My mum was here for over 3 years, in that time we got to know the lovely, caring staff. My mum was really happy + content here, she was very well cared for in all aspects. She enjoyed her food, made by the cook, who went above + beyond with my mum - she would sit with mum + peel her some fruit. The care staff - where do I start, wonderful, caring, trusting & couldn't do enough, as were the management . THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a heartfelt review. It truly means a great deal to all of us at Ashbourne House. It was an absolute privilege to care for your mum over the past three years. We are delighted to hear that she was happy and content during her time with us, as...
Ashbourne House is an amazing care home. It's very comfortable, welcoming and friendly the staff are amazing they are there for all the residents' needs no matter what level of care they need. The owners, staff and managers are empathetic and very hands-on with the care and well-being of all the residents. They have very comfortable lounges to sit in a nice dining room where the food is cooked fresh every day with a varied menu on offer from the wonderful in-house chef. The home is well maintained as well as a lovely garden for the residents and visitors to sit out in. Refreshments and biscuits are always available for residents and visitors. The rooms are very comfortable with all amenities available to them. The staff and managers are a credit to this wonderful care home

In the short time Audrey was in Ashbourne she could not have been looked after any better thanks to Martin and the excellent staff. Sadly Audrey's health deteriorated and she spent her last days in hospital.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and touching review.
It was truly an honour to welcome Audrey to Ashbourne House. Hearing how long you had known her and the role you have played in her life over the years is incredibly special she was very fortunate to have such a devoted friend looking...
The visits of external practitioners, for example, nurses for care to her feet, were most welcome.
Also, as a family, the management and the whole team were second to none. The consistency of the familiar faces help us and my mother greatly.
As a family-run home, we take great pride in maintaining consistency within our dedicated team. Ensuring that our residents are safe, healthy, and happily engaged is at the heart of our ethos. We truly appreciate your kind words and thoughtful review thank you for taking the time to share your experience
My cousin recently had a stay of 5 months in Ashbourne House, after a long spell in hospital. Although the hospital staff thought it was unlikely that she would be able to return to her own home, this remained her goal. It was thanks to the manager of Ashbourne House, that my cousin was eventually able to achieve her aim, and she is now at home once again. He arranged physiotherapy for her, and gave us support and encouragement throughout her stay. We feel that the care provided by him and all the staff at Ashbourne House was exemplary.
Thank you for this lovely review. It is always bittersweet when a resident leaves after their stay with us, and we truly miss this wonderful lady. She was an absolute pleasure to care for.We are incredibly proud to have played a part in her rehabilitation, helping her regain independence and return home-defying the odds given after her hospital discharge. We wish her all the best for the future
We highly recommend Ashbourne House.
Thank you, to you all.
Many thanks for your Kind words. We strive to make Ashbourne House a Home in every sense and it's wonderful to hear back from our resident's loved ones that their relatives and friends were happy safe and comfortable.
Outstanding care home! A really kind, caring and helpful manager and staff. Residents are cared for in a very comfortable homely environment. Very happy atmosphere! Recently our friend had a 90th birthday celebration and the management and staff could not have done more to enable us to share her special day with her. They put up decorations and provided a delicious buffet for her guests and made it a day to remember. Thank you to the manager and his excellent team.
Many thanks for your kind words. It was a pleasure to celibate a lovely lady's significant birthday, you were all so generous with your time to come and help us celebrate. You are all always most welcome to our home and hope you visit us again soon. Again our thanks for your kindness.
They facilitated my client's admission during challenging times and set up Covid safe visiting arrangements ensuring that safety was coupled with people's needs for human contact. Throughout my experience with the home, the manager and all the team were caring, compassionate and understanding. They were always cheerful and provided excellent person-centred care.
Sadly my client died recently and I can say unreservedly that her years at Ashbourne House enhanced her later life.
Thank You for your review. It is always nice to get positive feedback on the care my staff and myself provide, we will always fondly remember your client she was a wonderful lady and we are glad we were able to make her last few years bright safe and meaningful.
Mum moved into Ashbourne House in 2019, when she was unable to live independently. I had previously visited the home which offers a warm, caring, homely, professional environment so the decision was not difficult. The manager and the team now look after her every needs. To Mum, it’s known as ‘the Hotel’ offering delicious food, cosy rooms, with a variety of activities. Pampering, concerts, keep fit, birthdays, and quizzes - always something for the body and mind. The enclosed sunny rear garden and terrace are ideal for socialising and now complemented by the Summerhouse. The Jubilee Party provided by the staff was a great success enjoyed by residents and visitors, with music, decorations and lovely food and drinks. Visitors are always welcome to the Ashbourne family. The manager keeps us all updated with a regular Newsletter. During covid, this was particularly appreciated and with sound judgement and hard work, kept our loved ones safe. Thank you to the manager and every one of the staff team.
Superb care all round. From the moment mum and I met the manager and the team we knew this was the right place for mum. Throughout her 2-year stay, mum was well cared for, and all the staff were very kind and helpful. The pandemic was a difficult time for us all and the manager and the team made incredible personal and professional efforts to keep up the highest standards of care and safe visiting methods throughout this time. The staff have a great blend of professionalism and understanding and a healthy sense of humour. On a practical note, the rooms are pleasant, the garden is superb and enjoyed by all, and the food was always tasty and tailored to the residents as their needs changed. The pandemic had ruled out the usual entertainers, and recreational visitors, but the team made sure every effort was made to have activities and celebrate events. Personally, there were difficult times and I spoke often to the staff and they were always deeply helpful. Recommended 100%.
