My husband and I looked after my Mum for 10 Years. She has Alzheimer's, so placing her in a Care Home was not an easy decision. But we couldn't be happier with the staff, management and care that my Mum receives. Stanley Lodge stands in wonderful grounds with lots of different wildlife scampering around including squirrels, birds and even the occasional deer. Stanley Lodge isn't new or posh, but it is clean and hygienic. The residents are cheerful and content and well cared for with love and devotion by the staff and management. The food is tasty and all needs are catered for, help is always on hand. A variety of activities happen every afternoon, anything from knitting to throwing a balloon around to each other, which causes no end of hilarity and amusement. Visitors are always made very welcome and there are events that you are welcome to join in with. The cakes are always delicious. There is always a friendly and family atmosphere at Stanley Lodge. I highly recommend Stanley Lodge.
Mum has just had her 101st birthday. She has been in Stanley Lodge for 4 years. Her extended life and good health is no doubt down to the excellent care of the staff at the home. As a family, we have nothing but praise for the care mum has received. To Diane (manager) and all the staff we say thank you.
Excellent care, needs fully catered for, very clean, pleasant room overlooking the garden. All staff are hard working, friendly, and very welcoming to all visitors. Meals are well prepared, well presented and covered all dietary requirements.
What an Amazing place - caring, compassionate, and incredibly attentive.
Mum is looked after so well by the fantastic staff who go above and beyond. It's like a home from home and Mum is very happy there. We are all very grateful for the care Mum receives.
My mother has lived at Stanley Lodge since March 2024, and she is very happy to be there.
The manager and all the staff at Stanley Lodge work flat out to provide fantastic care for my mother, and all of the ladies and gentlemen who live there with her.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Stanley Lodge to any families who are in need of a loving, compassionate home for their loved ones.
Activities were there to participate in and seasonal themes and special events were celebrated. Visiting was never a problem and we were made to feel welcome every time. All in all a positive experience, she felt like one of the family in a very homely environment.
The care is excellent and the staff are really kind and helpful. My mother-in-law has said the staff are really kind to her too.
It feels like being in your own home as the manager and all the staff are really flexible and try to accommodate any requests and deal with any concerns. We can visit when we want and at any time.
The staff are quick to request help with any medical problems and will organise GP/district nurse/hospital support when needed
I work in the NHS and have seen lots of care homes. This truly is a lovely home and delivers great care. It is what I hope will be there for me when it is my time to have more care.
My mum's room is simply wonderful. She has plenty of space and a lovely view over the countryside to the sea. My mum can join the other residents when she wants and can have meals in her own room if she feels like it. Everything is done to make her feel at home, and most of all we know she is safe and happy.
Not a lot to say, the ratings say it all. The home, its settings and the staff and management are very friendly, caring and considerate to the residents and visitors alike. It's a joy to visit.
My mother spent the last nine months of her life at Stanley Lodge. She was suffering from increasingly challenging Dementia. The care she received at Stanley Lodge was truly exemplary. She was welcomed as a family member and, after many years of living a life that had been very solitary, came quickly to enjoy the warmth and kindness of the community. The team were able to deal with the many complex issues my mother presented - including eating, comfort, medication, hygiene, mobility and hospital visits - with great diligence and dignity, and always went so far above and beyond for her. My mother was as happy at Stanley Lodge as she could possibly have been at the end of her life. We will be forever grateful to the devoted manager and her outstanding team for their care and for the warm and hugely supportive relationships they built with me and my siblings. Thank you so much. Earth angels.
After a fall, my then 87-year-old mum went to live at Stanley Lodge in early summer of 2022. She had been struggling on in her own home with carers, as was her wish, for several years. When she arrived at Stanley, she wasn't in a good place, but the carers performed some kind of miracle. By September, she looked like a completely different person, so happy, bright, beautiful and looked after. They brought something wonderful back out in her, which we thought had been lost forever. Sadly she passed away in May 2023. The carers were incredibly kind and respectful over the weeks before Mum passed. We can't thank them enough for the love and care they gave to Mum. As the staff at Stanley will tell you, it's not posh but more like a family home full of love, joy and exceptional care.
Over the three years, my mother was a resident of Stanley Lodge, she was very well cared for by a pleasant and efficient staff. It felt like home from home, and I have nothing but praise for all the staff who treat my mother with kindness and dignity.
My mother went to live at Stanley Lodge just before Christmas 2019. From day one, the staff have been excellent and very, very caring. Stanley Lodge is home-from-home. Managed professionally by Mother and Daughter team. The meals were always tasty, so we were told by Mum. She had her 100th birthday and was treated like a queen. They are like on big family. We cannot praise them all enough.
This is more like a family home than a care home. The staff are always at hand whenever you need them. The rooms are always clean, and the beds are changed every week. The meals are good and varied and always plenty to eat. We have a variety of activities and entertainment, and yes, it is value for money.
Stanley Lodge is a mixed residential care home situated in a rural location with easy access to major access roads. Entry to the home is excellently monitored, and visiting is a pleasurable experience. The staff are warm and friendly both to clients and visitors, and you are made most welcome. There are varied rooms available, and the clients are well looked after. The home requires modernisation and updating. It's not cheap, but you can feel reassured that loved ones are being cared for in a professional manner. An excellent manager is in charge.
My mother has been a resident at Stanley Lodge Residential Home for almost two years. She is 91 and enjoys the day to day contact/relationship with all of the staff and has no complaints. They are always willing to help without hesitation. She feels safe and happy there. I think this home is well run under the direction of the care home manager.
Excellent care, good food, friendly staff, enjoyable activities, lots to do.
This care home is excellent and so is the staff. They really look after them well, they sit with them, have a game of bingo and all sorts. The staff really make them feel at home, they love it and feel safe.
My mother has been a resident at Stanley Lodge Residential Home for two years. She is 99 years old, is happy, very well looked after and cared for.
Excellent place to stay with very caring staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum loves this food and she is very comfortable there. Mum doesn't join in the activities but there is always something going on.
