Amazing staff and amazing time thanks to manger beccy and her mother Anita and all staff, pleasure to be there. The fate and experience and wet sponges to the managers and senior team was such a memorable experience.

After a relatively short stay, sadly my aunt passed away at the age of 97. She had been at Charnwood Oaks for 4 months. And after moving there from Derby I could straight away see a significant difference in the care she was given. I was so impressed with the professionalism of the staff, moreso as I got to know them the empathy they showed during difficult circumstances. The were tenacious as so caring about adding value at doing their best for my aunt. Well done team.

My mum moved into Peakers Park in March 2026 and had been quite poorly. The staff were all amazing and through their care Mum actually perked up a bit. The result of this was that my brother and I got another 4 months to spend with mum - visits that included chats, giggles, talking to mum about her life, affirmations of love and the ability to be son & daughter again, rather than caregivers. We will be forever grateful. The staff always had time to talk to us and answer our questions and helped us through Mum's end of life care with honesty and compassion. I would not hesitate to recommend Peaker's Park and the people that work there.

Pleasant accommodation, nice location and the food is apparently good. What I would say is that I tend to visit at weekends (I live 40 miles away) when staff are thin on the ground and it can take a long time to gain access after ringing the door bell. I also notice that call bells from rooms seem to ring for a long time. My relative is a smoker and complains that the smoking lounge is not always available for smokers.

My friend has dementia and i worried about her wandering around but every member of staff knew her and acknowledged her and looked out for her - impressive for such a large home.

If the Manageress knocked many persons doors you may not let her in. JW

She became more active, engaged and involved and enjoyed the social events. St Georges is very clean, light and bright, enabling both communal and individual living. The relationship was not only with my aunt, but also with my dad and myself and provided a major source of comfort during challenging times with her dementia.

All of the staff are extremely caring and supportive! ! I can not praise them enough and would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone ! The obvious care from all of them to all residents makes it a very pleasant place to visit every time !

I cannot thank everyone at this care home enough for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion shown to my mum. Every member of staff went above and beyond to ensure she was comfortable, respected, and treated with genuine warmth and dignity.

The home itself is beautiful, welcoming, and always impeccably clean, creating a lovely environment for residents and visitors alike. The staff are truly outstanding-professional, caring, and always willing to go the extra mile. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and it gave me complete peace of mind knowing my mum was in such capable and compassionate hands.

I am incredibly grateful to the entire team for everything they have done and would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for outstanding care for a loved one. Thank you for making such a difficult time so much easier.

I could mention loads of things that are great but i really cant see the point of going through them all as everything is great, but will mention the standard of care the kindness to residents and visitors the activities of all kinds to occupy them and just the general atmosphere and cleanliness of the place has just blown me away, i just think i am so lucky that my dear Sister Lesley has a place in such a wonderful care home she is so much calmer and relaxed now, thank you so much to all the staff there and i mean them all from reception all the way through so professional but also so caring Thank You.

Nurses & staff all very friendly and helpful. Food was ok but not very tasty and not any good options for vegetarians or those who have dietry restrictions (ie no beef for Hindus). Place was kept clean & secure.

My mother has been in this home for over two years, yes there has been the odd hiccup but any problems have been sorted quickly and professionally, day to day mum has been looked after by a team who are friendly and seem to care, not only for mum but for me when I've had a worrying time.

Following sectioning and 2 months in hospital (psychiatric) my husband was discharged on end of life care. He has slowly faded over 4 mths and is now entirely dependent on the lovely carers at Peaker Park. The young staff are patient, caring and tender, and it is so reassuring to see the young men showing such qualities, with the female staff. When problems occur (falls, suitable bed) they are quickly addressed. A wonderful birthday cake was produced by the kitchen for his 95th birthday.

A big thank you to all the staff for making me reassured my mum is getting the best care, is safe and as comfortable as can be.

Dad was discharged to St. George's following a stay in hospital and from the moment we arrived we were treated like family, we were all welcomed and nothing was too much trouble for them. The staff are always available, visible and happy to help. The managers door is always open and happy to chat. Dad has settled well and he has friendly faces for company and to tend to all his needs. Dad is no longer wandering, confused or lonely as there is always someone to sing along with him. Dad loves the meals cooked in their on-site kitchen, especially 'Fish Friday'! Thank you to Julie and all the team for everything you do.

The staff at St Georges were always friendly and welcoming and they were kind and caring to my mother who had many needs. Thank you for your help and care.

My dad has settled in lovely and is sleeping so well. The food's great too! The staff here have been amazing, so kind and helpful, not only to my dad but to me. I feel so happy to know my dad is being very well taken care of. Dad has already made friends with lots of the residents. Mentally, he continues to improve. Management is a credit to the home. She has gone above and beyond and makes sure my dad is happy.

A well run home with all staff excellent. Nothing is to much trouble for them. Graham is well looked after and has really fitted in and we as a family are very happy.

My father was a resident from August 2023 until his death in April 2026. Although initially not happy about needing residential care, he soon settled in, began to interact with other residents and formed a rapport with the staff. I was always impressed with the care and kindness of the staff. Several carers said my father was a popular resident, they enjoyed caring for him and they showed great compassion during his final days.

I enjoy living in Oaklands House and like to use the facilities. Staff help me with all my requirements. I like the food in Oakland House. Staff and manager are very helpful in Oakland House.
