Review of Westerlands Care Village from Amanda S (Stepdaughter of Resident) published on 5 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
The room my stepdad is in is depressing and in need of decoration, the floor is constantly dirty & sticky, the surfaces are not cleaned well enough. He always has items missing, His clothes are not folded & he always looks creased. Some staff are really caring & seem to genuinely care, others not so much. The food isn't great & they do not seem to care that they are not feeding my stepdad things he enjoys, mum takes him fresh fruit in daily & he eats it like he is starving! Mum goes most days but been ill herself & we just found a drink she left him 5 days ago on his table. There has been no signing in pages for at least 2 weeks this is a H& S concern. I raised an issue about ants & a dirty floor in his room, the cleaner actually put the ant repellent on top of the dirty floor & didn't clean it!

There are no activities in the basement for the men! His care plan was requested 4 times before receipt & had wrong names & wasn't accurate, communication is very poor!

Review of Peaker Park Care Village from C S (Friend of Resident) published on 31 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I visited Peaker for a fete and it was amazing! They do the fete to remind residents of 'the old days' and every member of staff from management down were involved.
I saw them treat everyone with respect and ensure that they all got a treat from the stalls or tombola.
The food was amazing and the catering staff were hot but they were cheerful and ran around making sure everyone ate. I was impressed that staff were eating with the residents as it shows staff are treated well. I think I heard them say they had cooked 250 burgers!
I saw staff dancing and ensuring those that didn't have visitors were involved.
In the extreme heat no one moaned- everyone smiled and made us feel welcome.

My friend has dementia and i worried about her wandering around but every member of staff knew her and acknowledged her and looked out for her - impressive for such a large home.

It was actually our mothers experiences more than mine not that she told me very mach about Riversway in the run up to the end of her life. Although from what I've seen when I have visited her beofre she was usually calm enough for one thing but not always. Also from my point of view and memories wise too she was well cared for up to the end.

Review of Rutland Care Village from Helen B (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Our 93yr old mother resided at Belvoir Court for the final 2yrs of her life. She unfortunately had some complicated health needs which could not be properly managed by just a visiting district nurse service. The full 24/7 nursing team and wonderful care staff made her life and ours so much easier. For two years we were greeted by the same friendly faces, they were mums friends and ours. Mum was treated with great dignity, kindness and affection. The cleanliness, food and care from all staff members was outstanding. Thank you from all Janets family xx

Review of Southfield House from Sarah D (Mother of Resident) published on 28 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My son came to live here recently and I am absolutely amazed at how he is gaining independence and confidence under the caring guidance of Eleanor (the manager) and the team of dedicated carers. Immediately I walked into Southfield, I was impressed by warm and welcoming feeling. The home itself is clean, modern, well equipped and extremely well organised. The residents are treated like a big family, but each is respected and supported, led by their individual needs, preferences and personalities. From the minute my son stepped through the doors, I knew he was in a safe place which was calm, peaceful and hopeful. He had been insular and anxious previously, leading to depression, but after a week he was walking to the shops and making his own choices. He is interacting with other residents, sitting with them to dine, and hoping to join in with activities. I feel positive that he is safe, supported and treated with compassion and kindness. Thank you so much, Eleanor and all the care team.

Review of Birch Green Care Home from S S (Sister of Resident) published on 27 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I clearly remember the day my eldest sister was admitted to Birch Green care home directly from hospital. Staff were ready waiting to greet her and made her feel most welcome. Her room had been prepared and was lovely and clean with her personal belongings all in place and her bed made with her own bedding, so she immediately felt at home.
At times my sister's behaviour can be quite challenging because of her dementia but the staff know exactly how to help her and treat her with kindness and compassion.
My sister likes the Head Housekeeper because she is so friendly and kind. She helps her with her daily bible reading and wears a green uniform, which is my sister's favourite colour!
The Activity staff always provide plenty of activities to entertain residents.

All staff are friendly, helpful, kind and caring, not just towards residents but with their families too, making the atmosphere like one big happy family. Thank you everyone, you are all fantastic!

Review of St Georges from Hannah C (Niece of Resident) published on 21 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My aunt was discharged to St Georges following a fall and a brief spell in hospital, to be assessed as to whether she was capable of continuing independent living. Unfortunately this was not to be, because she also had dementia. But from the moment she arrived, the care team were so welcoming and accommodating.
Beyond providing support with the daily tasks, her carers were compassionate, patient, helping her feel safe.

She became more active, engaged and involved and enjoyed the social events. St Georges is very clean, light and bright, enabling both communal and individual living. The relationship was not only with my aunt, but also with my dad and myself and provided a major source of comfort during challenging times with her dementia.

Review of River Meadows from Linda H (Son of Resident) published on 20 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

Mum enjoyed her stay, she found everything to be clean and pleasant the staff were friendly and helpful. She didn't enjoy joining the other residents in the lounge. Mum still has mental capacity and found it difficult with the amount of people with dementia. She didn't enjoy some of the things that were on the TV (Three Stooges) the TV in her room didn't work.

Review of Charnwood Oaks from Helen E (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

I cannot thank everyone at this care home enough for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion shown to my mum. Every member of staff went above and beyond to ensure she was comfortable, respected, and treated with genuine warmth and dignity.

The home itself is beautiful, welcoming, and always impeccably clean, creating a lovely environment for residents and visitors alike. The staff are truly outstanding-professional, caring, and always willing to go the extra mile. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and it gave me complete peace of mind knowing my mum was in such capable and compassionate hands.

I am incredibly grateful to the entire team for everything they have done and would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for outstanding care for a loved one. Thank you for making such a difficult time so much easier.

I could mention loads of things that are great but i really cant see the point of going through them all as everything is great, but will mention the standard of care the kindness to residents and visitors the activities of all kinds to occupy them and just the general atmosphere and cleanliness of the place has just blown me away, i just think i am so lucky that my dear Sister Lesley has a place in such a wonderful care home she is so much calmer and relaxed now, thank you so much to all the staff there and i mean them all from reception all the way through so professional but also so caring Thank You.

Review of Springhill Care Home from Dawn H (Sister of Resident) published on 10 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My sister was a resident at Springhill for several years. As a family we cannot put into words how outstanding this care home is. Each and every member of staff excelled. The level of professionalism and compassion on every level is amazing. Her needs were always met and put above everything else. They went out of their way to make sure she was cared for to the highest possible standard. They didn't just care for our sister, they treated her like family and they all loved her dearly and we will never be able to thank them enough.
