My son came to live here recently and I am absolutely amazed at how he is gaining independence and confidence under the caring guidance of Eleanor (the manager) and the team of dedicated carers. Immediately I walked into Southfield, I was impressed by warm and welcoming feeling. The home itself is clean, modern, well equipped and extremely well organised. The residents are treated like a big family, but each is respected and supported, led by their individual needs, preferences and personalities. From the minute my son stepped through the doors, I knew he was in a safe place which was calm, peaceful and hopeful. He had been insular and anxious previously, leading to depression, but after a week he was walking to the shops and making his own choices. He is interacting with other residents, sitting with them to dine, and hoping to join in with activities. I feel positive that he is safe, supported and treated with compassion and kindness. Thank you so much, Eleanor and all the care team.
Thank you for your kind words, it will mean a lot to the team at Southfield House.
I am very pleased with the new manageress Helena, she is very engaging and has made a great different to Southfield House.
Thank you for the kind words about Eleanor, I'm sure she will be very grateful that you took the time to complete the review.
It is a real community. There are lots of activities that take place over the year and it's lovely to see how much effort goes into supporting the people who live here.
Southfield House is always clean, comfortable and feels like home for my mum. The staff always make is feel welcome and I can see the positive impact on my mum. She is more relaxed, engaged and content than she was before moving in and that means I everything to me. Residents are treated with kindness, patience and respect. They have a range of activities and organise occasional outings to keep mum engaged and social, it's lovely to see her smile and occasionally taking part.
Since coming to Southfield House I have been pleased with my new place to live and our manager has been great she has truly improved things here and is a remarkable lady we are really lucky to have her here and all the other staff are a great team too.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this review and for your kind words.
This is a great care home. The manager and her staff are fabulous. My son is very happy here. He feels safe, and his mental health is better than it's been for over 20 years. Thank you for taking such good care of him.
The food is very good, and the staff treat us well.
The food is very nice, and my room is nice.
I have lived in Southfield House for 22 years, and I have no complaints whatsoever, and there is always an open-door policy here, which I am always pleased about, and I am so pleased that I have had the help that I have had here as well. Recommend this place to anybody.
I like the staff; they always look after me.
My mum and I feel the door is always open for us to discuss any concerns and the care they provide is excellent.
The feeling of the home is like a big family and it's the happiest I've seen my mum for a long time.
A big thank you to the team for all your hard work, it means the world to us both.
Since her time at Southfield, the change in her happiness is lovely to see.
She feels happy, safe and they provide the care and support she needs to a high standard.
Fresh meals are cooked daily and a well-balanced diet is provided for her.
Thank you to everyone for your great and hard work
