Springhill Care Home

from J W (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My mother was a resident at Springhill for 5 years. Throughout her time there she was treated with dignity and respect. The care was exemplary. She made her room her home with some of her treasured possessions and she was very contented. The kitchen staff went above and beyond to cater for her fussy
diet. When she reached end of life; the palliative care she received was exceptional. Mum passed away very peacefully and I was fully supported throughout the process. I shall be forever grateful to Springhill.

Reply from Deborah Bennett, Manager at Springhill Care Home

It was an absolute pleasure meeting your mother and your family. Thank you for the lovely review.

Barons Park Nursing Home

from Joy G (Daughter of Resident) published on 23 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My father was a resident at Barons Park nursing home from August 2023 until March 2025. We had to find a respite bed as a matter of urgency and we were so lucky that the manager at Barons Park reached out to us immediately.
Dad always looked cared for - clean, shaven , hair combed and well dressed.
The food was lovely- freshly cooked by the catering team on site with lots of it throughout the day. The unit was always clean, tidy and odour-free.
Communication was exceptional - the management team were visible, we had very detailed updates about Dad's well being from the carers during our visits and were informed in a timely manner if there were any health concerns. The activities team provide a varied programme for the residents both within the home and further a field. We also found the social media page very useful.
The most striking aspect though was the care and compassion that was evident during our visits between the carers and residents - they truly do care for each individual.

Peaker Park Care Village

from S J (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

Mum had been to Peaker Park several times for brief stays whilst we were away and was always well cared for. She was very impressed with the food as she had various intolerances. In December it became apparent that she needed full time care and we were very lucky as, despite the home being almost
full, she could move in straight away. Mum's health improved significantly in Peaker Park with the care and understanding of the staff, and it was so comforting to us to know that we had made the right decision. Big thanks to the team who cared for Mum through her last days.
I would like to add that my late Mother in Law, who had Alzheimer's, was cared for in Peaker Park for 6 years. We were very happy with her care.

My experience of the nursing home from when my sister entered is that all the staff are extremely courteous, welcoming and very helpful and friendly. Extra attention is paid to resident's with lots of photos of friends and loved ones at special events over the year. The residents all appear to be treated
with great care and dignity.

The Old Rectory

from D H (Brother-in-law of Resident) published on 8 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

Since the appointment of the previous and current manager the home has improved considerably. There are more activities for the residents and the whole attitude of the staff has improved. A few flowers around has made a difference. More physical exercise would be good for all the residents such as walks
around the village. The resident does not give as much input.

Reply from Megan Stocks, Manager at The Old Rectory

Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to complete the review. Residents are encouraged with physical exercise through activities such as arm chair aerobics and dancercise. Now that the weather is improving residents will be accessing the community a lot more.

MY wife is happy here. She is being well cared for! I have lots of paper work ie contacts, tel nos to enable me to do the right things eg can I bring books, bring favourite items? How long do you expect her to be with this care home? Can she be given home breaks?

My son is a resident of The Manor House care home.
The staff are helpful and caring, my son is the most settled he has been in the last 10 years.
This is because of the care and help he receives from The Manor House.

My first experience of a nursing home and I have been really happy with my mothers care. The home is clean and bright, the staff are great and my mother is starting to know them. She is clean and well fed and cared for. They are happy to get her anything she asks for and she is starting to settle in
well.

Barons Park Nursing Home

My Dad has been at Barons Park care home for nearly 5 months now and has settled in really well. Placing my Dad into a care home wasn't an easy decision to make. But on reflection it has been the best thing for him. All the staff treat my Dad with respect and dignity and it really has a homely/family
feel to it. He genuinely seems happy there.
There are plenty of activities that residents can participate in if they choose to and you can tell that the residents happiness and wellbeing is number one priority for the staff.
Any matters relating to Dads condition are always communicated to me in a caring and professional way from either the nurses, carers or manager.
The home is clean and my Dad enjoys the food on offer. Overall very pleased.
