My relative has dementia that had reached a point where she was unable to stay in her own home for her own health & safety. She needs the 24/7 care for her wellbeing. Wentworth house has always had a decent reputation in the area but I have not had any experience . so glad that we chose this as her new home. it is smaller than many in the area which feels more like a family environment where you get to know all the staff & the residents.
The staff are all so lovely, pleasant & treat the residents like they are family. They have such patience and there is some humour and great interaction along the way which is needed .
My relative has become less stressed and more content.
Her room is clean, neat and tidy. The residents are kept clean and well presented.
Due to the size of the home they can't have lots of activities going on at the same time but When they do they are really well organised.

The music or TV is relevant to the residents ages which really helps.

My mother moved into the care home in January which was a big step for her family.

The home is small with only 26 residents and we have peace of mind she is being very well looked after. All the staff are friendly and very caring and attentive - they are always present looking after the residents. Nothing is to much trouble. We feel lucky we have found her a home that she is settled in and we are very happy with.

Reply from Corrine Cooke, Manager at Wentworth House

We visited a friend of a very long standing who was delighted to see us, and we immediately felt a very warm welcoming feeling from the first instance, from ringing the bell. The staff are lovely, on our second visit we were offered exactly the same very friendly kind welcome. We were so pleased our friend was living in such a very nice home, hence I felt I must fill in your invitation to comment. (Thanks so much for this opportunity)

It means a great deal to know that our team made you feel so comfortable on both visits,...

My sister came to live at Wentworth House Care Home a couple of months ago, and I have to say I am very impressed with the care that she is recieving. Her room is lovely, she is treated with respect, the staff are kind and attentive, the home is always immaculate, although we haven't been there at mealtimes, she tells me that she enjoys her food, and any queries are I have are treated with respect and all questions answered. We find that we can rest easy, knowing she is safe and comfy.

My dad has been a resident at Wentworth for nearly a year, and we couldn't be happier. In that time, the home has been beautifully transformed into a warm, welcoming, and well-maintained place. We've met the owner several times, and it's clear how much he truly cares. His passion for high standards and his genuine interest in the residents' happiness is clear every time we visit. He always has time for a chat and truly knows the people who live there.

My dad is always smiling - he loves the animal days, and he enjoys his haircuts (even if there's not much left!). The staff are friendly, kind, and full of energy. It means the world to us knowing he's surrounded by people who care deeply.

We're so grateful that my dad is able to enjoy the time he has left in such a fantastic environment. Thank you to the manager and the entire team at Wentworth for creating a home that brings peace of mind.

My mum had to go into residential care after a long period in hospital, and it was concerning regarding where she would be living. We found Wentworth, and even before Mumumwent, I knew it was the right place for her. The staff are are outstanding - they are very caring and always welcoming. They are like a second family, and Mum always says how lovely they all are. She is happy there, and I can rest assured she is in safe & caring hands. Also absolutely brilliant.

One of the hardest decisions I've had to make - but one of the best. Wentworth House was recommended to me by a former community nurse as the best residential care home for my father who suffers from dementia. Dad has been a resident now for 18 months. He is generally settled and happy and I am confident that he is in the best place. The staff have taken time to get to know him and are attentive and caring. A recent change in ownership has resulted in continuing improvements, including efforts to increase staffing levels.

My mum has been looked after here since May 2014. The care and love she has been shown is outstanding and they are like her second family. The home is clean, warm and very friendly and staff are excellent. Food is good. Mum enjoys living here although she hated losing her independence she has settled in very well. It is a very well run home from top to bottom.

Mum has been a resident for 6 years, the care she has received has been exceptional by all the caregivers working there. She is well cared for and all her needs are met (apart from family unable to visit due to Covid) we have had a couple of visits through the window and staff have accommodated this. Food is plentiful and nutritious. We as a family would recommend this care home.

Mum has been a resident at Wentworth House for just over 3 months now and although she is still settling in, so far so good. Mum has mixed dementia and needs a lot of stimulation which Wentworth offers in abundance. With lockdown, Mum's condition worsened considerably and so after a successful period of respite in another care home, we took the decision as a family to find permanent care. Wentworth came highly recommended by an extended family member and social worker. We have found the staff and manager so helpful, caring and supportive to both Mum and her needs as well as ours as a family. We’ve not had a chance to visit mum inside due to Covid rules but as others have commented the daily updates and pictures on Facebook really help and our phone calls to help keep in touch.

The staff have been very professional, caring and friendly while my Mother has been in residence over the past 2 years. I and my family were always made to feel welcome and supported when visiting. They were very proactive in keeping all there residents safe from the COVID virus by locking down at a very early stage in the beginning of the pandemic before most other places and I would like to thank them immensely for the updates that they have put on social media regarding her health and well being. It has also been rewarding for me, that photos and videos of my Mother are shared during this lockdown too, which is something I will always be able to treasure and cherish. My Mother always looked comfortable and happy in a very safe and caring environment.

Mum has been resident for almost 3 years, having Dementia and Alzheimer's. She moved in after being unable to cope at home. Almost from the moment she arrived the improvement in her was apparent. The staff were really friendly and made her so welcome. They took time to help her settle and help my sister and I come to terms with Mum going into residential care. It has been my experience that all the staff are always professional and caring. They display empathy and understanding and the care is certainly person-centred. Mum always looks well cared for whenever I visit or more recently look at the Facebook updates there are always activities going on to keep her mind stimulated. I really appreciated the video call on her birthday and the effort the staff had put in to celebrate with her. I cannot thank the staff enough for what they do and I am so grateful to them for keeping her safe and well during these difficult times.

Uncle had been in another Care Home from hospital for continuing care and review.
He was assessed for 24-hour care, at which time we had to search for a suitable care home for his needs.
Having visited and reviewed many care homes in the Salford area, we put his name on the waiting list for Wentworth House. We found that the atmosphere in this Care Home, together with the management and staff was far superior to all the others which we visited.
And we are so pleased to say that it has lived up to all our expectations. And most especially during this very difficult time.
Although we have not been allowed to visit Uncle, we are kept up to date with all the activities, birthdays etc. by the photos on the Wentworth House Facebook Page.
He has settled so well, has put weight on and looks to be so well compared to when was admitted. And he is smiling a lot more by joining in all the activities - especially Dominoes! - Previously he never left his room.

A big thank you!

Our mum was a resident at Wentworth House for 8.5 years, she was admitted as she was suffering from Alzheimer's and was unable to live at home any longer. The home was recommended to us and she was very happy there.
Whilst she was there she received excellent care at all times, as time went on she was unable to do very little without aid so there was always a member of staff to help her with care, dignity, respect, and a smile too. It is obvious from the outset that the staff genuinely care for their residents. Some of the staff who were there when mum entered the home are still there now.

I would recommend Wentworth House without any hesitation.

Thank you to the Management and Staff for taking such good care of mum during her time with you. xx

Mum has been a resident at Wentworth House for over 4 years, during which time she has received excellent care from the management team and carers. The staff are respectful, but even when Mum can be a bit awkward they know that they can be firm and use humour to bring her round. She has a bright airy room where she is happy to spend most of the day in.

My mum is very comfortable at Wentworth House. The staff are extremely caring and very attentive to her needs. She is very deaf but they always make themselves understood. The staff are also fun and make mum laugh. She is very safe and her medicines are given to her accurately. The food is well-cooked and varied. The home is always immaculate and her bedroom and ensuite kept especially clean and tidy. We are delighted with the home and so is my mum.
