I visit Gwen every week. Have lunch with her, then we play scrabble, lunch excellent. My husband Graham came in for respite care about 17 years ago. Excellent then.
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to complete a review card.
I am able to sleep well at night knowing that my mum is well cared for by the amazing staff at The Grove. When looking for a home for my mum I knew needed caring and happy people looking after her. The Grove was and is by far the nicest home from home that I could find (and I looked at lots). My mum deserved the best and I believe that is what I have found for her.
On behalf of team Grove thank you for your kind words,
I call weekly to style my friends, one of the residents hair, and I always find the staff very pleasant, professional and helpful.
The home is always very clean and tidy.
I would highly recommend The Grove to anyone needing their services.
Thank you so much for your kind words, and taking time to complete a review
Although she did not want to move to The Grove at first, she soon came to like being there. Her room was spotless and spacious. Thank you for taking such good care of her.
Thank you so much for your kind words, your kind words will be passed onto the team
My father came to live here after his wife passed away. From the very first meeting my dad was treated with respect and courtesy. My dad loved his room which was cosy and personal. He loved talking to all the staff and felt safe and cared for. Although he was only there for 4 months before he passed away he felt happy and content. Each and every member of staff are kind, courtious and respectfull. Thank you so very much.
Thank you so much for your kind words, this will be passed onto the team,
The Grove in Skellingthorpe sets the standard for care. Dad has been resident here for the past 6 and a half years. The staff at The Grove go over and beyond what is required to ensure he is happy and well cared for. The Grove is exceedingly well managed. Each resident is treated as an individual with dignity and respect. This home is truly outstanding!
My wife went to The Grove for two weeks respite, when we arrived we were greeted and she was made very welcome. There needs to be more information on visiting times as I went one evening and was told quite rudely by one of the senior members that I was ten minutes early, which did not make me feel too good. The main nursing staff did everything to make my wife and myself very welcome.
I want to thank you for all the care and attention you have given my wife over the last two weeks. I have been overwhelmed with the kindness, support and care from everyone on the team at The Grove. It was a huge decision for us to make to go down the route of respite care but you have made the experience a very good one for both of us. From day one nothing has seemed too much trouble and it has been a very positive experience. During the past two weeks she has settled really well and has improved both physically and mentally. She is much steadier on her feet, eating really well and has appeared much less confused than when she went in. It has also given me the break I needed.
My wife has been in this care home since March 2023. I have been very satisfied for the care and attention given to her. She appears very contented and always has a smile on her face. I visit her five times a week and have never had to complain and I leave satisfied that she is in good hands.
Thank you so much for your review, we really appreciate the feedback and we will be passing on your comments to the team.
My mum and all the residents are looked after to the highest standards. So pleased I got her a placement here in 2020. The staff are very caring and keep the residents as happy as possible. They do have activities and summer and winter fairs. I was reticent about whether my mum would hate not being independent anymore but she is now as settled as possible. Her sister would like a placement at The Grove should she need it.
My mum is very comfortable, very well cared for and very clean. Mum is treated with respect and dignity all the time. Mum's individual needs are always met. I can not praise this care centre enough. The staff are so caring and nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend The Grove Care Centre to any family that may required this service. I would like to thank all the staff for their dedication and hard work and smiling faces.
My mother will not participate in activities but I have seen residents sitting painting, crayoning and doing crafts and jigsaws with a carer. Entertainment eg: singers/musicians come periodically and special teas are served on Birthdays, Valentine's day, Halloween etc. After a disastrous 5 days in hospital, when my mother was frightened, confused and hurt when they insisted trying to take blood and they could not find a vein - both of her arms were black and blue - she was welcomed back to The Grove and, I think, very relieved. After consultations with the GP, Mum is now on a palliative care package. She is 100 years old. She is very frail and all the staff - the manager, carers, housekeeping, cooks and the handyman have been wonderful with their dedication, compassion, kindness and support not just to Mum but to us as a family. Mum's every need and whim is accommodated. They are a great team working so well together and deserve a rating of 11 out of 10.
Since my mum-in-law was placed here, I have had no issues or concerns with the care and love my mum has received. She has a warm, cosy room, is well loved and looked after, treated with respect and dignity and has settled in really well. We put a lot of this down to the care staff, the homely atmosphere and the warmth that Mum has been given and still is receiving to this day. Five stars to the staff and home. Mum is healthy, happy and safe; that's all we wanted for her.
Thank you so much for your kind words and positive feedback. I know the home manager and the whole team will be delighted with your review.
My nana was in the hospital and came to The Grove as an end-of-life. The level of care my nana has received has been impeccable from admin, management, care staff, domestics, kitchen even maintenance. Due to this care and the home, I've had my nana for a bit longer, and I'm so grateful.
I will pass your wonderful feedback on to the whole staff team, which I know they will appreciate.
My Grandmother had respite care at The Grove Care Centre for only a short time in the end, but throughout it all the care she was provided, and the attitude and dedication of the staff was excellent. She was kept clean and comfortable, and visitors were always welcome and made to feel at home. In addition, the interactions between the home, her GP, the visiting nurse and the Macmillan team were smooth and hassle-free. I would highly recommend the home and the team here.
A very big thank you for your kind words; these are much appreciated and will be passed on to all the team at The Grove Care Centre.
The home was perfect for our mum, and the care and professionalism of the staff is "second to none".
A very big thank you for your kind words; these are much appreciated and will be passed on to all the team at The Grove Care Centre.
We are very happy with the way our parents have been cared for over the last two very testing years. Both were very happy and content, feeling 'spoiled and lazy' is their wonderful comment. Dad passed away during which time we were kept updated and reassured. Thank you.
A very big thank you for your kind words; these are much appreciated and will be passed on to all the team at The Grove Care Centre.
Despite the problems caused by Covid-19, and my father only being a resident during this time, staff have kept me informed and I have had no problems booking appointments. Dad has been well cared for.
A very big thank you for your kind words; these are much appreciated and will be passed on to all the team at The Grove Care Centre.
We are so pleased that we chose The Grove for Mum, the staff are absolutely superb, very caring and interact with the residents all of the time. The home is always clean and the residents are cared for very well. Mum is extremely settled and happy, always smiling and the staff give her love, care and attention. Thank you so much to all.
Many thanks for your lovely review. We always strive to provide homely dignified care to all. Team Grove will be pleased to hear that your mum is happy and settled and that you are happy with her new home.
I found the care that my wife received while in The Grove was wonderful, all of the staff were very friendly and treated my wife wonderfully and caringly whilst she was there. She was cared for marvellously when she was a t end of life. I cannot praise them all enough.
Thank you for your kind review and I know the Manager and the team at The Grove will be pleased to know they assisted you and your wife and in your hour of need.

I love my job and I try to do my best for each and every one of our residents, being their eyes and ears. I have been employed at the Grove since 2002, starting as a care assistant, and part-time cook and working my way up to become the home's registered home manager, and I have been doing this role since June 2006.
