The overall experience of Eastwood House has been a good one. I was not looking forward to come to a care home, but on reflection, it has all been positive. I have been looked after very well and cannot fault the whole experience. All staff and management can't do enough for myself. I take it all people look at it differently, but myself would not change it now. All in all, recommended!!

Thankyou so much Howard this is appreciated by all staff to recognise their hard work. We are so happy you have settled in well to our little community which we appreciate hasn't been an easy move for you.

I couldn't have wished for a better place for my Nan to spend the last few years of her life. Whenever I visited her she always looked very well cared for. Staff here are incredibly professional and friendly and I could tell that they genuinely care about the residents.
When I visited Nan in her final days staff also took the time to check in with me and ask if I needed anything, which at such a difficult time means so much.

I would absolutely recommend this care home to anyone looking for care for their relative, they do a truly amazing job.

I have found the staff at Eastwood House to be utterly professional in all aspects of my stepfather's care. It is good to know he is in good hands in his twilight years and gives us as a family peace of mind knowing all his needs are taken care of. We are kept informed of anything that occurs outside of our visits. The staff really care for these people as friends and not as the "box" tick of "service user".

Since mum has been at Eastwood House, I have been impressed with the care that has been provided. All the staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful, and nothing is too much trouble for them when it comes to looking after mum. They have also made me feel very welcome when I visit on a daily basis and this means a lot to me also. I feel content knowing that mum is here and she is receiving excellent care from a wonderful bunch of staff. Thank you, everyone!

Eastwood House have been good and kind to my husband and to my auntie who was also here for three and a half years but sadly passed away last year. My husband has settled here. They look after him and attend to his needs. The staff are also very kind and caring to family of residents overall. I am very pleased with the work they do, and the care that they give.

My mum has been a resident of Eastwood for 3 years and the home is warm welcoming and caring. The staff are compassionate and dedicated to the well being of the residents. I believe with improved staffing levels this would help during busy times as staff do sometimes seem steached thin. Overall I am pleased with the care my mum receives.

This is our second review. We visited at Christmas and were so impressed that when we needed respite for a couple of weeks Eastwood House was our first choice. Everyone is so kind, caring and helpful. The home is spotlessly clean and smells fresh. All the residents are well-presented and look very happy in their surroundings. The meals and drinks were plentiful and tasty. The staff are great and clearly enjoy their jobs, going about their duties with a smile and nothing is too much trouble. Everyone is treated with respect. If ever we need to return we wouldn’t hesitate.

I have visited Eastwood House quite a few times to visit a friend. It is a very homely place, and the staff are friendly and willing to help with anything. On one of my visits, some residents were having their nails cut and painted, which they seemed to be enjoying. The home is clean, and they have a lovely little room where I once sat with my friend; this gave us privacy, but we could have sat anywhere we wanted. I have always been offered tea or coffee on my visits which made me feel very welcome. I would highly recommend Eastwood House.

I have a friend at Eastwood House. When I made my visit this week I found she was really happy. She showed me around her room and she is happy with her view I found the staff kind and helpful I wore PPE on my visit and the staff explained this fully on my visit. I had the chance to see other residents watching TV and saw some in the garden. I sat and had a drink in the conservatory and it was a lovely room. Staff came to check we were ok which I thought was nice.

I found a welcoming and lovely place for my friend.

Review from G C (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 February 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

The home is dirty. It is poorly run with both seniors and management more interested in smoking than the residents. The residents spend all day just sat in the lounge with no stimulation whatsoever. Infection control is non-existent with equipment being shared without cleaning even when contaminated with faeces. Laundry is not managed with even underwear going into the wrong rooms. Residents are making sandwiches in the conservatory, not hygienic, at 10 am which are for tea time, unappetising. The toilet is in a wardrobe! and the TV has no socket to plug in plus no ariel or remote! The food is very poor unless you like chips and is more like what you feed to children rather than elderly people. Overall the home is very poor.
