Just picked up mum from 10 days respite care first time we have used spennymoor care home, was welcomed with happy mum looking very well cared for and warm welcome from staff, asked mum if she enjoyed her stay and she said it was the best home she had been to over the last 10 years of respite in various care homes around Bolton, I recieved messages while I was away on holiday of updates on how mum was doing and that helped us to enjoy our holiday knowing she was settled and cared for. I cannot thank the staff enough for giving us all a well cared and professional level of care for mum, mum was dancing away with singer so made her stay feel like a holiday aswell. would definitely be using spennymoor in the future for respite, excellent care home.

We placed our very elderly father in the care of Spennymoor after his health and mobility deteriorated. The entire team at Spennymoor was amazing and helped this stressful transition for our father go smoothly. We,as a family, can not praise this care home enough for the care, dignity and good humour they displayed toward Dad in the final weeks of his last life. He was looked after so well. We definitely made the right choice by choosing this home for him.

My first impression was it was more like a lovely B&B than a care home. Having visited my mother many many times since I have no reason to change that view, it always being spotlessly clean, warm and the staff friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.

After a stay in hospital it became apparent that our auntie couldn't look after herself safely in her own home any longer. When we entered Spennymoor Care Home we felt it was the right home for her, it was cosy, homely and very clean. The staff were all welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. During the last week of our auntie's life we spent many hours at her bedside and the staff were supportive and reassuring to all the family. The love and care they showed Auntie was amazing and although it was a very sad time, we were happy that she couldn't have been in a better place. Thank you all so much.

Thank you so much to the amazing team at Spennymore, especially two members of staff who were so loving and caring. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and during a particularly difficult week, it was a comfort that they were there when it was time for us to go home. I cannot thank you both enough for the time and reassurance you gave me and my family. We will always remember how warm and welcoming you all were at Spennymore.

Sadly my dad passed away recently, and the whole family are certain that he could not have been looked after any better elsewhere. I'd finally like to thank the staff for the care and support they gave to my mum during my dad's final hours and after his death.

This care home is the best place to be for a loved one.

Everything you would hope to find when looking for a home for a loved one Spennymoor management and staff have managed to create; it gives great peace of mind leaving a loved one in their care.

Cannot thank the carers and managers of Spennymoor enough. My mother-in-law has only been in this home a week, and the difference is unbelievable. Thank you to you all. It is lovely to see her looking so happy and well looked after today.

My mum has been living at Spennymoor now for 6-months, and I can’t believe how happy she is. She always said that she never wanted to end up in a care home and yet, right from the start, she settled in beautifully. The staff are so warm, kind and caring, and they look after my mum as if she were family. It almost feels like Spennymoor is run like a big family house. My mum loves to eat and she says that all the meals are delicious. My mum is so well looked after, and she now looks much healthier than she did when she went in. During these Covid times, the staff have been great at helping my mum keep in touch with family via FaceTime, and on my first face to face visit recently, they couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend Spennymoor.

On our first visit, we saw immediately the cleanliness and quality of this beautifully maintained home, together with the happy and welcoming atmosphere created by its owners and staff. My Mum has been resident there for seven months now, after facing the reality that she could no longer look after herself at home. The care and love she has received there has been outstanding. She is settled, happy and her health has improved visibly during that time. The support we have received has also been invaluable as we have adjusted to the change, and we are very grateful to the management and staff for their continued commitment to Mum’s welfare and our happiness as a family. We receive a warm welcome every time we visit and we are always struck by the knowledge, experience and professionalism of the carers. The quality of the care they give is exceptional and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have chosen such a dedicated team of people to look after my Mum.

My grandad was at Spennymoor for several months and unfortunately passed away in January. The care he received was fantastic, I wish the website would allow me to name names because the ladies that work here deserve a huge thank you. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who needed care.

On entering the building, the staff are welcoming and friendly. The home is a warm family environment, always bright and attractive. Both my cousin's room and the common areas are spotlessly clean. Whenever I visit my cousin, who has numerous mobility issues, the staff cater well for her personal needs ensuring she is comfortable and always smartly dressed and clean.

Mum was only a resident for a short time but was very happy there. The staff were always around helping residents, giving out drinks and generally chatting. Mum enjoyed taking part in the activities they offered. It was spotless and homely. All the staff were courteous and helpful, always making visitors welcome, they obviously enjoy their jobs and this was reflected in the happy atmosphere.

My father is currently in for respite care. From the very first enquiries with the home, my impressions were of genuine friendliness. Every query was addressed with utmost efficiency. It’s never easy leaving a precious loved one in someone else’s care but neither my mum or sister had any doubts. My father has looked relaxed, happy and very well cared for during his stay. It’s a real home from home. Spennymoor is so good I want to move in myself!

My mother recently needed to be placed in respite care, as my father was hospitalized with a suspected heart attack. The mental health support team secured a room at Spennymoor for her, and she couldn't have been made more welcome. My mother, who has dementia and diabetes, was looked after wonderfully. I am so grateful to the staff there, they were top class.

My mother-in-law, who is 103 years old, has been in this home for fourteen years. It was chosen for her after visiting several other homes. Spennymoor provides a very caring environment. We feel that she is safe and happy there. The staff are always willing to discuss any issues, which arise and we work in partnership with them to ensure her well-being. It was lovely on her birthday, a couple of weeks ago, that they had taken the trouble to bake a cake for her.

Spennymoor was brought to our attention after a recommendation from a family friend. It’s a great location for us, very reasonably priced, with plenty of parking. The home itself is very clean, and the residents are looked after and cared for by a wonderful team of staff. There are regular activities to engage the residents, so they have something to look forward to. There’s always a brew going and the staff make time during visits to verbally report on any concerns, progress or otherwise. Mum-in-law still residing here for an (at present), unknown length of time. Would definitely recommend.
