The Fieldings always feels welcoming when I visit my son. The staff are usually able to have a chat.
Sometimes I am aware of the shortage of staff and it makes their job of caring for the residents very difficult.
Having said that they really do go over and above in their attention to their responsibilities
for those in their care.
I am aware that they work long shifts and I wish that it didn't have to be, as it can have an effect on their own health.
I do know that the Manager, has changes ongoing to ease the pressure on staff and that's good to know.
I know how important it is to have fully trained members of a team as it's a very difficult job caring for those with different kinds of mental health issues.
He has been there some years now and in the last few years he had made some improvements.
My son is happy and feels safe and that is all I want for him. There is a need for more communication between staff re the needs for my son to get the same info.

My son has been a regular respite care user of The Fielding for the last five years. and I have to say he treats it like his home from home.
I cannot praise the staff highly enough; it is such a relief to know he is being looked after so well.

We are so very grateful for the care our son received at The Fieldings March 2017 to November 2019. His emotional and social needs were met and appropriate boundaries were enforced respectfully and sensitively in such a way that most of his addictive behaviours ceased immediately he was admitted. Staff
were kind and affirming, showing flexibility in their support. A senior staff member even drove him to the station in her own care, so that he could access railway passenger assistance and join us on our holiday. Thanks again.

I came to Fieldings, Prime Life for respite due to becoming unwell. Staff were very nice to me and the manager was very good with problems that I had at the time. They helped me out the best that they could. Made sure that you eat right and that you don't go without anything and also helped with my
medication.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.338)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.338) out of 10 for The Fieldings is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for The Fieldings is calculated as follows: ( (24 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.338 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Fieldings is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 registered maximum number of service users is 9.4. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.4 = 0.213
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
