Overall Experience
I highly recommend Sutton Village Care. The care they gave my friend was wonderful. I moved my friend from another Care Home to Sutton Village Care Home. He was a resident in the other Care Home but Sutton Village Care Home was his home. We were encouraged to bring and decorate his room with his possessions, which is so important. He suddenly had choices e.g. to have a bit more of a sleep-in if he wanted, which felt huge to me.
The owner and staff are great. They not only talk to residents with respect and dignity but also go out of their way to show kindness to the residents.

The house internally is lovely and well-maintained. The gardens offer a lovely space for residents to enjoy being outside. My friend enjoyed their food. It was very important for me to see a desk where staff could sit and be with the residents in the main living area. Visitors are provided with private space to see their loved ones when visiting ensuring quality time.

My father was a resident in the care home for four years. I was initially faced with the option of two care homes that could provide care for him. Not living in Hull for many years I went with my gut instinct. How lucky I was. The care and kindness shown to my father and indeed us as a family were second to none. In addition, the final weeks of his life were very difficult. Again the home stepped up to the mark.
Living miles away is always difficult for a relative but I had no worries as the staff were like his family.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Sutton Village.

My dad was in the care of Sutton Village for the last year of his life. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for their care and dedication. They treat him with all the dignity and respect a family would want for their loved one.

Overall Experience

This is a wonderful care home. My father was here from last November until his death in February 2023. Sutton Village had been providing meals-on-wheels to my parents since the start of the pandemic, so we already knew many of the staff, the manager and the owner. This gave us confidence from the day of his arrival that my father was in safe hands, and we had complete confidence that he would receive the best care. Everyone there is friendly, good-humoured, knowledgeable, conscientious and attentive, and they know how to make residents feel part of a large family where all their needs are served. Communication with us was regular and first class, and it’s clear that care staff have a very good working relationship with local GPs and hospital clinicians. We’ll always be grateful for the love and care that the staff gave to my dad, and we will never forget it. We couldn’t have asked for more.

Overall Experience
Mum had been in the home for seven years before she passed, which is a testament to the care and kindness she received. In that time, there were very few staff changes, especially among the senior carers (always a good sign), and the family have been happy with the way Mum has been cared for.
Mum had a couple of spells in the hospital during this time and always seemed to pick up on returning to the home due to their care.
Mum seemed to be content in the home, had a pleasant room, and on the whole, enjoyed the food, especially the puddings and custard. She enjoyed the musical singalongs and parties.

The family are happy to recommend the home.

Overall Experience
Sutton Village Care Home was Dad's home for the final chapter of his life.
Dad, unfortunately, had many spells in hospital but couldn't wait to get back to Sutton and his "home comforts". Sutton Village Care Home encouraged us to make Dad’s room homely and familiar to him, which enabled Dad to settle instantly in his new environment.
The care and compassion from the staff at Sutton Village Care Home were above and beyond. The lovely way all staff spoke with Dad, the tender touch they gave him, and the constant strive to make sure Dad was happy and comfortable was all we hoped for and more.
To see Dad engage so positively with staff members is something we four children will always be grateful for.
The experience was so positive that if we were to have the time over, we would make Sutton Village Care Home, dad's final home much sooner.

Dad’s final chapter of life was all the richer for the positive experience and the wonderful care and attention he received here. Thank you!
