Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Mum-in-Law moved into the home earlier this year and has settled in very well. She enjoys the food and the wide range of activities on offer. There is a choice of rooms for her to sit in, including a large TV lounge and a quiet library room. She also has her own private en-suite room, which is very
comfortable. The staff are very caring, respectful and professional.

The Old Rectory

from K M (Son of Resident) published on 1 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
The Old Rectory at Stickney, Lincs, has been caring for my mother, for the better part of three years. It has been a tough time for as she slides further into dementia and a loss of mobility. Over the last 12 to 18 months, this care home has in my opinion, gone from average to very good care. The staff
are delightful, and seem to be far happier now, than they were a couple of years ago. The residents now have a wide range of activities to partake in, much more than previously. The fabric of the building and fitments, are steadily improved or renewed. The staff are always very polite and friendly to visitors, which really helps at times when visits are difficult. My mother is far happier than previously, and always praises the staff to us. I wasnt sure previously if the Old Rectory was the best fit for her. However since the change of managemwnt, i am convinced now that it is indeed the best place for her care.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I am 70 years old, and retired to the sea. My sister was in a care home, I asked her if she would retire to the sea with me, as we already had a sister giving here, we chose Seacroft, from day 1 of seeing her home, the greeting we had was perfect, the home perfect, when I visit my sister the staff are
so pleasant, smiley faces and very helpful, I put my trust in all the staff, that my sister will be cared for in every sese and description of the word "care". Thank you to all concerned, my sister is special to me!

Grandma has improved so much since her arrival at Holmes Court. She has gone from not wanting to be there, to being happy, getting healthier and stronger and eating and drinking everything that is put in front of her. River is open and honest, keeps us well informed, made us very welcome and has dealt
with complicated matters quickly, efficiently and made her to priority keeping our grandma safe, happy and healthy. The staff are friendly and make you feel so welcome, and the building is well kept, clean but also so welcoming, like a home from home. The environment is very dementia friendly, whilst also feeling homely and cosy. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a warm, safe, and happy environment for their relative, or for themselves.

When the need for a care home for my dad arose I have to admit that I knew very little about the subject. But we knew someone whose partner had been a resident in the past. They were pleased with the care and that being the case we opted for Woodville. It was a good decision and I was pleased with the
care that dad received. The staff who looked after him could not have done a better job. Sadly dad passed away, but I have to say that the way staff interacted with the family helped us at that sad time.

Mum has been a resident for 18 months. She is well-cared for; enjoys chatting to staff and residents alike.
As a family, we are kept informed of any concerns and staff alter Mum's care accordingly.

My aunt has been in Birch Green for almost three years now and she is so happy here and always has been. The Staff are brilliant with her and nothing is too much trouble for them. In those three years I have never had a problem that wasn't dealt efficiently and with great care for my aunt's welfare.
I can't thank everyone enough. I have peace of mind that my aunt is in a safe place.

We find the staff are very kind and polite. Respectful of our Dad. The staff are happy to answer our questions and reassure Dad. A friendly place.
There are parts of the building, that is Dads room and local toilet, that are very tired and worn, Dad has not complained.
It is sad for Dad to be in a
care home, but I feel Birch Green staff make it a better experience for him. We feel he is cared for well.
