I have been very impressed with staff both in caring for dad and other residents. They seem genuinely to care for residents. The care home has a very homely feel. Dad is being well looked after, is settled and content.

My mum is a long term resident and is unable to much for herself. The staff are excellent with keeping and eye on her, making sure she is feed and watered, having regular chats trying to make her laugh. She is always clean etc. My dad has also been here for respite on more than one occasion. The staff
have been great with him, encourage him to try and do more for himself, yet helping him along way, noticing when he wasn't himself and doing what was necessary. The staff are caring and treat everyone with dignity. I'm happy that my parents have been placed here.

I came to Loxley Chase straight from hospital as part of my rehab. My previous thoughts of a care home was that they were only for old people and so I was a little bit reluctant. However from my experience here I would have no hesitation about living in a care home if I needed to. The manager and staff
are excellent. They have the balance right between, care, encouragement and dignity which is often hard to achieve. The food is always excellent which is another plus. If you can please let the staff know how much I appreciate their care and kindness. Thank you.

On arrival, to visit my brother, there is always some one on duty to welcome me and show me to my brother. There are always plenty of staff on duty to attend to the guests are comfortable, well dressed and are stimulated by constant changes of themes in the living areas eg easter times, football, events
etc. The caged birds are a lovely diversion as are the constant change of flowers and decorations. The building is well maintained and full of daylight.

Am very pleased with the standard with Loxley. The staff and management are so friendly you really feel like you are part of a big family. Their work so hard none stop. You can get involved with all the entertainment their provided to make enjoyable for all the residents. If I need to speak to the management,
there's no problems with meeting them straight away, and are happy to try and help with anything their can do to make things easier for all.

Loxley Chase has improved more than expected in the last year 2025. Staff morale seems to have improved in the last 6 months which makes a pleasant home environment to visit. We visit regularly. All staff greet you with warmth and encouragement. As a family we are quite satisfied with the care received.

Regular staff have been most helpful, for the last few months, a new manager has taken charge, who has yet to show her face to visitors who come every day - has since left. The old manageress and the new one were most efficient.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.182)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.182) out of 10 for Loxley Chase is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.432 for Loxley Chase is calculated as follows: ( (66 Excellents x 5) + (40 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 118 Ratings = 4.432
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.75 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Loxley Chase is based on 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.75
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4, which has been reached with 10 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
