I am satisfied with my husbands care in Leys Park. Management and staff have his best interests at heart and do their best to keep him safe well and contented. He eats well which is a blessing and doesn't often leave any food. However one small point as food is served on cold plates it quickly cools
and if they could be warmed before serving would be a benefit when better weather comes getting out in fresh air would also help.

I am very happy with the home as it is within walking distance for my elderly mother to visit my father. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. My dad has settled in from his arrival in Oct'25. He does sometimes say his dinner can be a bit cold so perhaps the plates could be warmed or food on plate
heated in microwave. Overall I'm quite happy.

Overall review is satisfactory, there are areas for improvement. Some rooms would benefit from having hard flooring i.e - wood, lino instead of carpet, as service user has incontinence, this causes the carpet to smell. Therefore unpleasant to visit in the room. There are activities provided but when
not the resident tend to just sleep, as not much for them to do, cinema room would be good.

Burntwood Hall Care Centre

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My dad was a resident at Burntwood Hall for the last year of his life. Even though we knew dad moving into a care home was the right option, it was still a very anxious time for us all. The staff were very welcoming, caring and professional. We couldn't believe how quickly dad settled in. As a family
knowing he was happy, safe and well cared for was a massive relief for us. Dad loved talking to the carers and having a laugh with them, participating in activities organised like weekly bingo, as well as other events throughout the year. Dad always had a good appetite and he enjoyed the food. Dad was always treated with respect, care and compassion. All the staff are amazing, kind and caring people and the care dad received was exceptional. We loved visiting dad, joining in with activities like bingo, talking to other residents and carers. We will always be grateful for the care shown to our dad. Burntwood Hall is simply outstanding!

Visited my mother-in-law today she looked very comfortable sat with other residents in the main lounge area, we were welcomed by the staff who when asked by us if Mum was OK responded by reassuring us that she had a comfortable night and was doing well she also told us where she was and asked if we
would like a drink. We stayed with Mum until lunchtime and during the time we sat with her the staff interacted with us and the other residents in a pleasant and respectable way we always go home feeling comfortable leaving our Mum in there care .

As a daughter of a resident in the Chestnuts in Grimsby I am very happy with the standard of care my mother receives. The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble, they also make us visitors feel at home too all residents are treated with respect and dignity.although my mum has one of the smaller
rooms she is happy and settled in it.management are also very helpful if we have a problem they go above and beyond to fix it.finally I would like to express my concerns about making the activity room into another bedroom as this only leaves the lounge for everyone to sit in and it's just not big enough also there is nowhere to do any activities it's is in my opinion the wrong thing to do as it's only going to be the residence that suffer ,it is out of the hands of the Chestnuts's management and goes much higher,I hope this can be solved.
Reply from Michael Baty, Regional Manager at Chestnuts Care CentreThank you for your positive comments surrounding the staff and management team, I will be pleased to pass your comments onto them as I no they will appreciate your excellent feedback. Due to our recent visit from our regulators we had to find a longer term sustainable solution to enable the home to continue with its high standard of care.
After a comprehensive review of all available options, supported by a building survey, we regrettably had no alternative but to return one of the existing bedroom spaces previously used as an additional lounge back to its original purpose.
A relatives meeting was held over 2 dates to discuss the changes. During these meetings, we discussed the proposed arrangements with alternative plans to mitigate any long-term impact. As a result, effective measures have been put in place, with alternative locations made available throughout the home to ensure residents continue to have suitable options for communal and lounge areas.

From my partners observations she is a resident in the care home, together with my observations being a regular visiter to the home, both our opinions are that the staff are very professional and caring in all aspects of care for the residents. As well as the normal running of the home, there is provision
for leisure activities ie concerts, music nights and occasional trips out. To places that interest the residents. All in all I feel that the care home is excellent.

My wife spent the last four days of her life in this care home. She was treated with dignity and kindness the whole time she was in. The staff also treated myself and any visitors with kindness and understanding, nothing was a problem, they were constantly visiting the room to check on us. Since her
death I have visited the care home on many occasions and have been made very welcome. I would not hesitate to recommend Chilton Care Centre.

My Aunt has been in Whim Hall Care Home for over 5 years and I would like to thank the Staff and Management for the care that was provided for my Aunt. Staff were always approachable. Nothing was too much trouble and anything that was asked of the Carers was promptly attended to. My Aunt was treated
with respect and dignity at all times and she was always at ease when Staff were interacting with her. She enjoyed the musical entertainment, church services and visits from Holly the dog. I was always welcomed when I visited and informed of how my Aunt was getting on, as things were not always easy due to her condition. Visiting was always a pleasure and cups of tea readily available. Thank you everyone at Whim Hall.

My brother was accepted into Whim Hall after a distressing and extended stay in hospital while awaiting an acceptable care package.
My family and I reside overseas and we are my brother's only relatives. While he has excellent friends who have supported him with his dementia journey, Whim has been
his rescue. We visited during the month of November and whilst my brother had only been living there for 6 weeks, his friends noted a change in his well being. He is enjoying the engagement with staff members, he remarks on the food as being very good and plenty of it. He loves that his clothes return washed to him every day. Whilst he is unhappy with his medical condition he says he feels happy at Whim and feels he is being well cared for. On my visits to Whim I could witness some very lovely caring being offered to other residents. Aged care is not an easy job and in many ways under appreciated, I hope the staff at Whim know we fully appreciate their high level of professionalism.
Reply from Lorna Gordon, manager at Whim Hall Care CentreSo glad to hear that your brother has settled well into his life at Whim Hall and is enjoying the experience, which can be slightly overwhelming when new to a care environment. Hoping your visit has reassured you that the team and myself ensure best practice and well being are foremost for all our residents. Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive review.
