Woodville Residential Care Home

My uncle has been cared for here for over three years, and our family are very grateful for the kindness, dignity and genuine care he receives.

What makes this place special is that staff don't simply care for him - they know him, build relationships with him and genuinely see him as a person, not just a patient. They speak to him with warmth and affection, even though he has been non-verbal for many years.

They also support our family. When needed, they allow us to visit outside normal hours so we can stay, observe and support him. Sometimes they simply sit with us, listen and offer a quiet, reassuring presence. They also call when they feel something isn't right.

A few weeks ago, they went above and beyond by creating a special room so my aunt and uncle could celebrate their 67th wedding anniversary together. It meant the world to us.

The care, humanity and compassion shown by this team are exceptional. Thank you for seeing the person, not just the illness.

2) In the last intense hours, listen to the family more; perhaps usual nursing routines are not so important.

We are very happy with the level of care, safety and dignity given to my uncle. Since he left hospital he has continued to improve and he seems settled and a happy here.

From my personal experience the care home looks after my dad with kindness and respect. The staff support him with daily tasks while making sure he is comfortable and safe. They also take time to talk to him and involve him in activities which helps his well being. Seeing the care and patience they show gives me peace of mind that he is being looked after.

The care team were very good, and they looked after my mum well; the rooms were clean and the food was good, but as far as the activities, I think were poor, because I can't see the point in doing trivia questions when a lot of the resident's have dementia, and there are other songs to listen to instead of a famous singer all the time. You could have 1940's day, I am sure they know those songs, or songs from a popular movie and some of the old musicals, just something different.

My dad has been happy here and likes the food. He moved to be with his wife.

When the need for a care home for my dad arose I have to admit that I knew very little about the subject. But we knew someone whose partner had been a resident in the past. They were pleased with the care and that being the case we opted for Woodville. It was a good decision and I was pleased with the care that dad received. The staff who looked after him could not have done a better job. Sadly dad passed away, but I have to say that the way staff interacted with the family helped us at that sad time.

MY wife is happy here. She is being well cared for! I have lots of paper work ie contacts, tel nos to enable me to do the right things eg can I bring books, bring favourite items? How long do you expect her to be with this care home? Can she be given home breaks?

The best feature of this care home is the quality of the staff and their positivity.

Mum is very happy at the home with very friendly staff. The accommodation is clean and the food is good. Management are very good and attentive.

I have power of attorney for a close friend of mine who has been at Woodville for approximately 18 months. I have always found the home to offer excellent quality of care. The management and staff are very professional and ensure a warm friendly atmosphere exists within the home. They have always responded quickly and professionally to a number of medical situations ensuring the best possible outcome for my friend. I cannot recommend this care home enough.

As a regular visitor to my parent, I have always found the staff friendly and approachable. They treat my parent very well and are dedicated not only to her personal care but also to her morale making sure she keeps her spirits up, her laundry is also kept to a very high standard.

The home is very clean and tidy. The staff are always on hand and will help as and when needed. The food is excellent but not always hot. I find the staff very friendly and always have a smile for everyone. Mom is self-funding and feels the prices are very high but is happy to stay here and would not be able to cope on her own at home. We as a family are very pleased with the home.

Excellent welcome to Mum's new home. Mum has settled well with the support and help from all of the staff, not easy when Mum is deaf. Food is excellent and drinks are always on hand. We as a family are extremely happy with the management and all the friendly staff. Any concerns are listened to and acted on.

Always clean. Nice ensuite room. Nice dining room. Dirty chairs in the lounge. Nice garden.

I write on behalf of my 83-year-old dad. The management team at Woodville Care Home are some of the most professional I have had the pleasure to encounter, as I plot my way through the complex area of caring for my dad. Our family will remain eternally grateful for all the kindness and flexibility demonstrated during dad's 'last minute' respite placement. Dad thinks of Woodville Care Home as a very special place, full of wonderful staff looking after people with respect and kindness. Woodville is a place I like to visit because it is full of lovely staff and lovely residents, many I think of as my friends.

My mother, who has vascular dementia plus numerous other medical needs is happy and well cared for. The staff have been excellent over the last 12-months, and we, as a family, very pleased with the care and attention shown to our mother and us also.

My mum has been a resident for 4 years. I used to teach Health and Social Care and do the placement visits. This home has a fabulous warm and welcoming atmosphere, the staff are amazing. They treat everyone with respect, kindness, warmth and humour. The home feels like home, every event, Easter, Christmas, Halloween etc it is decorated in a professional style. The food is great, the rooms are cosy and they feel like family and my mum is very happy!
