My Uncle was placed at Cathedral for palliative care. From the minute he arrived to when he passed he was treated with dignity and an exceptional level of care. His room was clean and tidy and he had doors out into a garden area where he could see and hear the birds.
Tanya and Sam in the management
team were very good and I thank them for their efficiency and help.
Special praise has to go to 2 people though. Firstly Sophie who was in charge on Sat 30th. She was fantastic and genuinely cared so much about the people in her care. She treated my Uncle with respect and dignity and when I wasn't able to be with him, she spent time with him, set up a bird feeder for him to see the birds close up and kept me updated every step of the way. Her warmth and personality shone through.
Last but no means least, Julie the cleaner. When I first met Julie I thought she was part of the management team, she was that good and supportive. It shows the caring mentality running throughout the team.

Both our parents have been living at Burntwood Hall for about 6 months, in which time both mum & Dad have got to know the staff, and all the staff have got to know mum & Dad. They have got to know mum and Dads needs, likes, preferences and dislikes.
Consent is sort from Mum & Dad, they are provided
with dignity, respect, built up a good working relationships.
Burntwood Hall has a very welcoming homely friendly atmosphere.
From what my sister & I have observed Staff from handy person to Home manager do their upmost for the individual. (Person centred care) We are also made to feel welcome at all times.
Burntwood Hall home manager as an open door policy, always has time to speak with us should we need.
As our parents have settled into living at Burntwood Hall and have a good trusting working relationship with all the staff-as helped put us at ease that the are cared for, health & hygiene met, have food/meal's cooked within the home, drinks, entertainment & as safe as can be.
Reply from Jane Davies, Manager at Burntwood Hall Care CentreThank you for taking the time to leave a review for Burntwood Hall. I will ensure the team receive your feedback.

From mum arriving at Alma on coming from hospital I have been impressed with everything. The welcome on her arrival was second to none. It was as if she'd been away for the day. Staff are all so friendly and approachable. Nothing a bother, long may this continue.

My mother is exceptionally well looked after by the management and staff of Alma McFadyen House. They know and understand her so well. The genuine care on display to all residents during my regular visits is warm, loving and attentive.

Since the new manager took over, things at the care home have greatly improved. There is so much more going on for the residents and I know my mum has now settled, even though this has taken some time. She knows it's her home now and I feel this is down to all the caring & supportive staff at the home.

My father has been a resident at Alma McFadyen House for 1 year and 4 months. When he went into the care home he was made welcome by staff. He settled right in, he loves his bedroom, that overlooks the lovely garden, and staff brought him a bird feeder which is attached to his window as he loves to
watch the birds. The staff keep the care home immaculately clean and dad is always dressed and turned out well. We feel the staff are like his extended family. The meals provided are tasty and they have a good choice. At the moment the cooked breakfasts are going down a storm! I'm so happy we chose Alma House for him, as I know he is very well cared for.

Cathedral Care Home was recommended to me by the daughter of another resident, I am pleased that I took a look.
My sister became a resident in October 2024, and from the start I have felt that she has received nothing but the best care. The staff relate to her needs and whims. I have noted the quality
of care comes from the top down, with both the management and staff doing the best for the residents in a caring manner.
I am fully confident she is being cared and looked after in the best possible way.
Reply from Samantha Pagram, Regional Manager at Cathedral Care CentreThank you so much for your lovely message, Lesley! I'll be sure to pass your kind words on to the team - they truly mean a lot to us all. It's an absolute pleasure having your sister with us. She is very much part of our little management team and always brightens our days with her wonderful personality and smile. Thank you again for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review.

My Grandad is currently in Canwick. The staff treat him very well. He does many activities with Andrea who is very good with him. Whenever I visit I always feel Grandad is in a happy place, the staff look after Grandad really well. And Debra always makes sure he has his juice or a cup of tea.

My Mum lived at The Ridgeway for 3 years until she passed away in March 2026. The staff are absolutely amazing and helped Mum and me and my family navigate a very difficult period in our lives with so much care and compassion. They really are a family and the atmosphere is always upbeat and very friendly
and there is always a cup of coffee and time for a chat and a hug. The activities are varied and Mum started to paint, she had never painted in her life so this was wonderful that the activities coordinator managed to persuade her to try something new. I cannot put into words how grateful my family are for the amazing care Mum received and how 'looked after' we were when Mum passed away. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Ridgeway to anyone, it absolutely is fabulous.
Reply from Latarnia Wheeler, Home Manager at Ridgeway HouseThankyou so much for your wonderful review, It was the greatest pleasure to look after your mum and we value your kind words towards our staff team. I will be sure to pass on your compliments. We take great pride in being a family orientated home and our relatives mean just as much to us as our residents do.

My grandad is currently here for rest bite, the staff are very helpful and very friendly and take good care and meet the needs of him. The staff are also very welcoming and friendly to me and my family members. Always a lovely atmosphere as you enter the building and very calm. Nice building and garden
and his room is of good size and always clean. He seems a lot happier and the care he is receiving is of outstanding quality.
