That's why they offer freshly prepared, home cooked meals with plenty of choice on their daily menus, alongside a varied programme of daily activities designed to encourage enjoyment, social interaction and wellbeing. Residents are welcome to eat in their room if they wish to do so.
Their beautiful, spacious garden provides a peaceful outdoor retreat where residents can relax, enjoy the fresh air and make the most of the seasons. Inside, they continually invest in refreshing and improving the home to keep it looking welcoming, comfortable and cared for.

The home does not have a separate Dementia Care Unit but they do reserve their ground floor rooms for individuals living with high dependency care needs such as immobility, nursing or hoist requirements.

Amazing all round staff, special shout out to Nadia and Alex. They kept us informed every step of the way with my mother-in-law whilst she was in their care (she has since passed away). They treat the residents with care, dignity and compassion. Every room is spotless and the choice of menu's is amazing. Beautifully kept grounds which are very peaceful to sit in. We have recently made the tough decision to place mum in a care home. Anyone who has been through this will know how difficult that is. We looked at a few and decided as a family that Mayfield Care home was the best one for mum. Mum started early in August 2025 and we have been delighted with how well she has settled. The managers are absolutely fantastic and have all been very welcoming and understanding even when we may of come over as overbearing due to stress of course. They have been efficient, professional, knowledgeable and very caring giving us support and advice during the settling in period. The care staff are all lovely and have looked after mum so well and any questions we have had have been answered. Since mum has started she has seen the GP attached to Mayfield and the optician . The home always smells fresh and clean. Mums room is always tidy and small things like pyjamas folded on the bed and soft toys placed to welcome mum to her room make it special.

My biggest complaint about the home is the overwhelming smell of urine, which makes visiting very unpleasant. On occasions, there has been an overlying scent of floral cover-up. The dining table and residents' trays always have traces of the previous meal. I think these issues are enough for now, and enough to discourage a recommendation.

Nadia has been with Mayfield for over 10 years and has an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care as well as a Diploma Level 5 in Leadership and Management.
