The Carers of Bunkers Hill Care Home are, without doubt, the very best and no praise is too high for them. They look after my wife, and the other residents, with consummate care and compassion They go about their tasks with infinite patience and cheerful good humour. They never belittle, bully or
embarrass the residents who are always treated with the utmost respect. It is why, my wife, who despite all her problems, has made it abundantly clear that she is happy At Bunkers Hill and does not want to move.

I'd very much like to praise the excellent care and support my mum has had at Bunkers Hill since she arrived in May. Obviously mum was not happy to start with but the caring and friendly atmosphere quickly won her round and she recently told me she was happy there. I have visited every two weeks and
every time I have been impressed with the support that mum has had from all the carers. They are always available to help out and no request is too much. The food is always very appetising and mum has often finished breakfast when I arrive and wants toast and marmalade to follow which is always available. The staff were very obliging to put up several of my paintings on the walls in mum's room which has helped to personalise the space. I have nothing but praise for the home and send my thanks for the support you have provided.

I cannot fault the care given to my mother, both management and staff have been helpful and attentive to my mum. I feel totally happy with the care and support. It is a shame that the home is a bit tired, but I guess the up keep is expensive consider their hole place is very clean and tidy and maintained
to a very good standard.

We had struggled and failed to get any support for my mum and came to Bunker's Hill in crisis. All the staff were so caring and supportive of the whole family through an extremely difficult time. My mum is so well cared for and is treated with utmost respect and patience. We, the family, have been supported
in ensuring my mum has the best life possible and helping us come to terms with and cope with her dementia. All the staff do their utmost not just to provide care but to bring joy to all the residents' lives every single day.

On the whole care is very good for moderate dementia patients. Please bear in mind that this is not a suitable setting for advanced or complex dementia patients. Staff are not able to deal with such issues.

I cannot praise high enough the kindness and compassion of the staff - The nurses, the carers and domestic staff - far beyond what is required of their positions. They go above and beyond and they must sleep well at night knowing they have expressed such kindness. I have heard the staff dealing with
such kindness to extremely difficult patients. I simply can't express in gratitude high enough for the care given to my father and my family. 5 star.

My husband spent his final days here and the care was excellent. He was kept, very comfortable in an immaculately clean, warm room and treated with great respect by the staff. All of his needs were dealt with carefully and promptly. My family and I were always welcomed in a very positive way and staff
gave us time to answer any questions we had. We couldn't have asked for a better place for his final days.

First, I must apologise for not submitting a review earlier, I have been meaning to but just not got round to doing it. I know how important reviews can be when someone is looking for a home for their loved one. My Mum was at White Gables from November 2023 until March 2024. All of the staff were friendly
and caring, always with a smile. My father used to visit every day in the afternoon and they always made him a cup of tea when on their busy rounds and took the time to talk to him too and ensure that he was coping. My Mum received the best care, she was always clean and dressed and took part in activities, such as making Christmas decorations, which she enjoyed. Sadly, Mum passed away in March 2024. She was treated with such care and dignity in her final days and we could not have asked for more from the staff. It is a lovely care home in pleasant surroundings.

The entire staff team at White Gables exude kindness and care. When I visited my husband once/twice every day, I always experienced smiley faces, patience and politeness.
The nursing staff were both proactive and responsive. My husband was at the home for his final weeks, following stays in hospital.
His palliative care was given in a dignified and thoughtful way. All the staff are to be praised for the manner in which they carry out their often challenging tasks.

I often visit my wife at mealtimes, because I still like to feel like I'm still caring for her. My wife is on a liquid diet. The staff check we are both ok. They often offer me a drink even though it's a really busy time. White Gables doesn't smell, it has pleasant gardens. The staff are friendly. Thank
you, for looking after my wife.

First 6 months, amazing. Since the new owners have taken over most of the staff have left. The food portions have gotten smaller, and medical care (dietary and medication) has been ignored or late. A lot of agency staff are here now and the care is not consistent. I had no tablets for 3 days because
of a mix-up. No butter or cheese for tea so I had 2 dry crackers, unacceptable! My room is dirty too.
Reply from Charleen Trueblood, Home Manager at White Gables Care HomeWe are so sorry you feel this way regarding the care you receive here at the home. We strive to support all our residents in a caring and safe manner. We do have several options of meals per day, and we promote a varied diet of a nutritional value. We have a nurse on duty 24 hours a day and linked to one GP surgery for the whole home which always promotes consistency and support with weekly ward rounds. The home has an excellent care team, and we use minimal agency workers. The home is cleaned to a high standard, but some residents choose not to have this service every day.

I can't fault White Gables which became home for the last six weeks of Mum's life. Myself and my husband were made welcome. Everything was explained to us, even the way the meals were prepared. They were very understanding with her and dealt with her needs, especially after she had a fall in the night.
We would like to thank the manager and the agency nurse for the exceptional care that they gave Mum in the time she was there and all the other members of staff. The final two days were very hard, but our wishes were taken into consideration regarding the final hours of Mum's life. We were told that she wouldn't be alone in her final hours and she was also made very comfortable and pain free. Once again, thank you for all your care.
