Since my mum moved into St Georges she was very happy. The staff are very caring and are also diligent and professional. Mum made lots of friends during her time there amongst both staff and residents. As family members we all feels that during her time at St Georges we had peace of mind and confidence
that she was happy, safe and well cared for. The manageress and staff have also been very supportive of all of us and have been a great comfort.

My mum has vascular dementia and we have witnessed a steady decline over recent years. I work in primary care and have been looking for a care home for quite a while, knowing that there would come a time when we could no longer, as a family, provide the care that mum needed. I have been very impressed
with the care and compassion that all staff provide to my mum and all of the other residents. I know that I have chosen the best care home. Thank you Birch Green !

Barons Park Nursing Home

from Fay C (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 October 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My dad came to Baron's Park in March 2025 from a hospice ward in a hospital. He had a prognosis of just weeks. However the care, companionship and wonderful nursing he had at Baron's Park meant he rallied, and we had six more months with him. The staff at the home were welcome and friendly from the
start. Nothing was too much trouble and they took time to get to know us as well as my dad. Visiting was easy and virtually unlimited and every interaction between staff and my dad was respectful and friendly. My dad was staunchly opposed to going into a care home but had no other option, however, he soon felt so at home there he was happy to be there. On the day he died, I was looked after so well, tea, toast and hugs from the staff who had got to know my dad. The whole experience meant that the end of my dad's life was peaceful, calm and safe. I cannot thank Ryan and the team enough

My mum only had 2 days end of life care at Barons Park but we cannot thank them enough for the sensitivity and respect with which they treated her and the care that they showed to ourselves at what has been a very difficult time. With their guidance, we were able to ensure that she passed in a way
that she would have liked, a great comfort to us all. Particular thanks to Ryan, Demi, Steph and Rini (apologies if I have not spelt that correctly!)

This is the third home my wife has been resident in and it is by far the best. It is a well staffed home and all the staff are caring and helpful both to my wife and myself. Everything has been thought of and everyone knows their job and carries it out well. Any problems are quickly dealt with and I
look upon the staff as friends. I feel at home myself going there as a visitor. The care my wife receives is first class. I have no complaints.

Phoenix Park Care Village

What a relief to find a well organsised, clean and well staffed care home for my mum. She was discharged from hospital 2.5 years ago directly into another care home not so far away but not so good.
The contrast in staff is quite stark. At the old one they were into managing decline, not for the benefit
of the residents, but simply to make things easier for the carers who did little or nothing beyond basic care.
From the start Hilltop was different. The manager and senior nurse went to the mum's former home to get details on her care plan and were sadly disappointed, but thakfully they agreed to take mum in.
Her room is clean odour free and spacious. -as the the home itself. The facilities include people who's very job is to engage with and entertain the residents, we met both and were mightily impressed with their energy and dedication --observed over a number of visits. The Management, Admin and carers we've met are superb. Not enough space to say much more than Thank God for Hilltop!

The care in River Meadows has been outstanding. My mum has been treated with kindness and has been supported very well during her settling in period. We are very impressed with the cleanliness, food and overall experience.
Every team member shows kindness and consideration about her wellbeing and safety.
She has not shown any concerns about her move to River Meadows and we are extremely pleased with the overall experience. Well done to the team and manager.

Barons Park Nursing Home

My Dad had been a resident of the care home for a couple of years. The staff are extremely very good at caring for the residents. I have had experience of other care homes that previously cared for my dad. I have to say that Barons Park is by far the best care home when it comes to quality of care and
putting the residents needs first. The food is very good and the cooks that work in the kitchens are also fantastic. My dad had special diet needs so food needed to be pureed. The care home invested in there kitchen staff to train them to produce this food in a way that it actually resembled what the food should look like. In my opinion if you are looking for a very good care home to look after your loved one then look no further than Barons Park care home. I would happily recommend this care home to anyone.

She particularly loves her pamper time when she gets her hair and nails done. The staff are so kind and friendly, they make us feel welcome on our visits. We can't thank moms care home

The Fieldings always feels welcoming when I visit my son. The staff are usually able to have a chat.
Sometimes I am aware of the shortage of staff and it makes their job of caring for the residents very difficult.
Having said that they really do go over and above in their attention to their responsibilities
for those in their care.
I am aware that they work long shifts and I wish that it didn't have to be, as it can have an effect on their own health.
I do know that the Manager, has changes ongoing to ease the pressure on staff and that's good to know.
I know how important it is to have fully trained members of a team as it's a very difficult job caring for those with different kinds of mental health issues.
He has been there some years now and in the last few years he had made some improvements.
My son is happy and feels safe and that is all I want for him. There is a need for more communication between staff re the needs for my son to get the same info.

Overall we found the staff very helpful, kind, respectful and caring. It was clear though that they are understaffed as sometimes mums needs weren't always met with the speed sometimes needed (such as urgent toilet need). I'm sure this is not isolated to one patient due to how busy the staff are.
This became much more the case overnight, despite this her overall needs were met and mum loved being there for her last few weeks. Her key worker and care staff were fab with her as were the team leaders and we felt as family that the support they gave us was also compassionate and heartfelt. Many thanks to the team

Springhill Care Home

Our mum went into Springhill Nursing Home for end of life care. From the first moment we walked through the door, the staff were welcoming, friendly and professional.
Our dad was quickly put at ease when he went to look around, and the application process for a room was managed seamlessly.
When our
mum was moved into Springhill from the hospice, the nursing staff very quickly re-assessed her needs and contacted the relevant services to ensure she received the equipment needed to keep her comfortable and cared for.
All of the staff were wonderful. The room our mum stayed in was cleaned regularly, the food was excellent and the care and dignity offered to her throughout her short stay at the home was second to none.
Although her participation in activities was limited, the staff went out of their way to make sure she was attended to by the hairdresser that comes every week, and her nails were painted by the beautician.
They offered the same care to our dad who visited every day.
