Ben is the Registered Manager for Newgrove House. He began his journey working in care when he took a weekend kitchen assistant role in a care home. From there, he progressed to a care assistant role and then on to a senior position.
Ben took his first management role as a Deputy Manager and within two years, he was offered a position as a Registered Manager here at Newgrove House.
Ben stepped back from the manager role for 12 months due to family commitments. He took up the post again in February 2023.
Newgrove House has grown immensely since Ben took the post. Ben ensures mutual respect between him and his team. His management style is firm but fair.
Ben has a large family and on his off duty, he cares for his children.
Amanda our longest-serving Team Leader. She is a familiar face and has established robust professional relationships with professionals and relatives over the years.
Elaine is one of our two cooks at Newgrove. She has a wealth of experience that she gained cooking traditional meals for her family before coming to Newgrove. Elaine cooks homemade meals each day and bakes cakes, scones, tarts and biscuits for our residents to enjoy.
Lisa is one of our Care Assistants. She has a wealth of experience in adult social care. She has experience working in nursing homes as a Nursing Auxiliary and in residential homes in caring roles.
June is our longest serving member of staff. She is passionate about Newgrove and cleans to a meticulous standard. June commands the highest level of hygiene in the Home and takes extreme pride in her work.
Bee joined the Newgrove family after a long and successful career as a Nurse in Thailand. Bee worked as a Clinical Lead and implemented a clinical framework for the Hospital.
Bee has excellent knowledge and practice of health and social care. She is an absolute asset to the Home.
Lynn came to us following a career as a Registered Nurse.
She had taken early retirement but missed working in care.
Lynn works with the Domestic Team to ensure the Homestays are clean and tidy. She will often be found dusting high-to-reach areas with her duster!
Liam came to us as a Care Assistant and has completed training and supervision to progress to a Team Leader role. Liam previously worked in North Yorkshire as a Care Assistant before settling in North East Lincolnshire.
Jo returned to Newgrove House in 2022 after previously leaving to take up a post as a Health Care Assistant in the Hospital. She is kind and considerate and will often be found spending time with residents who may be anxious or upset.
She has many years of experience and supports the management team by leading shifts when needed.
Will came to us in 2021 as a care assistant during the term holidays whilst studying at University. Will graduate in 2023 with 2:1 BSc Honours in Biomedical Genetics! Will is a friendly face and he can always be relied upon to ensure our residents are safe and happy. Will has recently moved to Newcastle to complete his Masters Degree in Adult Nursing. Will is continuing his employment as a Bank Team Leader and will be seen around the Home at various times throughout the year.
Tessa has years of experience under her belt. She has worked in adult social care for all of her adult life. Tessa can be counted on to provide guidance and mentoring for new members of staff. She is fully committed to her role and the residents feel safe and nurtured under her care.
Becky is one of our two Cooks at Newgrove House. She learned to cook from a young age by watching her mother prepare and make traditional meals. Becky always ensures that our residents are offered lots of food and snacks. Becky grew up in the local area and always wanted to work at Newgrove from a young age. She eventually started and has been with us ever since!
Vanessa began her career as a registered nurse and later became a full-time mother for her children. Once her children had grown up, Vanessa began her career as a carer. She has worked in various caring jobs and now works with the Newgrove team.
Tas has worked for the company for many years over various sites but chose to settle at Newgrove House. She works a variety of shifts including days, nights and kitchen shifts. Tas can often be found dancing with residents in the lounge or giving hand massages.
Linda has worked in social and health care for many years.
She works nights and has a calming and soothing approach to holistic care. Linda is fully competent in her care abilities and she compassionately demonstrates this.
Sam came to Newgrove as a care assistant and now works as one of our night Team Leaders. She previously worked as a carer in the community before moving into residential care. Sam works well with her team on nights and is well thought of by her team members.
Caroline joined our team in the Spring of 2023. Caroline lives between her home in Spain and in the UK. She is bubbly and always has a smile on her face. She is a fully qualified hairdresser and has many years of experience working in Salons in the local area.
Sophia joined Newgrove in 2022 as a part-time weekend carer while studying at college. When her studies finished, she became a full-time member of the team. Sophia works both days and nights.
Hannah has worked both days and nights at Newgrove House. She is a trained Team Leader and supports the Home by leading shifts when needed. Hannah previously worked in restaurants before deciding to work in care.
Tesmi joined the Newgrove team in the Autumn of 2023 after relocating from India. Whilst in India, she worked as a qualified Social Worker. Tesmi has settled in well and is a valued member of our team.
Sam joined us in 2023 as part of our night team and now works predominantly weekend days. She has worked in adult social care for many years.
Ana came to Newgrove as a care assistant following working in the hospitality industry. She has previous experience working in nursing homes in her home country, Portugal.
Ana works nights, however, will occasionally work a day shift to support the team!
Marcus joined our team in 2023. He had previously completed a Health and Social Care qualification in anticipation of working in care. Marcus works full-time at night.
Vicki is our Home Administrator. She has previously worked in finance roles in different settings from The Church of England and local Cash and Carry businesses. Vicki has also worked for her family property business. She has her Business Admin Levels 2 and 3.
Dawn is our resident hairdresser. She has worked in care homes as a hairdresser for over 30 years. Dawn visits every Tuesday and has her own equipped salon annexe in our bottom lounge. Dawn has ample experience in attending to the hair of those living with Dementia and has a gentle approach.
Marti joined Newgrove in early 2024. She works as a carer every weekend. Marti has previous experience of working in care homes.
Ian came out of early retirement to join the Newgrove Team.
He previously worked for 40-plus years at Asda. Ian previously held the position of Meat Manager at Asda and also worked many years in the bakery.
Maxine wanted to try care work for a while before she took the next step and offered herself a work trial at Newgrove.
Soon after, she made the decision to transition into a full-time position.
Abida has worked for the company for many years and came over to join Newgrove as Team leader in 2023. Abida has a wealth of knowledge and has previously been a CQC Registered Manager.
Andy joined our team at Newgrove in 2024. He has worked in care for the past few years and was previously in the Armed Forces.
Amporn is one of our Kitchen Assistants. She has worked in kitchens for many years. Amporn has cooked in a variety of settings including care homes, hotels and guest houses.
Kaj joined our care team on nights after working in childcare settings. He wanted a change of direction and has not looked back since.
Trish is one of our carers on day duty. Trish has always wanted to work in Adult Social Care and since commencing employment, it is like she has been here for years.
Lorraine joined our night team after previously working shifts for an agency. Lorraine has many years of caring experience which is evident in her practice.
Reece is one of our kitchen assistants. He will also cover Cook duties when needed to support the Home. Before coming to us, Reece worked with people living with learning disabilities.
Eileen has worked at Newgrove House for many years as part of our housekeeping team. She previously worked as a Domestic Assistant in the Hospital for 10 years. Eileen lives in the local area and is a familiar face around the Home.
Di joined us after coming out of retirement. She previously worked in food production. Di became familiar with the Home after visiting a few times and wished to become part of the team.
Emma previously worked at Newgrove before leaving for training and development. Emma returned and is one of our Night Team Leaders. Emma is very passionate about good care and she is our Dignity Champion. Emma is very proactive and she ensures the home runs well.
Ewelina is one of our day carers. She previously worked in domestic roles before coming to join us. Ewelina is hard working and approachable. Her gentle nature makes her the perfect addition to our team.
Lydia is our Activity Co-ordinator. she can be found wearing a burgundy tunic. Lydia enjoys arranging entertainment for our residents and facilitating activities. Lydia has quickly become part of our family and is an active part of the daily running of our home.
