Clough House Residential Care Home is situated in a beautiful lovely conservation area in the centre of Leyland, close to Worden Park, St Andrews Church, Leyland Cross and the Tesco Supermarket and shopping area. It was built at the end of the 17th Century as a private dwelling house, but with the addition of a six-bedroom extension became a care home in the late 1980s.

Residents are accommodated on two floors, with chair lift access to the first floor. There are 14 single rooms, some with beamed ceilings, two spacious lounge areas, as well as a separate dining room and an enclosed garden to the rear accompanied with garden areas to the front.

The care home provides all the mod cons that one would come to expect from a modern day care home from the comprehensive nurse call system to modern day central heating and double glazing.

All food is prepared and freshly cooked on the premises with a choice of menus. A varied menu of traditional home cooking is provided as well as diabetic and specialist diets where specified.

All staff are suitably trained in care services, the majority with NVQ qualifications.

My dad moved in at the end of November and we, as a family, were worried as we didn't think he'd settle. Straight away, the staff looked after him and made a fuss of him to settle him in. Gave us reassurance with how he was during the week. We visit most days and are always welcomed. Dad always seems
settled and enjoys the food. There seems to be a few activities that the residents take part in each week and dad is encouraged to take part, which he needs. The staff really care about the residents and you can tell that when you visit. A lovely care home that feels like a home from home and has alleviated our worries about dad's care moving forward.

My Mum was only with you a couple of months but we as a family couldn't fault the care and individual interaction you gave to her. Excellent care home for that homely and family feel. No matter what time we came the residents were always so happy and content.

Amazing place. All the staff are lovely, very caring and super friendly. My dad was there for just five weeks, but they literally helped him so much with lots of things he had going on. He didn’t want to leave at the end of his respite. They kept me in the loop always and nothing was ever too much trouble.

My Nan has lived at Clough House for a few years now and is always happy and speaks very fondly of all of the staff and the excellent care she receives. Support staff at Clough House consider every resident as family and they are treated with kindness, dignity and respect.
The home is always clean
and well-presented and the communal areas and private rooms are decorated with personal details and images of all of the residents.
Residents have a range of fun, games and activities every day, my nan's personal favourite is the karaoke days when she is up singing and dancing. Support staff post regular updates on social media and this has been so reassuring seeing my nan happy and enjoying herself, especially during the Covid lockdown times when we were unable to visit safely. Staff worked incredibly hard to prioritise the safety of the residents and maintain their emotional well-being during those times.
Every member of the staff is exceptional and I am grateful to each and every one of you.

I wish to highlight the excellent care given to my mother last year as she reached the end of her life. I have been very happy with the care given at Clough House throughout the pandemic and beyond. The staff were wonderful as Mum's health failed and they happily supported my decision for Mum to stay
at Clough House rather than be admitted to hospital, which was a huge relief to me. Their end-of-life care was fantastic, they looked after Mum as though she were their own mother and I was truly grateful for this. I highly recommend Clough House, it's a lovely place.

My mum moved to Clough House in August 2022 and was there for five months. I have to say her care was excellent all the staff were warm, friendly and obviously cared a great deal about their residents. Mum enjoyed the activities, singing, etc, that the staff organised. Family and friends that visited
were always made to feel welcome. I would thoroughly recommend Clough House.

My grandma was a resident here for twelve months until she recently passed away. The staff were brilliant, caring and very attentive to their residents. I loved following their activities on Facebook, especially during lockdown and could tell she was in good spirit and well looked after at the home.

My grandma was recently cared for by the wonderful staff at Clough House Care Home. My grandma was cared for very well, the staff are friendly and are all warm, happy and very genuine.
Although not a naturally sociable person, my grandma took part in fun activities and settled eventually! And the many
photographs on Facebook captured just how much fun everyone was having. My grandma was treated with respect and dignity at all times. When admitted to hospital the staff regularly kept family updated and attempted to contact the hospital for updates several times a day. Communication from the hospital was not so good and the team at Clough House and family wanted her back with them, but unfortunately this wasn’t to be.
The family are very grateful that the last twelve months of her life was spent in a warm, safe, caring environment where she was happy and well looked after.
Thank you again to each and every member of staff from the chef, domestic and the carers themselves.

Our Dad went into Clough House last September and it has become home to him. We were initially anxious when he went there but our anxieties were soon resolved. I feel the home has gone from strength to strength under the manager's guidance and all team. They are friendly to relatives, caring to the
residents. I am so pleased that they have activities involving all the residents in what they want to do, it seems on a daily basis. The meals and decor have improved and they are always looking at how to improve things for the residents. My dad looks contented and happy. What more can I say.

If you are looking for a first-class residential care home then look no further than Clough House. This is my Grandad’s third week at Clough House and as a family, we wish that it would have been his first care home. Every single member of staff is welcoming and ensures all residents feel part of one
big family. The staff are excellent, they are friendly and very caring, and nothing is too much trouble for them. My Grandad is very comfortable, settled and is looked after remarkably well. Although we have only known the care home for a matter of weeks we know that it is a well-run and organised establishment. They offer a huge range of activities daily: games, painting, dancing, signings, play doh, cake making to name a few. We are looking forward to getting a better insight into how the care home works with the residents once we are allowed to visit (post covid). For now, though, we are more than happy and reassured that my Grandad is in the best hands possible.

I feel the home is very clean, the carers are always happy to help and go the extra mile for any of the residents. It’s very rare to have a full team of staff that works so well together even with the pandemic the manager encourages window visits and face timing to allow the contact between the families
to continue as this is vital right now. Can honestly say I can walk away from the home knowing my loved one is looked after to a very high standard. Deserve all the praise in the world. Honestly silent heroes. Thank you so much.

My husband's auntie has been a resident at Clough House since February, the staff and management team are truly amazing. All the residents are happy and well looked after, there is always a good variety of activities through-out the day, 7 days a week. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking
for long or short term care, the home has a lovely and inviting atmosphere with excellent staff who always meet and greet visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner. Thank you.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and management of Clough House for all their excellent care they gave my friend while he stayed at the home which was for 3ys.
Sadly he passed away in February 2018. He was always happy and content to stay at the house which says a lot. I found

For the three years our resident lived at Clough House he was cared for as if he'd been living with family. The staff are amazing - caring, kind, approachable, friendly, understanding. They treat each resident as an individual, tailor the care plans to individual's needs and cope with idiosyncracies
amazingly well! The turnover of staff is negligible, which indicates a well-run place.
I cannot recommend Clough House highly enough- it is a 'home from home'

We called at Clough House to enquire about the possibility of my mother-in-law coming into residential care, the warden welcomed us and showed us around. She answered all our questions and put my mother-in-law at ease. The staff were all very friendly and pleasant.
