The staff go above and beyond to look after and care for the residents and families. The meals are 10 out of 10. The manager is amazing and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is looked after. My grandma was comfortable, clean, well-fed and was treated with dignity and respect all the way through
and so was the family. It's a care home with a big heart.

My mother-in-law is looked after 100% by the carers. The manager is lovely. They have become like family to us.
The carers go out of their way for the residents.
The home is spotless. Meals are really good.

The home is a lovely caring place. My mum-in-law was very well looked after. She enjoyed the activities and the staff were great in getting Mum to join in and interact with them and other residents.
Mum gained weight as she was getting regular good meals that she enjoyed. She was always very well
hydrated with drinks of juice or cups of tea and biscuits throughout the day.
I would highly recommend Haven Lodge to anyone looking for either respite or long-term care for an elderly relative.

I had been to several care homes before deciding on Haven Lodge. There were no immediate smells on entering, the staff were welcoming and happy to show you around. I spoke to the residents who we're all happy. The decor and furniture is a little mismatched but the food and care are spot on and that's
the most important thing.

My mum has been a resident of Haven Lodge for over 18 months now, and she is always clean and happy, singing along and getting involved. We were allowed to decorate her rooms, and we get regular reviews. The manager always keeps in touch. The staff are caring and kind. The best choice for our mum.
Thank
you to you all.

My dad has been a resident for the past 18 months. The Manager and staff are brilliant, always approachable and we are like one big happy family. My dad is treat with the care and dignity he deserves, I can see he is happy and anyone can see he is well cared for. I have personally seen their care and
can only say they are like angels to my dad. I have complete peace of mind and would highly recommend this home.

The home was very clean and smelled fresh. The staff are very good and looked after my dad. I will definitely use Haven Lodge again for respite care. The only drawback compared to other homes, there isn't a personal toilet in the room. This didn't bother my dad though.

I was a carer for the council for over 30 years and I've seen many care homes and I've come across many carers. Haven Lodge isn't the most modern of homes but it makes up for that, it's very, very clean. The staff are wonderful. It's friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them. Every
carer supports each other, it's a lovely place. I know my friend is happy knowing her uncle is being cared for.

My mum has been resident at Haven Lodge for 13 months.
After a few teething problems she seems very happy.
She is warm, clean and well fed.
She is medicated appropriately and the staff are friendly and approachable but professional.

Not marked Food and Drink below owing to not being present when food is served. Activities - we are not there visiting whilst any activities are taking place, other than Bingo and TV. Safety/Security - Just a question mark on main entrance door e.g. slight looseness when locked. Value for Money - We
have no part in payment obligations.

Feel awkward when there are a few visitors at the same time owing to bringing chairs into the lounge from other rooms and being cramped up.

As always the home was clean and most important it smelt clean and fresh. The staff were attentive, even though some were detailed for bathing duties which must be extremely time consuming. My sister had just been showered (at 3:15pm) tea/biscuits served 10 minutes later to residents and to us. Her
nails are always beautifully manicured and polished. I bought some raffle tickets from the hard working organiser and have happily supported her good works with donations whenever I can, she has such a great presence and indomitable spirit and optimism. All the staff members and management are approachable and give straight answers. I am 81 years of age and visit every three weeks along with my husband.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.894)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.894) out of 10 for Haven Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.894 for Haven Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (44 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 47 Ratings = 4.894
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Haven Lodge is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.4 = 0.625
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
