I cannot thank everyone at this care home enough for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion shown to my mum. Every member of staff went above and beyond to ensure she was comfortable, respected, and treated with genuine warmth and dignity.
The home itself is beautiful, welcoming, and always impeccably clean, creating a lovely environment for residents and visitors alike. The staff are truly outstanding-professional, caring, and always willing to go the extra mile. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and it gave me complete peace of mind knowing my mum was in such capable and compassionate hands.
I am incredibly grateful to the entire team for everything they have done and would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for outstanding care for a loved one. Thank you for making such a difficult time so much easier.
Thank you for your kind words, it will mean a lot to the team at Charnwood Oaks.
The staff that cared for my mother during her 15 months at Charnwood Oaks were wonderful. From the first day she was made to feel welcome & treated with respect & kindness. From entering the home, you can see how clean & well kept it is, many of her relatives commented abut this. My mum loved the wide variety of food that was served & enjoyed the lovely restaurant. She was kept happy & motivated by the amazing entertainment staff who work so hard to keep all the residents active & happy. My mum made lots of new friends during her stay & we will always be so grateful to all concerned.
Thank you for your really kind words and for taking the time to complete this review.
My mother was admitted in Sept 2025 and the care she has received has been beyond my expectations. I have no concerns, have been kept fully informed and am more than happy to recommend this facility.
Thank you for your kind words, it will mean a lot to the team at Charnwood Oaks.
Although she had Alzheimer's, she was able to connect with staff and have a smile and a chuckle.
Staff were caring and considerate and always updated me as to how my wife had been getting on. They were able to find food that she enjoyed eating and which suited her changing needs.
The home was clean and staff were efficient and kind, alway asking about my wellbeing too.
I am grateful that my wife seemed happy there and that the whole family were well informed and could be there at the end of her time.
I was very happy with all aspects of the care she received.
Thank you for your kind words, it will mean a lot to the team at Charnwood Oaks
Staff easily adapted Mum's care to meet her changing needs and sought timely medical advice as necessary. Mum was kept comfortable throughout her time there.
Our family appreciated being kept informed of any change with Mum in a timely way, and this enabled us all to be present at the end of her life which was managed peacefully and with great dignity.
Thank you Charnwood Oaks for making a difficult time for our family feel as supported and well- managed as possible.
Thank you for your kind words, especially at a difficult time, it will mean a lot to the team at Charnwood Oaks.
My nanna was here for many years and was cared for above and beyond mangers was quick to resolve anything that was brought up with up most respect and care the staff was absolutely fantastic and cared for my Nan has if she was there own
Thank you for your kind words, they will mean a lot to the team at Charnwood Oaks.
My husband was a resident in the home for three weeks, during which time he was treated with dignity, kindness and respect. The staff were always helpful and could not do enough to ensure his comfort in a warm and friendly manner. A lot of thought has gone into providing activities as part of care. My thanks to you all.
I am very happy with the way mum was taken care of at Carnwood Oaks. It is a clean, properly run home with a high standard of care given. The staff were very supportive and approachable when my mum sadly passed away. I had no concerns about her care.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this review and for your kind words.
I am coming to the end of my stay & I would like to praise all members of staff for treating me with nothing but kindness & dignity during my stay. They could predict when I needed more help during my stay. For one part of my stay I was ill with sickness when one person stayed with me as much as he could, he even tried to work out what I could take as sustenance, so he blitzed something up for me to drink. Where I would be without this care I do not know. The remainder of the time I was treated like a friend, without avoiding giving the utmost care. I stayed from June 2025-Dec2025
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to complete this review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us.
Our friend was a resident for about six weeks prior to her death and we could not fault any aspect of the facility.
The carers were most professional, with some going above and beyond their duty.
When visiting, we were always warmly greeted and given an update on our friend's condition.
Thank you for everything.
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to complete this review.
I would say that the nursing home was shabby and lacklustre with blinds at windows broken and storage facilities again shabby. Cleanliness could be improved, as could safety for residents, as several times another person entered my Mother's room and went to sleep in a chair or stood and looked at her. Also a number of times the call button didn't work or was not answered, causing my mother to feel some concern in the evenings.
On behalf of the home and company, could I please offer my apologies that standards fell below the expected standards and that your family endured undue distress as a result. I will ask my team to review your concerns to ensure that we learn from any errors we may have made and to ensure that other families do not have the same experience.Thank you for taking the time to complete this review.
My uncle himself reported the carers at Charnwood Oaks as being wonderful to him. As a family we have been very grateful for the kindness, understanding, caring and patience given to my uncle throughout his stay as well as the high level of professional standard of care he received. Many thanks from all of us.
The are home is a lovely environment for residents and carers. Mum and dad had lovely downstairs rooms near each other. The staff kept them very comfortable. My mum needed a lot of personal care after her strokes. She needed multiple staff to use a hoist to dress her, toilet her and clean her. They played music and games with her and encouraged her to sing. They were loving and friendly and respected her dignity.
Overall, this was a clean, spacious, well-laid-out care home. In particular, the day staff and medical staff were kind and treated residents with care and dignity. I think the variety of care needs can be overwhelming for the staff at times, and the night staff need improvement.
Fantastic home and the staff are amazing. My mother has just recently passed after only being there for 5 months. The love, care and support that was given to my mother as outstanding and they also supported and cared for me to during Mum's horrible phase of illness and dementia. Keep up the good work them, you are all amazing.
Very friendly staff to my husband and my family made very welcome on our visits also trustworthy.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this review and for your kind words.
My experience has been nothing but positive, I trusted the staff to take care of my mum which they did right up until she passed away. They ensured she didn't suffer and acted promptly when she become suddenly ill. The staff always made me feel welcome and limitless patience and caring with mum. Thank you.
The care she received from the nurses and carers was excellent. As was the support provided to the family. Mum was treated with compassion and dignity.
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to complete the review.
My father in law is not the easiest of gentlemen, Charnwood Oaks looks after him well, sort out his needs and put into place the things I ask for e.g omletter without pepper.
My wife was a resident at Charnwood Oaks for a couple of years until she sadly passed away very recently. During her time here, unfortunately, she became totally bedridden and the care, attention and dignity she was given by the carers throughout was absolutely fantastic. Whenever I visited, no matter what time of day, I was always fondly greeted by all of the staff and nothing was ever too much trouble. I was always kept fully informed of how my wife was doing and I have to finish by saying that Charnwood Oak staff have all helped me too tremendously throughout this time to which I am very very grateful for.
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to complete this review.
