In 1994, Dr. Siddiqi and his wife bought The Old Vicarage Care Home, and their son, Kamal, is now the Care Home owner. Kamal studied business economics at a college in London and decided to work in his family-led care home. He is currently assisting Lancaster University with a research project that explores the impact of large, digital screen stimuli for the improvement of the quality of life for those diagnosed with dementia. This is an evidence-based research project funded by Lancaster University.
Kamal strives to continue with his parents’ ethos of care, which is to "care for others as you would like others to care for you and your loved ones".
Sue, our new Registered Manager, has a wealth of experience within the care sector. Originally, she trained as a Legal Secretary but decided that a career within care was most suited to her personality. Over the years, Sue has worked in many different care settings, including a learning disability care home, as a Domiciliary Care Manager for a spinal care unit, a Residential Unit Manager, a Senior Domiciliary Care Coordinator, and overseeing the development of a new care home.
