The Fieldings always feels welcoming when I visit my son. The staff are usually able to have a chat.
Sometimes I am aware of the shortage of staff and it makes their job of caring for the residents very difficult.
Having said that they really do go over and above in their attention to their responsibilities
for those in their care.
I am aware that they work long shifts and I wish that it didn't have to be, as it can have an effect on their own health.
I do know that the Manager, has changes ongoing to ease the pressure on staff and that's good to know.
I know how important it is to have fully trained members of a team as it's a very difficult job caring for those with different kinds of mental health issues.
He has been there some years now and in the last few years he had made some improvements.
My son is happy and feels safe and that is all I want for him. There is a need for more communication between staff re the needs for my son to get the same info.

My daughter has recently become a resident at Little Acres Care Home.
As she suffers from Autism and PDA, she has complex needs and I am delighted with the caring attitude of the staff and the relaxed, homely atmosphere of the home.
I feel reassured that my daughter is already settled and having the
best care from kindly staff who have had training in her condition.

Little Acres is a haven for our relative after struggling in her previous placement.
The manager and her strong team are deserving of high praise.
The care, kindness and professionalism with which they treat residents is truly inspiring and after only a week in their care the improvement for our much
loved family member is already wonderful to see.
Little Acres thankyou from the bottom of our hearts.

Arranged to take family member out for the day, when I arrived to collect her she was dressed appropriately and all ready to go looking lovely. I visit Little Acres every other week and I am always happy with what I see. Staff are very attentive to all residents and create a happy relaxed atmosphere
for all including visitors. Staff are always happy to answer any concerns and accommodate individual needs/preference.

Little Acres was a soft place to land for my brother at a difficult time. They have looked after him beautifully and he has enjoyed his time with you. The staff cared for him as an individual and helped him regain his confidence.
Whenever I have visited all the other residents seemed happy and were
treated with kindness and dignity.

I visit my dad regularly and the staff are always pleasant and welcoming. This visit was my dad's birthday and myself, mum and aunty were invited to stay for tea. It was really lovely and my dad even had a birthday cake especially made! All the residents and staff sung Happy Birthday and the afternoon
was so special and memorable.

My son has been a regular respite care user of The Fielding for the last five years. and I have to say he treats it like his home from home.
I cannot praise the staff highly enough; it is such a relief to know he is being looked after so well.

I can’t praise the manager and his team enough for the excellent care they provide for my brother. Nothing is too much trouble for them. He was very reluctant to move there a few years ago because he doesn’t like change. He has never regretted it for a moment. I live 80 miles away so I have total peace
of mind that he is truly well taken care of by everyone there. They have made me very welcome too when I have visited. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Oakdene Care Centre. Thank you for everything you do!

The manager and all her staff all wonderful no matter what I ask about my sister, there is always a response and details even to getting a dentist now. I know that the manager does everything she can even down for decorating rooms. I find a lot needs painting and is on the maintenance list, there are
lots of repairs that need doing also. I have much admiration for everyone working at Little Acres, they all do their very best for all the residents in their care.

On our visit to Oakdene to visit my husband's sister, we were made to feel very welcome, having been greeted by friendly smiles from the staff. It was a party arranged by the family. Nothing was too much trouble for them. But the main reason for this review is their wonderful, caring attitude to the
residents; it felt like they were all one big happy family.
Our relative is now living her best life, considering her diagnosis. She is much improved since living in Oakdene.
I know how difficult it can be working with people who have mental health problems, but these staff are brilliant. We saw no problem in the three hours that we spent there.

Cannot speak highly enough of Oakdene. The staff are excellent. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum has settled really well and loves getting involved in games etc. Always out - more than me! Brilliant now - set up the dining room with breakfast bar - like a hotel - promotes independence for everyone.
Back to the old days of Mum making me tea!

My aunt is in the final stages of dementia. She is being very well cared for. The staff can't do enough for her and her carer in particular has gone above and beyond. They are fitting things around her needs, eg. feeding her when she is awake, no matter what time it is. The staff are friendly.

My daughter stayed here as an emergency respite placement, she was quite challenging upon arrival, the staff were remarkable at calming her down and helping her settle through her stay. On collection, my daughter said how much she had enjoyed her stay and would love to stay again. I would like to take
this opportunity to thank all the staff for their hard work and caring nature.
