The staff at this home are friendly and welcoming. No smell of urine or cabbage! Lara and team liaise with us. Our relative has blossomed in their care. She is antisocial, and they respect her wishes not to participate in activities/dining area. The rooms are bright and cheerful, food is lovely. I asked
for the room to be changed around, and it was done the next morning. My mum is happy here now after a settling and adjustment period.
Reply from Tyler McCullagh, Regional Manager at Elm Lodge Care HomeThank you for your kind words regarding the care your relative receives at Elm Lodge, I am thrilled that she has settled and is happy in the with the team and the care provided.

Staff are absolutely amazing. If only I could give 10 stars and not 5!
My nans last few days were spent at Tynfield care home, Etwall and I could not thank their staff enough. A special mention to Kelly who made my nan feel so comfortable and cared so much for her including the rest of the staff looking
after her. Also a special mention to Aimee who I believe is the manager. The kindness and support you have shown us will not be forgotten!
We as a family, are so thankful for everyone who looked after my nan. We are devastated my nan isn't here any longer but find comfort knowing my nan was cared and made comfortable in her last few days from the amazing staff.
Everything was done in a professional manner and my nan was treated with such dignity.
Thank you again everyone at Tynfield care home. We appreciate everything you have done for our special nan.
Kind regards
Olly

There is a lovely homely atmosphere at St Michaels. This has evolved with a caring, empathetic manager who started a few months ago. Her small dog is also on site and brings a lot of pleasure to residents and visitors, a definite asset to the environment. Along with the friendly, caring and competent
staff. The manager has created a safe, comfortable and friendly care environment. Any issues relating to dads care are swiftly and appropriately dealt with, with dad's best interests at the forefront.

From first contacting the care home, the manager who had recently been in post was excellent. She reassured us and was very supportive, as she knew we were worried, as we were going away for Easter. I would give the manager 10/10 for the support she gave. My mother-in-law was very well cared for and
enjoyed participating in the activities. We were telephoned on our first day away and reassured that my mother-in-law was okay. This meant so much to us as we were going to contact that same evening. The manager was knowledgeable regarding Dementia/Alzheimer's, again, this helped. Thank you to all who cared for my mother-in-law and allowed us to get away.

The staff and management are committed to giving the best care they can. Mum has been looked after exceptionally well since day one. The staff are caring, friendly and treat everyone with dignity and kindness. There are always improvements being made and the recent move of the dining room to the two
top lounges and redecoration to form a welcoming place for residents and visitors to use is brilliant. Well done everyone and thank you for all you do.
Reply from Maxine Spray, Manager at RavensworthThank you for the positive feedback it is nice be recognised for the work the staff do and I will pass your comments on to the team. It is also nice for some one comment on the changes to the home.

The manager has gone above and beyond reassuring our family about my Nan's care since she arrived. She even emailed out of hours to put us at ease. The staff answer any questions we have and we are welcomed as visitors.

The two managers are good managers, they make me feel most welcome. My poor mum can no longer do things for herself bless her. Mum has been like this some time. Most staff work hard one member of staff in particular always makes me a lovely coffee. The home is having new windows and doors so out with
the wood in with the plastic. They have started work on this and they now have a lovely front door. Please close the door behind you please. They also now have a wonderful garden. Lovely handy man kindly worked on this for free, thanks so much. Bedrooms have just been done up.
The cost of the home for loved one is quite expensive, mind you they all are. With my mum's it's all coming from the house when the valuation go's down too half the rest should go to the family etc, the law needs changing. So please think before you put your loved one in care, myself had no choice.
I recommend St Michael's Nursing and Residential Home. Hope this is of some help, I love it, please give me a thumbs up, kind regards.

Very good care from all the staff. Kind and respectful towards the residents. Clean and tidy in most areas. Good wholesome food. Washing is done by family but some items have gone to the laundry. Helpful senior staff when asked about mum.

Mum has been at Elm lodge for around two months now, and is very happy. The home seems very well run. The facilities are good, and it always looks clean. Most importantly, the staff are brilliant, and they always seem attentive, friendly and helpful. It is really reassuring, to know that mum is being
well cared for. Very satisfied.

My husband has lived at St Michael's since April 2024, it took a while for him to settle down but the care he gets from the staff is really lovely, he has a good appetite and if he says he is hungry food will appear they have nice activities going on for anyone wishing to take part. It was a big decision
for him to go into care but it was the correct one for all the family, as much as he is missed at home we know he is being well cared for and for that, my thanks go to all the staff who work there.

Mum has been a resident at Ravensworth for the last 11 months. She seems content and happy. The staff have been great and keep me informed of any issues.
After visiting other care homes I feel that Ravensworth stands out well above the others.
Happy to recommend Ravensworth. Well done!

My husband was admitted to Ravensworth Care Home towards the end of a stressful day. Henceforth he and I have been treated with the utmost kindness and respect. The premises are clean and the staff are always ready to help with any query.
I hope my husband will in time be able to come home, but I
will always be grateful for the care he has received at Ravensworth. The manageress is priceless!

My wife has now been at Elm Lodge for six months. The care she has received is beyond expectations. When admitted she was often violent and uncooperative but with the dedication and patience of the manager, supported by her equally dedicated staff and doctor, she has become calmer and cooperative with
requests. She is still confused but my family and I can relax knowing that she is safe and being cared for properly.
Reply from Lara Beardshaw, Manager at Elm Lodge Care HomeThank you so much for your very kind review, our doors are always open to you should you need us and we will continue to build on the support we offer not just to our residents but their families also I will ensure your kind words are shared with all the team.

Our mother was discharged from the hospital and moved into Elm Lodge care facility in March 2022. The manager of Elm Lodge at that time was excellent; they worked with us to help our mother settle in with a non-judgmental and approachable attitude. Overall, we have been very happy with the care our
mother has received from the day-to-day staff at Elm Lodge. We understand that working in such an environment, especially in dementia care, is not easy, but we feel that our mother has been well taken care of, and we are grateful to the care staff for that. Thank you.
Reply from Lara Beardshaw, Manager at Elm Lodge Care HomeThank you very much for taking the time to leave a review, this will be shared with all staff and it was a pleasure to care for your mum.

Mum has had a lovely stay in respite. Staff and management are friendly and approachable, just like a big family unit. She enjoyed the activities groups and having a good natter with the service users. Going back one day a week, daycare, to keep in touch with friends she has made.
