Review of Ravendale Hall from D E (Son of Resident) published on 24 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mum has been in the care of Ravendale Hall and its brilliant staff since she sadly needed to be admitted in April 2024. At that time the Care Home were brilliant in sorting out, at very short notice (that day), a period of rest and respite for her.
As indicated, she has since then been cared for by the fantastic staff who are friendly, welcoming and attentive and who have really looked after her, such that she is looking a lot better due to having proper, regular cooked meals, with her medication monitored and now properly under control.
The building is an old Hall with lovely grounds and a homely environment. Mum's en-suite room is clean and spacious.
Communications with the family are good, with updates and permissions regarding medication or Covid/Flu jabs sought prior to anything being given.

The job is hard and often unglamorous, but the staff are, and have been, brilliant and we cannot thank them enough for the care they have given Mum.

Review of Ridgeway House from J M (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My father was cared for at Ridgeway and recently passed away peacefully. All staff were exceptionally kind, attentive, always going above and beyond ensuring we were all looked after as a whole family. Their interpersonal skills, while remaining professional, provided confidence and comfort. We are very grateful and would like to thank everyone for the laughter, kindness and support.

Reply from Latarnia Wheeler, Home Manager at Ridgeway House

Review of Cathedral Care Centre from Janet J (Wife of Resident) published on 8 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

All staff within Cathedral Care Home were excellent whilst my husband was in their care. Although he was only there for a relatively short time frame, he was welcomed into the family atmosphere by all management, nursing and other staff within the facility, who accommodated his needs, and gave him the care and dignity he required. This care, help and guidance was also extended to myself and our daughter whilst visiting. I would highly recommend Cathedral Care Home.

Review of Pine Trees Care Centre from Vince N (Son of Resident) published on 2 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

From the day my mother moved in and in her final hours at the end of life the Pine Trees team were fantastic. She absolutely loved living there it was a Home from Home and all of the team felt like family to her and us. Nothing was too much trouble. From what we witnessed all residents were looked after with the same care, attention, dignity and respect. The premises always looked clean and tidy and dare I say it it didn't have any of the unpleasant odours that you sometimes find in care homes. I would have no hesitation in recommending Pine Trees to anyone

most of the staff are brilliant but some are not one in particular if very rude when you ask her anything her attitude is really bad, twice my brother has asked this carer if my brother who is staying there if he had finished his breakfast and she answered so abrupt it was embarrassing

Reply from Michelle Lewis, Home Manager at The Maple Care Home

Hi Cynthia. I am really sorry to hear this. If you could come and speak to me around the issues with the staff member I can address it with the member of staff in question. The Maple is a happy home and we want to ensure all our residents receive the highest standard of care at all times.

Very please with the care home. Dad eats better here than he did at home. The social aspect is of great benefit to him and there is lots of encouragement to join in with activities and music. Dad seem very happy here, which is a great relief to his family.

Review of The Grange from S L (Ex Family Member) published on 29 June 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The rooms were dirty and not cleaned regularly - the staff very poor in communication to the family and the patient. There seemed very few staff that you knew and could take to - it appeared many staff changes and no continuity. The food was poor and nearly always cold when it got to his room. As there was a shortage of staff you often had to wait 15 - 20 minutes to get in or out. Communal areas were poor and smelly.

Review of Dearne Valley Care Centre from Tracey G (Daughter of Resident) published on 25 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Feel at peace knowing my mum is not only safe and being looked after but actually enjoys being here. The staff are lovely, every time you go there is always some kind of activity taking place with the staff encouraging everyone to participate. This can be anything from colouring to crosswords, karaoke and even kicking a ball to each other while sitting to encourage movement. If it's not activity time there is usually music, playing all the old songs which my mum and others are singing along to.
You would think going into a home mum would waste away like I have seen at previous homes with grandparents but mum has put a little weight on with the good food and biscuits they give them.
It is a small place so all the visitors know all the residents so when myself and my sister aren't there she always has someone to talk and have a laugh with.
Mum gets her hair done weekly and recently had opticians visit.

I can't recommend this place and all the staff on the dementia team highly enough.

Review of Cathedral Care Centre from David M (Nephew of Resident) published on 18 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My Uncle was placed at Cathedral for palliative care. From the minute he arrived to when he passed he was treated with dignity and an exceptional level of care. His room was clean and tidy and he had doors out into a garden area where he could see and hear the birds.
Tanya and Sam in the management team were very good and I thank them for their efficiency and help.
Special praise has to go to 2 people though. Firstly Sophie who was in charge on Sat 30th. She was fantastic and genuinely cared so much about the people in her care. She treated my Uncle with respect and dignity and when I wasn't able to be with him, she spent time with him, set up a bird feeder for him to see the birds close up and kept me updated every step of the way. Her warmth and personality shone through.

Last but no means least, Julie the cleaner. When I first met Julie I thought she was part of the management team, she was that good and supportive. It shows the caring mentality running throughout the team.

Review of Burntwood Hall Care Centre from P S (Daughter of Resident) published on 10 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Both our parents have been living at Burntwood Hall for about 6 months, in which time both mum & Dad have got to know the staff, and all the staff have got to know mum & Dad. They have got to know mum and Dads needs, likes, preferences and dislikes.
Consent is sort from Mum & Dad, they are provided with dignity, respect, built up a good working relationships.
Burntwood Hall has a very welcoming homely friendly atmosphere.
From what my sister & I have observed Staff from handy person to Home manager do their upmost for the individual. (Person centred care) We are also made to feel welcome at all times.
Burntwood Hall home manager as an open door policy, always has time to speak with us should we need.

As our parents have settled into living at Burntwood Hall and have a good trusting working relationship with all the staff-as helped put us at ease that the are cared for, health & hygiene met, have food/meal's cooked within the home, drinks, entertainment & as safe as can be.
