My aunt went into this care home after suffering a stroke in Dec 2025. Because of her stroke she has been left unable to use the left side of her body so her care needs couldn't be met at home. Since the very first phone call with the home to discuss her needs everything has been done in a fantastic caring way. The managers and all staff have made us feel very welcome and all her needs are being met in a kind and respectful way. She is now making friends and is enjoying all the activities that are put on for her. I personally feel so much better and less stressed knowing that my aunt has 24 hour support. The home has good security for the residents, a signing in and out book so they know who is visiting, is clean and the gardens are well kept. They have notice boards with information for you to read and are available for you to ask any questions that you may have. Overall I recommend this care home, both myself and my aunt are happy that she is here.

My husband moved to Ashlands recently for respite following a crisis. I phoned Ashlands as it is new and has a good rating, and was immediately impressed by the manager. She obviously cares about the residents and, where possible, enables them to live as they want while being honest about what is possible. Importantly, she confirmed to me that where possible, they will keep residents to end of life if at all possible. The staff are polite and calm, helpful, and caring to residents and visitors. The rooms are light, and residents have a choice of where they sit as there are 4 dining areas. The food is plentiful and looks appetising. Requests are responded to promptly where possible.

My wife has been a resident of Ashlands Care Home for the past four years; she has dementia. The care she receives is excellent. I do feel that since the new management team has been in place, the care she receives has gone up another level. All the staff are pleasant and caring and do an excellent job. She is always clean, and the meals are excellent. I am kept informed of any issues that arrive.

The new manager has made a lot of improvements over the last few months. More robust procedures as required by the CQC, staff training is up to date. A big bonus is the recruitment of an activity coordinator who is encouraging the residents to get involved. Mum seems happy and well looked after by the care staff.

We, as a family, are very happy to see our mam so settled and content in this very welcoming home. All staff are wonderful and do all they can for mam, including the chefs, as mum's very fussy.

Couldn't wish for a better place for our mam to stay.

Mum has been a resident for over four years and the care & understanding of all the staff is second to none. I have seen a great deal of improvements over the years which is continuing both in the structure of the home and the care provided. The home is clean and any issues are dealt with in a timely manner. The food is of a very high standard with choices given at each meal time. Daily activities are continuing to improve. Mum being a resident in the home means that I can rest assured that she is safe & being well looked after.

My Nan has not been at Ashland's for long but the staff and management made her move there, very smooth and welcoming.
The care home is immaculate, always smells clean and has a homely feel. The food is fresh and looks great!
Staff have made a huge effort to get to know Nan and they make time for her. She has felt safe and cared for.
Since becoming a resident at Ashland's, Nan had a period of illness. The staff have been kind, attentive and caring. They have gone to great efforts to ensure that she is comfortable and respected. Family members have also been welcomed- offered drinks when visiting and always kept in the loop about Nans care.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Ashland's to others wanting a care home for their loved ones.
