My mum has vascular dementia and we have witnessed a steady decline over recent years. I work in primary care and have been looking for a care home for quite a while, knowing that there would come a time when we could no longer, as a family, provide the care that mum needed. I have been very impressed
with the care and compassion that all staff provide to my mum and all of the other residents. I know that I have chosen the best care home. Thank you Birch Green !

This is the third home my wife has been resident in and it is by far the best. It is a well staffed home and all the staff are caring and helpful both to my wife and myself. Everything has been thought of and everyone knows their job and carries it out well. Any problems are quickly dealt with and I
look upon the staff as friends. I feel at home myself going there as a visitor. The care my wife receives is first class. I have no complaints.

Our mum went into Springhill Nursing Home for end of life care. From the first moment we walked through the door, the staff were welcoming, friendly and professional.
Our dad was quickly put at ease when he went to look around, and the application process for a room was managed seamlessly.
When our
mum was moved into Springhill from the hospice, the nursing staff very quickly re-assessed her needs and contacted the relevant services to ensure she received the equipment needed to keep her comfortable and cared for.
All of the staff were wonderful. The room our mum stayed in was cleaned regularly, the food was excellent and the care and dignity offered to her throughout her short stay at the home was second to none.
Although her participation in activities was limited, the staff went out of their way to make sure she was attended to by the hairdresser that comes every week, and her nails were painted by the beautician.
They offered the same care to our dad who visited every day.

My father was moved to Springhill from Blackburn hospital on 20th June and died today 22nd June He was very poorly and was on apallitive care plan
I cannot speak highly enough of the care and support given to him in the last 2 days
The attitude, respect and kindness shown to him was exemplary
.The staff were wonderful .He was able to tell us yesterday that he felt respected and his dignity was maintained, the staff were gentle when changing him far gentler than hospital.
There communication with him even though he was unclear in speech was brilliant . I can't speak highly enough of the care he recieved
The Enviroment is really nice ,clean and we were able to put his favorite pictures on the walls and personal items
The staff wereso lovely with my wife and myself

My mother was a resident at Springhill for 5 years. Throughout her time there she was treated with dignity and respect. The care was exemplary. She made her room her home with some of her treasured possessions and she was very contented. The kitchen staff went above and beyond to cater for her fussy
diet. When she reached end of life; the palliative care she received was exceptional. Mum passed away very peacefully and I was fully supported throughout the process. I shall be forever grateful to Springhill.

My experience of the nursing home from when my sister entered is that all the staff are extremely courteous, welcoming and very helpful and friendly. Extra attention is paid to resident's with lots of photos of friends and loved ones at special events over the year. The residents all appear to be treated
with great care and dignity.

Birch Green Care Home has looked after my husband with dementia from when I became too ill to continue. He was treated with dignity and respect and settled in well. The staff were so welcoming, kind and compassionate. I cannot thank them enough for the care they have given. My husband enjoyed the varied
activities and we thought the food was excellent. He was living in Birch Green for almost 18 months until he passed away recently.

Mum was transferred from hospital where she had been for several weeks. She was quite poorly at the time of her transfer so was bedridden once she arrived at Springhill.
Unfortunately, she never really showed any signs of improvement and we (her family) made a rota so that there was a familiar face
with her as often as possible. The staff that were allocated to her were really good and made sure that she was kept clean and helped to feed her when she couldn't do it herself. Unfortunately, we lost her on the 17th of October but couldn't have asked for better care for her in her final days.

My dear mum recently passed at Springhill House. She wasn't there for long, just 7 days, but oh my word !! What a beautiful place to spend her last days. The care she was given was absolutely exemplary, outstanding and filled with copious amounts of love, care and understanding. Every member of staff
I came into contact with was extremely supportive towards our family, very loving towards my mum and gave her the utmost respect and dignity during her final days. Walking into Springhill House, even for the brief period, felt like home, after all, it was my mum's home in the end. It was clear to see that all the staff, no matter what their official role was, were obviously one team of togetherness, care and compassion. It felt like the whole place was one massive hug. Comforting the visitors as they attended. My mum always said, for as long as I can remember "When I pop my clogs I want to be in Springhill House because I know it's the best" THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

My mum was at Springhill Care Home for only 6 days but the care she received was exemplary. Medication was available when necessary and the compassion of staff was amazing. We were allowed to stay with her all the time and we were equally looked after by staff. I feel that Mum's last days were made

The dream of my brother, that he and his partner could be together in a care home became a reality because of the priority held by management at Springhill, that couples should have the opportunity to remain united. The arrival of his partner has changed everything for him, his life has meaning again.

My wife has been a resident in excess of 5 years. She has an end case of Alzheimer's. Care has always been excellent. My daughter and I are constantly informed of her care needs which are met. The manager and all the carers are approachable and nothing is too much trouble. The home is small, with 22
residents and I am totally satisfied that my wife's care is as good as it can be. Care plans are discussed with us and agreed. It is a dementia home and as such activities have to be limited.
