Review of Bradley House Care Home from G M (Daughter of Resident) published on 14 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mum was in Bradley House for respite after a fall at home when she broke her pelvis. We had very little support from a different agency, the physio and other agencies. However, the staff at Bradley House were fantastic in getting her up and moving and making sure she was independent enough to come back home quickly, despite the lack of support from the other agency.
The staff really care about their residents and I felt mum was safe and looked after at all times, they are great at adapting their care to the residents individual needs.
I can't thank them enough for their care and support to get mum back on her feet again and home.

I also can't thank them enough for the support they gave me during what was an incredibly difficult and worrying time.

Reply from Tammy Dennis, Manager at Bradley House Care Home

Thank you very much for the positive comments I will ensure that the staff team receive your feedback, I hope mum is doing well.

Review of Holly House Care Home from David L (Son-in-law of Resident) published on 11 June 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My wife's mother arrived at Holly House on 21 May. We had visited the home the previous day and had met Annette, the Manager who made us feel welcome and at ease. She dealt with all the necessary administrative details in a very professional manner and showed us what would be my mother-in- law's room and then gave us a tour of the home. It's obvious that Annette is an experienced care practitioner and other staff members we came across were carrying out their roles in a "Person Centred Care" manner. The morning after admission, Annette 'phoned us to say the everything had gone smoothly.

Holly House may not have crystal chandeliers or thick Axminster carpets but what it DOES have is its residents best interests at the heart of everything and that's what GENUINE CARE is all about.

Can't believe how good this home is. Having experienced 2 previous care homes we were shocked how good new grove is.
Mum went in on emergency respite in April, then didn't want to come out. The staff are unbelievable, very caring always cheerful and greet us with a smile. All our questions are answered quickly and thoroughly.
We have visited on many occasions since beginning of April and it has never smelt.

Mum is always clean and presentable has her hair done regularly, has put on weight, and is genuinely happy.

Staff go above and beyond to make visitors feel welcome and nothing is ever too much trouble. My grandma has only positive comments to make about staff and the home in general.
Food is consistently lovely, varied & plentiful.
My gran would like to mention the way the meat is cooked is beautifully done, melts in your mouth!

All staff are professional & kind.

the care my mother in law received @ Bradley House was superb! all of the staff were pleasant, kind and very attentive.
at all times her care needs, where catered for.
the food was very good, as where the activities on offer, that she took part in.

I would without hesitation, if required use this establishment again. Also I would recommend it to others who find themselves in a similar situation.

Temple Croft has proven to be a warm & friendly home for our cousin who now requires 24hr care. The staff are very caring and supportive and there is always a "buzz" of activities keeping the residents happy and entertained.

We have found the manager and care staff to be helpful and approachable, always ready to advise and assist and the premises are always clean and well presented.

Review of Newgrove House Care Home from Vicky H (Daughter of Resident) published on 7 November 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
The care home has some serious safeguarding issues. My father has mixed dementia and Alzheimer's as well as being a type 1 diabetic. During his time at this 'care' home he was allowed to wonder from his room into other residents bedrooms, despite us warning he was a serious risk to others. On a number of occasions I rang as he has disconnected from his blood glucose monitor and they had no idea where he was or where his monitor was.
He was allowed to hypo on several occasions and his food intake was not a suitable or sufficient diet of hydration for a diabetic. The carers were nice but the team leaders have a serious attitude problem. The don't take serious concerns into account, communication between staff in the home is extremely poor.
Dad was allowed to sit in wet clothes for 48 hours and was not showered. Despite this the care home reported there were no concerns. We couldn't wait to get him out of here fast enough.

The home is dated, extremely dirty, and stained carpets bedding.

Reply from Ben Evardson, Registered Manager at Newgrove House Care Home

Your concerns about your father being left in wet clothes for 48 hours were unfounded when reported to the L/A due to evidence we gave them. When here, he was given a sensor which alerts staff if he would exit his room. Carers responded to this. Time between carers being alerted and responding,...

My mum Mo has been a resident in the home for over 2 years now and I can't Thank the staff highly enough for the way they look after her. She isn't the easiest of people to deal with and can be challenging but they ALWAYS give her care and respect. I wouldn't want her to be in any other care home , and make family visiting feel welcome .

My Nana came into Temple crofts care in May of this year. Since then she has become a completely different person. She's happy, has made lots of new friends and always gets involved in the activities. It's so lovely to see her regaining some of her life. She was very worried about entering a care home as were we but she has found a new found zest for life which is amazing to see. Absolutely the best thing to happen to her she now gets to socialise everyday and always has company which after living alone for so many years is just the best thing for her. The staff are all lovely, Lucy is a great activities co ordinator there's always something fun planned and I love seeing the updates on social media.
