Reason Care is the parent of two independently run care homes based in Newark-on-Trent and Nottinghamshire.

Person-centred care is offered by a caring and experienced staff team, who support older people and those with dementia to live as independently as possible within a residential care setting.

Both homes are supplied with excellent equipment and facilities, and there are plenty of activities to keep residents occupied as well as give them opportunities for socializing.

The whole team should be applauded. Thank you for the compassionate way in which my dad was treated during the almost 2 years he was at the home. There is a lovely homely atmosphere at St Michaels. This has evolved with a caring, empathetic manager who started a few months ago. Her small dog is also on site and brings a lot of pleasure to residents and visitors, a definite asset to the environment. Along with the friendly, caring and competent
staff. The manager has created a safe, comfortable and friendly care environment. Any issues relating to dads care are swiftly and appropriately dealt with, with dad's best interests at the forefront.

My mother has been here for nearly four months. The staff and management are excellent. The food seems to be pretty good, too. I have no worries. I have confidence in the staff. They keep my mother safe at all times. I do wonder if it might be possible to organise more activities or entertainment but
I note in this regard that communal music and singing now take place (once a week, I think)

I'd very much like to praise the excellent care and support my mum has had at Bunkers Hill since she arrived in May. Obviously mum was not happy to start with but the caring and friendly atmosphere quickly won her round and she recently told me she was happy there. I have visited every two weeks and
every time I have been impressed with the support that mum has had from all the carers. They are always available to help out and no request is too much. The food is always very appetising and mum has often finished breakfast when I arrive and wants toast and marmalade to follow which is always available. The staff were very obliging to put up several of my paintings on the walls in mum's room which has helped to personalise the space. I have nothing but praise for the home and send my thanks for the support you have provided.

When I visit, the staff are always accommodating and provide me with refreshments. From the time my husband went into Layden Court, he was made to feel like he was home and not in care home. They soon learnt his likes and dislikes. Treated him like an adult, not a child, and he could make up his own mind.
He laughed, smiled and became family with those their through their genourosity
and help with the daily things my husband could no longer do independently, such as they made sure he was washed, shaved, properly groomed and has his hair cut. His food looked delicious, in fact this made us want to eat there. Puddings were always his favourite. Access was always welcome.
They also helped me with any concerns, like when I felt like he needed to see a doctor. In his final days we were informed of any medical care that was prescribed. When he passed, the phones were not working so one of the many kind nurses who cared for my husband used her own phone to ensure that I was informed as soon as possible. Can't thank them enough.

My mum has been a resident in Layden court for around two months , she has come on leaps and bounds, the staff are absolutely brilliant with her and nothing is to much trouble.
She is eating well and is really enjoying the delicious home cooked meals everyday .
Mum has lots of visitors and we are
all made to feel very welcome .
I can highly recommend Layden Court

My mother has recently passed away after nearly three years in Strawberry Fields Carehome in Newark. We would like to pass on our sincere thanks to all the staff there for the care she received. It was a great comfort to us to know how well she was looked after for the whole time. We were also extremely
touched with the care and compassion shown by everyone at the home in her last few days. It provided a dignity which was a great comfort to our family. With our most sincere thanks.
Reply from Sarah Johnson, Manager at Strawberry FieldsMany thanks for your kind words, we pride ourselves as a team in the care provided at Strawberry Fields. It has been an honor and privilege to care for your Mum and you as a family.

My husband went into Layden Court for a two week respite, initial thoughts on the home was that it was clean and the residents were well looked after, whilst in the home my husband had to see the doctor he was lovely and very considerate and the home was very efficient.
Reply from lara beardshaw, manager at Layden Court Care Homemany thanks for your kind review, I will ensure this is shared with the care team and GP. It was a pleasure to care for your husband during his stay with us
