I have nothing but very positive thoughts and good reactions to everything I have encountered on this new chapter for my Mums care. The staff have been amazing and this is from the carers the hostess on Mums floor and the admin staff downstairs who are always extremely helpful. I also appreciate all
the entertainment that is put on for the residents.

My mum came to the care home after living on her own aged 93. From the first home visit I was amazed at the care they offered and wanted to know her likes and dislikes down to how she liked her tea - milk, sugar etc.
Once she was in the staff made her feel welcome and safe which ment so much to me
knowing she was in good hand nothing is too much for the staff. Can't praise them enough.

My Father was a resident in Bridge House for 1 year and 10 months. He was well cared for and very comfortable. Bridge House was perfect for us because of the caring and considerate staff. They were absolutally wonderfully and gave so much compassion and dignity to my Dad and other residence.
Also the
cleanliness of the rooms and facilities, always clean, always smelling like it had just been spring cleaned.
My Mum had been in the same carehome a year before. She was transfered there from another care home and arrived not able to walk, some what messy and within a week or so she had been encouraged to walk and was being showered or washed each day, always with dignity and compassion. I cannot thank the staff enough, from managers, to carers, to cooks and cleaners for their hard work and dedication. You do not always get the appreciation from these somewhat confused residence but their families are full of gratitude for the work you do. Thank you.
Reply from Patricia Lavery, Registered Manager at Bridge House Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review of Bridge House and the care your Mum and Dad received. Your words mean a great deal to the whole team and will be shared with staff across all departments. It is wonderful to hear that your Dad felt well cared for and comfortable during his 1 year and 10 months at Bridge House, and that the home felt like the right place for your family. Hearing that staff showed compassion and dignity to both your Dad and other residents really reflects the values the team work hard to uphold every day. Thank you also for noting the cleanliness and fresh feel of the rooms and facilities, which is a key part of helping residents and families feel relaxed and at home. The housekeeping team will be especially pleased to know their work made such a positive impression.

Staff are always happy and friendly. If we have any questions or queries nothing is too much trouble, which has made the process of getting my grandma situated at Bridge House a lot easier that we thought it would be. It's not been an easy transition for my grandma but it has been made a little less
stressful by the wonderful facilities and care that all the staff members show.
Reply from Patricia Lavery, Registered Manager at Bridge House Care HomeThank you so much for your lovely feedback and for taking the time to share your experience. It means a great deal to everyone at Bridge House to know that the team has helped make a difficult transition a little easier for your grandma and your family. We know how emotional and uncertain it can feel when a loved one moves into a care home, so hearing that staff have been happy, friendly and always on hand to answer questions is incredibly reassuring. The team work very hard to provide supportive care and a welcoming environment, so your comments about the wonderful facilities and the care shown to your grandma will be shared with them and very much appreciated.

Whitby Court Care home is the best home in Whitby. The staff are absolutely amazing, engaging activities are planned for service users, the home is kept clean and tidy with a pleasant smell that reflects on the care service users are receiving. The staff were so kind to my late Grandpa who stayed both
upstairs and downstairs at the home, every staff member knew my name after one meeting and went out of their way for me and my family members on several occasions. The care my Grandpa recieved was exemplary. Absolutely amazing.

Our Dad was Bridge House until sadly he passed away in June 2019
So, when it became clear in March 2020 that Mum could no longer live at home on her own, we were so pleased that she was able to move into Bridge House
Whilst she has been at Bridge House, Mum has always been treated with kindness
and respect by the wonderful, helpful and friendly staff - nothing is too much trouble for them.
The attention to detail at Bridge House is amazing, it looks and feels like a five star hotel, Mum's bedroom is always kept spotless and feels homely, with beautiful modern furnishings - however, it is the caring staff that makes this such a lovely place to stay.
We can visit at anytime and are always made very welcome
For Mums 90th the home organised a little party for Mum, and then with the help of Tracy, Chloe and other members of the team we had another get together that weekend in the "pub" for family members and friends which was very special - I would definitely recommend Bridge House
Reply from Patricia Lavery, Registered Manager at Bridge House Care HomeThank you so much for your thoughtful message and for sharing your family's experience with us. It was a privilege to care for both your Dad and your Mum, and we're truly touched by your kind words about our team. We're so pleased that you felt supported and that your Mum's 90th birthday celebrations were special - occasions like that mean a great deal to us too. Thank you again for your lovely recommendation and for being part of the Bridge House family. I will pass these kinds words on to the staff team

My mother has been in the care of the home for nearly 6 years and throughout that time the care she has received has been fantastic.
My mother went into the home in March 2020 and has received the very best care during her stay there. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at the home and everyone
really tries hard to make sure all the residents are well looked after. This even extended to holding a 90th birthday party for mum so we could all join her and celebrate the mile stone event.
I cant recommend Bride House enough they have been superb.

My father couldn't cope on his own anymore even with carers help. I spoke with the management and they offered Dad an immediate room which was a big relief for myself and my brothers. From the moment I stepped in to enquire about a room for Dad at Bridge House, I knew it was where I wanted him to be despite looking at other care homes and being nudged in other directions, it was the nearest thing to "home" as could be. The first member of staff I dealt with to the very last were
welcoming, caring and always made time to answer any queries. Dad was as happy as could be in his last year of life, he never lost his sparkle in his eyes, Dad had a short stay in hospital before he passed away at Bridge House in very caring surroundings; Dad and family were treat in dignified manner

From our first viewing, we knew Mum's needs would be catered for. From the maintenance staff, cleaners, ward sister to reception staff, nothing is too much trouble. They are all so polite and caring. They really know their jobs here! We left Mum in their capable hands with no doubt what so ever that
she would be safe and well looked after. They kept us informed continually about Mum's health changes.
Bridge House is a care home that other care homes need to take lessons from.

My Mum has been at Bridge House Care Home for a month moving there following a stay in hospital after a fall, It was a big decision to move care homes but one that I am glad we have made. The time spent by the staff getting to know my Mum and understanding her needs has been amazing. There is a lovely
atmosphere and genuine kindness. My Mum is enjoying the many activities. I feel very comfortable visiting and it is lovely to be able to sit in the communal areas with my Mum. It was my Mums birthday and we were able to visit as a family with her grand children and great grand children using the day room and the bar area making it a special occasion. The weekly coffee mornings are a good opportunity to have a chat and get to know the other relatives visiting residents. She has a lovely room and it is kept immaculate and clean. My Mum does not have the best appetite but is eating very well. Its a huge decision to have to move a relative into care but so grateful for Bridge House.

My Mother recently spent four weeks at Bridge House - initially for respite due to my impending holiday but with a view to staying permanently. After looking around at Bridge House I was happy for my Mum to go although she was a bit reluctant. I told her she would be well looked after and cared for.
However, what I was shown was not what she got and on our return from holiday, I was horrified by what I saw. There was a total lack of care and attention and my Mum was deteriorating rapidly. We got her out as soon as we could. Due to her traumatic time at Bridge House it took her a while to settle at her new Care Home but she is now doing really well and I feel I have got my Mum back
again.
