My sister received excellent care during the last few weeks of her life. Care was given with kindness and compassion, which allowed her a peaceful, dignified death. She had been a resident for a very short time, but we were looked after like family. All the staff took care of her husband and family
members with the same kindness that was shown to my sister and that level of care made the saddest time a little easier to bear.

Our mother spent the last 2 years of her life in this wonderful care home. Will never be able to thank every single one of them enough. It is spotlessly clean always, the food is exceptional always, the care and attention are there always and the genuine love is there always. This is the standard all

My mother spent the last six months of her life at Garden Lodge Care Home and I can honestly say that I could not have wished for a better place for her. The staff are all really caring and compassionate with the residents, even though at times some of the residents can be challenging. I felt as though
I became part of a 'family' as I visited my mother several times a week and I was extremely grateful for the care and support they gave to me and my sister while they provided end-of-life care for our mother. They respected her dignity until the very end and the care and compassion they showed will always be appreciated. Not only did we lose our mother but I also feel like I lost a lot of other people who I had become to look on as family. Thank you to all at Garden Lodge.

I am not very good with words, but here goes anyway!
I would like to thank every member of the team from top to the bottom, from the first day
my dad arrived to the last day, there are not enough thank you's for the care and support you gave to him and also myself!
On a personal note, I wish to thank
one member of staff for the way he handled the last day with Dad, he was very respectful and professional in every way! I will never forget this...

My cousin is a resident at Garden Lodge, and I hold the power of attorney regarding her, so I feel extremely responsible that she is happy being in residential care. I have to say - it has been the best choice of a care home; she is very happy and well cared for.
During a recent visit, there was a
garden party for the residents, and the staff were fabulous, nothing was a problem, and every resident was catered for.

My Grandfather has been extremely well looked after by the excellent care staff at Garden Lodge. Nothing is too much trouble and my Grandfather had a wonderful repore with all staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending this service. We could all sleep easily at night knowing my Grandfather was
well looked after by staff who treated him as though he was one of their own family.

Before mam was admitted to a home we visited several others in the area and Garden Lodge staff promoted to the home very well. Accordingly, all the family were in agreement with a placement at Garden Lodge. Currently, mam has been in the home for less than 6 months and says she is very content at the
home.
The staff are very caring and attentive and appear willing to go the extra mile to ensure the residents have a good stay. Unfortunately due to Covid-19, we have not been inside the home so cannot answer all of the questions.

What can I say the staff at Garden Lodge have kept my granma safe throughout this pandemic from support staff, domestics, management working day night to keep grandma and all other residents safe. A lovely home where residents are always the staff's priority due to these uncertain times. I thank you

As I live a long way from Newcastle I have come to rely on and trust in the care Garden Lodge has given my mother and they have been great. They have also managed to remain Covid free yet still managing to give me regular updates and contact with my mother. I can’t praise them enough.

My Mother was welcomed into Garden Lodge in March as the last resident before lockdown. Prior to this, the Manager did all she could to make her move go well. Her room was repainted and I was asked what her favourite colour was so that a new carpet could be fitted in that colour. She is deaf and sight
impaired so it was a great worry to me that she wouldn’t understand why I wasn’t visiting and that she wouldn’t settle, as she was used to seeing me every day. The Manager and staff could not have been more supportive. I got regular updates, photos and even a video of her singing. She had clearly settled and looked happy and well. Now those restrictions are lifted and outside visiting allowed I have seen for myself what a fantastic relationship she has with her carers. The staff from the Manager down always makes time to update me and I am so grateful for the wonderful care she is receiving. Thank you all at Garden Lodge.

My mam was admitted at the beginning of this year and I am so grateful to Garden Lodge.


The staff, from the manager to the care staff, cook and activities coordinator cannot be faulted. They are warm, professional, accessible and hard working. The residents and indeed their families are their priority.


The home itself is extremely clean, modern and cheerful. Each room is beautifully decorated and furnished, is clean and homely, can't be faulted. The food is beautiful, and the chef even had a chat with Mam on admission to accommodate her requirements. Mam is vegetarian


The residents are stimulated, they even have an activities coordinator who organises chairobics, arts and crafts, reminiscence, etc. Their personal care is tip top, there is even a hairdresser available. The residents are treated with love, respect and patience.


I have worked in residential care myself, and can honestly say, this is an excellent residential home and I fully recommend it.

Immaculate home with very high standards of care. My mother moved into Garden Lodge a few months ago. Staff and management are very friendly and highly supportive of my mother.
They are always available to discuss any concerns about my mum. There is a real family atmosphere in the home and staff
are always willing to go the extra mile. My mum seems much happier since moving into Garden Lodge and even her walking has improved.
