The staff and management are committed to giving the best care they can. Mum has been looked after exceptionally well since day one. The staff are caring, friendly and treat everyone with dignity and kindness. There are always improvements being made and the recent move of the dining room to the two
top lounges and redecoration to form a welcoming place for residents and visitors to use is brilliant. Well done everyone and thank you for all you do.

Mum has been a resident at Ravensworth for the last 11 months. She seems content and happy. The staff have been great and keep me informed of any issues.
After visiting other care homes I feel that Ravensworth stands out well above the others.
Happy to recommend Ravensworth. Well done!

My husband was admitted to Ravensworth Care Home towards the end of a stressful day. Henceforth he and I have been treated with the utmost kindness and respect. The premises are clean and the staff are always ready to help with any query.
I hope my husband will in time be able to come home, but I
will always be grateful for the care he has received at Ravensworth. The manageress is priceless!

My mother has been in here for 19 months and we've had no problems. She is well looked after and the staff are very friendly. The food looks lovely and plentiful. I wouldn't want her moved anywhere else.

Wonderful people. Staff 5 star. Nothing too much trouble.
They make a big fuss about my wife, she enjoys her days here. 3 days a week, pamper days. Home from home. Great!

Good care is taken of my mum. If I raise an issue, like a medication my mum was on caused her bowel problems, it was sorted out with the doctor and I was informed of the results.

Mum has been a resident here for three years and always found management and staff very informative and supportive of us the family and mum's care needs. Mum is always clean, tidy and well groomed when we visit and always welcomed politely by staff on arrival. On the whole, as a son with a mother in
a care home, I could not be happier. Thank you, Ravensworth.

My mother has been a resident for the last sixteen years. The staff has always been very good at communication as to health and care. My mother feels very safe and well looked after.

Over the covid shutdown, we had contact by phone using social media and are now able to visit in person.

As you

can see by the time my mother has resided here at the home we rate it as excellent.

My aunt recently passed away after spending a year at Ravensworth. We were delighted this care home had been nominated by Social Services.
Obviously, our ability to actually visit was very limited, but we enjoyed a number of window visits and, latterly, a few face to face (or mask to mask) meetings.
However, the staff were unfailingly cheerful on the hundreds of times we telephoned. Whoever answered knew about her current condition without having to ask colleagues. We could see from the Facebook photographs that she looked well and content.
We take great comfort from the comments of the local GP who attended a few times as she deteriorated. He told me that he felt it was a good home and like a family. In particular, the doctor asked the date of birth of a lady while giving vaccinations and the member of staff answered, without having to refer to the file.
A heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Ravensworth

In the four and a half years my Brother-in-law has been a resident in this care home, the very high standard has been maintained throughout. All the staff are very pleasant and greet visitors with a smile. The manager and senior staff are always available to deal with residents queries relatives are
kept up to date if it has been necessary for a G.P/hospital visit.

The care given to my late mother-in-law throughout her time here was exemplary. Staff are kind, compassionate and understanding. I cannot recommend this care home highly enough. As a family, we feel so fortunate that my parents-in-law both secure places here. My father-in-law is still a resident and
is equally well cared for and respected. He has a genuine quality of life.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.036)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.036) out of 10 for Ravensworth is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.486 for Ravensworth is calculated as follows: ( (42 Excellents x 5) + (23 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.486
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.55 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ravensworth is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 = 3.55
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2003

Hi, I’m Maxine, and I am the Registered Manager at Ravensworth. I began my career in care here at Ravensworth in 2003, starting as a Care Assistant.

Over the years, I progressed through a number of roles within the home, gaining valuable experience and developing a strong passion for delivering high-quality care. In 2006, I was appointed as the Registered Manager and have proudly led the home ever since.

During that time, I have seen many positive changes within both the home and the wider care sector, including Ravensworth becoming part of the Oak Tree Care Group family in 2013. Throughout these changes, my focus has always remained the same – ensuring residents receive compassionate, respectful and person-centred care in a safe and supportive environment.

Ravensworth is incredibly special to me and has been a part of my life for a long time, and I feel very much that it is my second home. I believe strongly in creating a warm, family-oriented atmosphere where residents feel comfortable, valued and well cared for. The residents here mean a great deal to me, and I very much see them as my extended family.

I am proud to work alongside a dedicated team that shares the same commitment to providing high-quality care and creating a welcoming environment for residents and their loved ones.

I always encourage families to visit the home, meet the team and experience the friendly and supportive atmosphere at Ravensworth for themselves.
