Overall Experience
My aunt was discharged to St Georges following a fall and a brief spell in hospital, to be assessed as to whether she was capable of continuing independent living. Unfortunately this was not to be, because she also had dementia. But from the moment she arrived, the care team were so welcoming and accommodating.
Beyond providing support with the daily tasks, her carers were compassionate, patient, helping her feel safe.

She became more active, engaged and involved and enjoyed the social events. St Georges is very clean, light and bright, enabling both communal and individual living. The relationship was not only with my aunt, but also with my dad and myself and provided a major source of comfort during challenging times with her dementia.

Nurses & staff all very friendly and helpful. Food was ok but not very tasty and not any good options for vegetarians or those who have dietry restrictions (ie no beef for Hindus). Place was kept clean & secure.

Dad was discharged to St. George's following a stay in hospital and from the moment we arrived we were treated like family, we were all welcomed and nothing was too much trouble for them. The staff are always available, visible and happy to help. The managers door is always open and happy to chat. Dad has settled well and he has friendly faces for company and to tend to all his needs. Dad is no longer wandering, confused or lonely as there is always someone to sing along with him. Dad loves the meals cooked in their on-site kitchen, especially 'Fish Friday'! Thank you to Julie and all the team for everything you do.

My father was a resident from August 2023 until his death in April 2026. Although initially not happy about needing residential care, he soon settled in, began to interact with other residents and formed a rapport with the staff. I was always impressed with the care and kindness of the staff. Several carers said my father was a popular resident, they enjoyed caring for him and they showed great compassion during his final days.

Since my mum moved into St Georges she was very happy. The staff are very caring and are also diligent and professional. Mum made lots of friends during her time there amongst both staff and residents. As family members we all feels that during her time at St Georges we had peace of mind and confidence that she was happy, safe and well cared for. The manageress and staff have also been very supportive of all of us and have been a great comfort.

Fantastic, very caring environment, great facilities and staff that are on the ground. Seen an improvement in my Dads routine, he has more life to him now than when he was at home. Very well run and organised care home and that is a credit the care home manager, who is a very emotionally intelligent leader, that has made a positive difference to the overall experience of the whole care home.

My mum joined St George's in October 2021. Since then she has been extremely well-cared for and the staff have been incredible, always going above and beyond to make sure mum's needs were met.
A lovely atmosphere has been created in the home and the carers are without exception friendly and cheerful.
Mum now sadly passed away, but we will always be thankful to St George's for making her last years as positive and comfortable as possible.

Can't thank them enough.

My mum spent the last 3 years at St George's. She was treated with respect and dignity by all the staff. She had severe dementia and was not always an easy resident to deal with but the staff were always extremely supportive and patient with her. We were always kept informed of any changes or concerns regarding mum no matter what time of the day or night. As a family we are very thankful for the love and care provided to her in the last few years of her life.

Came to see my brother. I noticed how clean the care home was and met a couple of staff, one staff member in particular was great, a credit to St Georges Care Home and my brother is very happy here. All in all fantastic. Just met the manager, a wonderful lady, what a great team of workers.

All staff are very friendly and helpful they treat the residents with respect and care, nothing is a problem or chore, very happy to go above and beyond to ensure all the residents are safe, entertained and looked well after. It is a pleasure to see them with the residents going about their normal daily tasks, assisting the residents and ensuring they are comfortable, healthy and happy.

My mum wasn’t at St Georges for long and she sadly passed away there. There is an instant feeling of warmth and cosiness when you walk in. The staff are always friendly and helpful and looked after Mum very well. It is obvious that they genuinely care. The home is very well led, the manager is right at the heart of the home and often to be found out and about with the residents. It’s very clean, some modernisation would be nice, funding permitted, but the most important thing is that it’s a clean and very caring environment. The location is lovely.

I would certainly recommend this home.

My mum has been a resident of St Georges for three years. Recently, she went into hospital and was very poorly - the management and staff at St Georges were very caring and kept me informed all the way. Mum is now back in St Georges and the staff and management have bent over backwards to welcome her back and look after her - I can see her condition is improving daily and the residents have also welcomed Mum back and take time to include her in their activities.

My sister has been a resident at St Georges since April 2022. The home has improved immeasurably over the last 12 months. One of the many reasons being the new management structure in place and the staff being constant and not using temporary care workers. My sister has settled much more because of this and has no complaints when I visit.

St Georges is a wonderful, warm, engaging environment for both residents and visitors. Nothing is too much trouble. The home is spotlessly clean and gives a warm, comforting feel as soon as you enter. The staff go above and beyond to make the residents feel at home and this come from the top down, no matter the staff member's role. It would be so great if all care homes followed this ethos. I would definitely recommend St Georges to anyone asking, as it is such a lovely, warm, safe environment for the residents.

My mum was unexpectedly admitted to St Georges and as a family, we knew nothing about care homes.
I have to say St Georges have gone above and beyond to care for and settle my mum into her new surroundings.

The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and have taken the worry out of having a parent with dementia.

My mum was a resident here from May 2019 until December 2019 and in that short time had declined a lot. Her room was filthy, she had excrement on her bed frame, chair, curtains, doors and wall which was there at least a few weeks so had not been cleaned in a while. Every time I visited I would sort her wardrobe out and over half the clothes were not hers. She had no safety rail on her bed. Her TV remotes, dentures top and bottom have been lost. The home is dirty throughout, staff are nowhere to be seen most of the time you have to go and look for them. My mum and other residents were just sat in the lounge or dining room watching TV or with music on and that's it until dinner time or tea-time, no activities just put them in a chair and leave them. We were there 2 and a half hours not a drink for my mum or any residents until I asked. Mum was severely dehydrated when admitted to hospital. We have moved her now.
