We are so pleased we chose The Maltings for my mother in law, we have seen here smile for the first time in a long while. The care she is receiving is outstanding, the staff are attentive and provide personal tailored care to meet her requirements. We have been made to feel very welcome by all members
of staff and everything we have asked for the management team have gone out of their way to provide.

We are so pleased we moved mum to The Maltings. The staff understand each person is unique. They allow residents to make their own decisions to develop as much independence as possible. We always feel welcome when we arrive, and the care-workers are very attentive. Mum is the happiest she has been
since going into care.

Moving my mum to The Maltings is the best decision I could have made. She transferred from a previous facility where she had become withdrawn, depressed and unsafe.
We were incredibly anxious about the move, but the moment we visited the home and spoke with Beverley, Jo and Rob, we felt an immediate
sense of warmth and genuine care.
The building itself is beautiful, featuring wonderful amenities like a cinema and a hair and nail salon.
However, the true difference is the staff. After just six weeks here, I have my mum back. Her confidence has returned, she is smiling again, and she loves chatting over a warm drink and delicious homemade cake.
The team truly embodies their motto, "Kindness lives here." I see them actively supporting and helping each other to ensure the residents receive the very best care.
My mum is safe, happy, and thriving. I fully recommend The Maltings to any family looking for exceptional care.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I had previously arranged a respite stay for my wife and been so impressed by the standard of care, that it was an easy decision to move Mum from another home where standards have been adversely affected following a takeover.
Every member of the staff at The Maltings impress with their level of care
and compassion for their residents. Together they have made such a positive difference to the way Mum is looked after, and at 98 she deserves it.
By way of examples: after 2 weeks of their care the moisture lesion that was present on arrival was assessed by the District Nurse to be markedly improved from earlier assessments. Also the dining staff have come up with an innovative method of Mum eating her meals resulting in consistent and improved nourishment.
Equipment required to make her more comfortable was promptly provided and the level of communication between the home and our family has been outstanding.
Indeed OUTSTANDING is how I'd summarise our experience so far.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.500)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.500) out of 10 for The Maltings is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for The Maltings is calculated as follows: ( (59 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 59 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Maltings is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 22 registered maximum number of service users is 4.4, which has been reached with 5 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
