I am able to sleep well at night knowing that my mum is well cared for by the amazing staff at The Grove. When looking for a home for my mum I knew needed caring and happy people looking after her. The Grove was and is by far the nicest home from home that I could find (and I looked at lots). My mum
deserved the best and I believe that is what I have found for her.

Dad is well looked after at Pine Trees. The staff are kind and thoughtful and do everything they can to create a homely, comfortable environment. The home supports Dad to manage his Alzheimer's and Parkinsons. His room is comfortable, and the food is good quality and there is plenty. We had very much
hoped to look after Dad at home, but when we could not meet his needs we had to look for a care home. Pine Trees is very much the best we could have hoped for.

Canwick Court Care Centre

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My father moving into a care home at the age of 87 with dementia was without doubt a very emotional time for the family.

This awful transition was made easier for us by the management and staff of Canwick.

From day one we were reassured by management that Dad would be looked after and he truly

is.

The care shown from all the staff has made Dad settle in very well. Good days and bad days the staff are on hand to help with whatever Dads needs are.

I cannot recommend Canwick Care home enough for anyone in the situation we were in making that decision for what is our head of the family Dad.

But dementia and being at home was unsafe and being in the care home, he's safe, cared for with a group of ultimate professionals.

Bowburn Care Centre

from A D (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 April 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I felt like I'd let Mum down when supporting her living at home became unsafe and she needed residential care. That feeling soon faded as we settled into Bowburn Care Centre.
Mum was registered blind and had vertually no short term memory. That didn't stop the staff getting her involved in baking,
flower aranging, bingo and her favourite, 'movement to music'. She never remembered what she'd done that afternoon, but social media often showed her having fun or showing off her new hair do!
I can't thank the staff and management enough for their care and support.
Reply from Pauline Melville, Home Manager at Bowburn Care CentreI would like to thank you for the lovely feedback. The staff always try their very best to involve everybody, and your mam was always happy to take part in most of the activities.
All residents become part of the St Philips Bowburn family from the moment they come through the door. The staff work hard to support residents in settling in and feeling like part of the family.

I have nothing but praise for the way the staff at The Grove looked after my sister until her passing. Everyone I came into contact with who looked after her treated her with care and kindness.

Almost every night there's a power cut at almost £2000 a week between the council and what I pay why can it not fixed I'm only here because the council recommended it. There's a lock on fuse box so night time staff can't flick back on. I do not recommend Find a better care home.
Reply from Stephanie Brookes-Kent, HR Manager at Leys Park Care HomeFollowing your recent return to us from another setting I was surprised by the content of the review.
I am pleased to say that we were able to discuss this in person and come to a resolution. Whilst the review is not a reflection of the care you receive, we cannot have dissatisfied resident.

Both parents have recently moved into Burnwood Hall. Prior to their move, we were invited to visit the home, see their rooms and personalise with items to help them settle in. Staff were very welcoming and were keen to know about our parents, such as their likes, dislikes, and daily routine. They went
out of their way to help create a seating area in the bigger room so they can spend time together during the day and have time with family. The activity programme is good. All staff helpful, caring and supportive to both parents and family.

There has been a few teething problems with regards to getting to know my mum and some mix up with laundry a few items going missing but my understanding os this is common in every care home. Everything I have gone to staff or management about has been dealt with straight away in a very professional
manner and overall I am very happy with the way my mum is being looked after and cared for, she is never in her room when I visit and is always involved in all activities.

My Aunt came to the home for respite and the care she received was very good. All the carers were friendly and interacted with her. She enjoyed playing bingo and the food was very good. The rooms were clean.

Belmont House

My mum is now over 2 years living in Belmont and not many care homes actually feel like home but Belmont does. It feels of a large extended family home which is why everyone feels so comfortable in the lounge which is at its heart. To make it more open the partitions in the lounge could be taken away
to make it more open for other residents to be more involved and enjoy the activities more. The staff are dedicated, professional, super friendly and so supportive to everyone and also to the families The activities and entertainment are fantastic and every opportunity is made to celebrate anniversaries, birthdays as well as key dates in the year. They know how to throw a party! All the food is made in house which makes all the difference. I leave in the knowledge that my mum has the care that she requires 24/7. Truly grateful.
