My dad was here for 4 weeks respite. Nothing but praise for all staff for their kindness and friendliness, always open to listening and helping. Great choice of activities to join in. Dad decided to return home but we were very happy with the standard of rooms, cleanliness and facilities.

Our family is incredibly grateful for the care and kindness shown to my mum at Sandrock House
Care Home. Moving Mum into a care home was a difficult decision, but the team here made the experience so reassuring for all of us.
The staff are wonderful - every single carer is kind, patient, and treats residents with real warmth and respect. It's clear they genuinely care about the people who live there, and that means so much to families like ours.
My mum especially enjoys the trips out, the games, and the activities that are organised. It's lovely to see her staying active, social, and smiling. The team make such an effort to keep residents engaged and happy, and it really shows.

Knowing that my mum is surrounded by such caring staff and a positive atmosphere gives our whole family great peace of mind. We feel very lucky that she is at Sandrock House and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a caring and supportive home for their loved one.

Overall Experience

My mother required 24 hour care in Jan 2025. Initially she was quite independent but her health significantly and rapidly deteriorated in the last 6 months and she passed away 24/2/26 throughout her care she was treated with respect and dignity. Staff supported my family and we felt heard and involved. Staff we always kind, encouraging and made my mums last year of her life enjoyable. We are deeply sad we lost our mum but how she was cared for has helped us so much to grieve positively for the staff were so supportive and loving- we look back on the last year with joy and memories they helped to create and treasure.

Although I thought it was too soon, my sister decided she wanted to go into a care home, after looking at several and trying two others for respite she decided that Sandbrook House was the one for her. After 14 months she is still very happy there and has never regretted her decision. Everything about the home is to her liking. The friendly and helpful staff, the comfortable and well furnished bedrooms, lounges and dining areas. The variety of activities available, the accessible gardens and the location, making it first for visitors. Families are kept well informed through emails and social media and the weekly activities schedule is always circulated.

Overall Experience

My sister-in-law experienced a culture shock in moving quite suddenly from her home in Scotland to Sandrock House. However, the management and staff at the home made her feel very welcome from the outset. Since she arrived nearly a year ago, she has found everyone there unfailingly helpful, friendly and supportive . As a family we could not contemplate my sister-in-law being taken into care over 250 miles away with no relatives close enough to be able to visit on a regular basis. We are very satisfied that we made the right choice in selecting Sandrock, and are happy that we are able to see her regularly as she completes her adjustment to her new life in a clean, comfortable and worry free home.

Overall Experience

My mother is a resident at Sandrock & I am delighted with the quality care and environment provided. Her bedroom, with patio doors onto the garden & ensuite wet room, provides a comfortable & peaceful space for her to relax. Cleanliness is a priority & her room & communal areas are cleaned regularly providing a fresh & pleasant atmosphere. The staff combine professionalism with care & warmth, creating a fun environment for residents. There is an array of daily activities, including crafting, exercise sessions, dancing, singing & gardening. Mum had become very isolated & lonely at home, these activities help her stay active and stimulated. Sandrock also organises trips to local cafes, community groups & amenities, providing a great way for Mum to stay connected & a change of scenery. The food is nutritious & thoughtfully prepared, catering to health & dietary needs. Overall, Sandrock has been an excellent choice for Mum & provides peace of mind for the family.

My father has been a resident at Sandrock House Care Home for over two years now, and our experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The staff are incredibly helpful, always treating residents with kindness, respect, and genuine care. Communication is excellent, and any concerns or queries are quickly addressed - the manager is approachable and easy to speak with, which provides real peace of mind.
One of the real highlights is the activities program. With two dedicated activity coordinators, there's always a full and varied weekly schedule - from engaging in-house activities to enjoyable days out. These opportunities really make a difference in my father's quality of life and overall happiness.

I'm very grateful to everyone at Sandrock House for the support they've provided, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to other families looking for a safe and caring environment for their loved one

I have observed such wonderful and genuine care for my mum and all of the residents, with every interaction I have witnessed, from the management to the kitchen staff and cleaners - every single member of staff shows genuine affection for the residents. The carers go above and beyond to make sure that everyone is safe and cared for and feels genuinely valued. There is also much laughter.

Excellent reception when visiting and immediate attention to detail about potential needs of a difficult patient. Combined with impressive enquiry call before visit Sandrock became a clear favourite.

Too early to judge on mother's views and behaviour but she will be a challenge. I think the home is up for it and she will benefit.

My dear 92 yr old mother with stage 5/6 Alzheimer's unfortunately had to go into a "emergency respite" for a few weeks, the care home she was temporarily admitted to cared for her well, but it just didn't meet all the tick boxes we wanted for our very much loved mum & nana, after several weeks of looking around care homes my daughter in Cambridgeshire found Sandrock House care home, Doncaster ( where my mum lived) we made an appointment & was pleasantly greeted by the home manager & the assistant manager, within half hour of them informing us of the day to day routine of Sandrock & the care they deliver was a no brainer for us, we was confident this home ticked all the boxes, especially the sound of the tentative care they deliver to their residents & this was even before looking around the home.

Having looked around the beautiful well maintained home & gardens we was so thrilled & reassured we had made the right decision.

Fantastic! I can't rate Sandrock House enough . The staff are amazing , so caring , and considerate towards my mums needs, always very friendly and have lovely friendly , happy chats with the residents .

My mum felt very scared at home and she now feels safe and secure , which's a huge relief for me . My mums room is so lovely , with patio doors on to the garden , Its spotless and always smells fresh . The lounge areas are also always spotless , with staff always at hand . They have activity coordinators too , with loads of activities to do , on a daily basis , which is also great for my piece of mind . As a daughter you never want to have to put your parents in a home , but I'm so glad we found sandrock for her . It's like home from home .

Sandrock has some excellent staff and facilities for those in need of care.
Dad has been there for 5 years now and the early stages of dementia are becoming visible.
The fact that the staff have mainly remained constant and continue to provide a high level of care and support is truly remarkable and in my view has helped dad in these complex and changing times.
The staff have become part of the extended family offering quality help and care.
The support for me (as next of kin) and the family has been great especially in keeping me / us informed of when things have been difficult for Dad or involved other healthcare services.
During the COVID period which was difficult for all but was even more complicated for me as I lived abroad the care home team without breaching government guidelines were extremely supportive when I was able to visit.

That trust plus the building of a healthy relationship for both me and dad has been the bedrock of a continuing relationship. Thank you

My mum has been in Sandrock houe for over 2 years now and she likes it very much. She is getting more muddled and can be difficult. The staff are really good with her and if I ask them to do anything for her they are more than obliging. The family would not want her to be anywhere else.

Her room is a decent size on the ground floor and she has French doors out Into to the garden. She can out her own plants in the garden, which is lovely. She has her own bird feeder, which the family keep topped up, as she enjoys watching the birds (and squirrels).

My Mother had been in the hospital for some 10 days prior to moving into Sandrock, and the day that she arrived still with health issues the staff just could not do enough for her. Everything that she wanted was provided with a beautiful room en-suite, and her own dedicated Senior Carer and Assistant.

It was unfortunate that my mother's health issues meant that she had to return to hospital where she, unfortunately, passed away on 28th September. I would just like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Sandrock for their professionalism and dedication to my mother's wellbeing whilst she was in their care.