My Mum has been in the care of the Team at Ashbourne House for over 3 years now and we have been delighted with the support and care that she has been afforded. This is a privately owned, relatively small home that gives personal attention and care to its residents including doing a brilliant job keeping them safe through COVID. They are always looking for activities to keep the residents active and engaged with themed events and celebrations. My Mum is very happy at Ashbourne and at 96 still retains an appetite for company and enjoyment which is a testament to the environment that Ashbourne create.
Our Antie needed a helping hand, it was her turn to be looked after, as she had become frail, after being an independent social butterfly all her life. I cannot praise Ashbourne House enough for their kindness, patience, and being on the ball with Antie's health issues and care she has settled in wonderfully and now sees Ashbourne House as her home, her words “the girls are so kind and patient, the manager does a wonderful job I can’t praise him enough I’m so grateful, the food is homemade and the chef can’t do enough for us all“. She has a lovely room at the front of the house, love to all the staff at Ashbourne House you have given us peace of mind and our Antie a forever home.
My family and I cannot recommend Ashbourne House highly enough to anyone who is involved in the difficult process of seeking residential care for a loved one. My mum has been at Ashbourne since 2019 and we are so happy with the care she has received. During lockdown, the staff went out of their way to keep families in contact (Skype, window visits and eventually garden and summer house visits). The manager and staff keep us informed of any GP visits or changes and as a result we are regularly reassured about mum’s health and wellbeing. Mum herself tells us constantly how lovely all the staff are, how wonderful the food is and refers to Ashbourne now as “home”. The staff are kind, thoughtful and welcoming, as well as being compassionate and professional in their care of the people there.
My Aunty looked so well and was really in the party spirit.
Lovely place with lovely, kind, and knowledgeable staff. It was nice to see all residents together outside in the fresh air having sun, fun, and delicious food (compliments to the chef).
Can’t comment on facilities, cleanliness, and rooms as not seen inside.
I would highly recommend Ashbourne House to anyone who is in the process of looking for residential care for their loved one. My Mum lived at Ashbourne House for 2 yrs until her death (age 96) in March 2022. Lockdown arrived shortly after Mum settled in so no visiting but phone, Skype and any other means of communication was put in place in order to keep in contact. Window & garden visits shortly followed. The Manager and Staff are caring in a professional manner but mixed with humour, compassion, patience, respect and dedication. The manager goes over and above the call of duty to support his residents and their well-being. “This is their home” he would say. All the staff I came into contact with were just so lovely. Our family always felt welcome and comfortable when discussing mums care. Mum loved food and Ashbourne catered superbly. Mum felt content and safe with the care and attention she received, which gave us peace of mind. Thank You Ashbourne House.
I am immensely proud of our Care home and the care we offer our residents and it is heartwarming to get such a lovely review.
My Dad received excellent care from the team at Ashbourne House. The home has a homely feel to it and a friendliness which helped my Dad feel comfortable throughout his stay. He used to love sitting on the patio area and experience the beautiful well kept gardens. He enjoyed both the privacy of his own room and the communal eating and activities, which were regularly organised. Thankfully the management were successful in keeping Covid out of the home throughout the Pandemic and they were able to coordinate an in-house vaccination rollout very early in, which no doubt saved many lives. My Dad also was supplied with his own vegetable area. I felt all residents were cared for and respected.
Many thanks for taking the time to pass on your experience. My staff worked tirelessly through the pandemic and I am so proud we were able to able to keep the virus out of our home.
Ashbourne House and its staff have been a Godsend for my father-in-law, his daughter and myself. Clean, spacious, comfortable house and garden, great food, great care and kindness, compassion rarely found in this world. The last 8 months of my father-in-law's life were transformed by the staff of Ashbourne and it has given him dignity. He died aged 98 peacefully after suffering inoperable bowel cancer. Thank you Ashbourne!
My Mum has recently had to move from Ashbourne House to a nursing home. During her time at Ashbourne House she was very happy. She always commented that the staff were lovely and that she was extremely happy there. I always felt that my Mum was in safe hands as the care and support the staff gave my Mum was wonderful. The manager kept me well informed of any GP visits that Mum required and was always at the end of the phone to answer any queries I might have. The atmosphere at Ashbourne House is warm and welcoming and the staff always greet you with a smile. I am so pleased that my Mum was able to spend time here.
My mum has been here four months now, long enough for her to settle and to confirm our good first impressions. She tells me that all the staff are very kind and helpful and that she is impressed by how clean the home is. As another reviewer said, it only ever smells (appetisingly) when cooking's on the go and mum likes the food; she is only surprised by how often and how much is offered.
I have found that liaison between the home and health professionals including opticians is excellent. I feel welcome when I visit and kept very well informed about any significant matters about mum's daily routine. Above all, mum is happy there and I'm happy that she is safe and well looked after.
We recently moved our beloved mum into this wonderful home. Obviously, we were all (especially Mum) nervous and extremely worried about such an enormous change of lifestyle, surroundings and routine.
Everything promised by the wonderful family who managed this wonderful, caring establishment was delivered and more, much more.
Our lives have been enriched by this wonderful experience, instead of it being a depressing and soul destroying journey.......everyone at Ashbourne House has made this a truly joyous adventure that we as a family are embracing and hoping will not end for a long, long time.
So many many thanks to one and all Ashbourne House, which we now all call HOME.
