changes have occurred within the structure of the home, things have got even better. The care side is excellent and liaison when she is not well or happy is prompt and effective. The social side has got progressively better to a point where I think she is having a better time now than she has done in the previous 3 years.
Trust this place! I have watched it for one year now and I am totally convinced that the place has saved my Mum's life. Thank you xx
Reply from Carly Cresswell, Home Manager at Red Oaks Care CommunityThank you from the bottom of my heart for this Amazing review, your kind words mean more to us than we can express and it is incredibly rewarding to know that our care and compassion have made such a difference to her life. My mother-in-law was moved to Red Oaks on end-of-life care in the middle of May straight from hospital. Upon her entry to the home, I noticed a pleasant smell, clean paintwork, carpets and rooms. I visited the following day at lunchtime to see her, her meal both looked and smelled delicious. My mother-in-law
also appeared to be happy despite her level of dementia. The staff were caring and attentive of all the other residents. The manager 'Carly was polite, professional and knowledgeable of my mother-in-law's needs. Nursing staff also professional.

Layden Court Care Home

from Alex T (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 June 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Layden court took over the care of my Dad in April.
I can't fault it at all.
The care and compassion they've shown has been genuine. They quickly learn who you are and which resident " belongs" to you.
We've been encouraged to make Dad's room his own. Hang pictures, move furniture, bring in personal
items such as lamps etc. He has his own bedding and the staff have offered to launder it. Both the care and nursing staff are easy going friendly and cheery. But most importantly they do their job well . I can ask a question and I get an immediate answer. If I ask for something for Dad I know it's going to be done.
The excellent care and nursing he's getting is already making a difference after a few short weeks.
He is happy , healthier and his speech and cognitive functions are improving.
The care home itself is always clean and pleasant. Theres a comfortable feel to it and feels more like a family home than a nursing home. I have no hesitation in recommending layden court .
Reply from Chantey Hickling, Registered Manager at Layden Court Care HomeDear Alex,

Thank you for your lovely review and kind words about Layden Court.

We are so pleased to hear that your father has settled in well and that you have seen such positive improvements in his health and wellbeing. Our team works hard to provide compassionate, person-centred care, and it is wonderful to know this has made a difference to both your father and your family.

Thank you for your recommendation and for trusting us with your father's care.

Kind regards,

Chantey

My father in law has recently moved into this home and it is absolutely wonderful. Inside, the building is spacious with lots of quiet lounges and visible TVs. It is super clean, no awful smells from continence issues and just a warm and homely environment. The staff are very kind and attentive and
also make me feel welcome to visit. Lovely big bedroom with bay window, looking out onto the garden; TV aerial and internet for his TV and staff have already mounted his pictures on the walls of his bedroom. There is good engagement with staff and visitors/family and lots of feedback on how he is and there appears to be a good ratio of staff to residents. Deserves a much higher review rating as quite frankly, we think it is great and more importantly, meeting our family members needs (which are high) Keep up the good work x

The Valleys Care Home is beautiful, run to a high standard, spotless, tidy and always something exciting going on. Carers and staff are awsome, never had a complaint in the three years, nothing is to much trouble. Wonderful home!

Initially booked Dad in for respite as I was going away for a couple of weeks. But as he was getting too hard to handle at home with his vascular dementia, I booked him in a few weeks earlier. I visit most days, and to the credit of the staff there, he has never asked to come home. He looks well looked
after, and his needs are met. Everyone there is pleasant and helpful, and nothing is too much. I would highly recommend the Troc to anyone that requires such services.
