The Review Score of 8.1 (maximum of 10) for Glenesk is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 3 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Glenesk in Google's Search Results - more info
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.
The Average Rating of 4.889 for Glenesk is calculated as follows: ( (32 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.889
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.
1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.
If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

Glenesk is a comfortable, welcoming home. There is still a bit of décor to be done but I am certain it will be carried out ASAP. Things are being done in order of importance for residents, not just visitors. Management listens to the relatives suggestions and if at all possible takes them on board. It has improved so much in the last 4 and a half years my father has been there and I can honestly say, if it was not for the care and attention he has received there, he would not be here. I have recommended Glenesk to my friend for her mother.
How likely would you be to recommend Glenesk? Extremely Likely

Thank you for your lovely heartfelt review. As you mentioned, we have a refurbishment program in place, tackling one room at a time with the lounge next on our list! See you soon.

A very friendly care home where the staff work to excellent standards. It is well managed by a team that is focused on giving the best patient-centred care it can. The days are structured well with numerous activities taking place that are well lead. The home cooked food make meal time enjoyable, but it is the caring attitude shown by all the staff that Glenesk should be most proud of.

Thank you for your kind words. It's been a pleasure having your mother here with us and getting to know her. While she will be missed dearly, we were happy to hear that she'll be paying us a visit now and again.
